Nechushtan-Schindler service elevator @ the Lev Yerushalayim Hotel, Jerusalem, Israel
This is a video of the Nechushtan-Schindler service elevator at the Lev Yerushalayim Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.
Like many service elevators, this one is not very nice-looking (plain white wall, and ripped up at that). The manual outer door felt pretty clunky as I opened it, and it didn't close smoothly either. The ride was pretty bumpy too, especially as it stopped (you can even see the camera shake at that point). Also, when I pan over to the controls, you'll notice some blank black boxes. The lower two are supposed to be up/down arrows, and the upper one is supposed to be the level indicator (all of those are burned out as you can see).
I couldn't go all the way down to the main floor, because this elevator lands in a restricted area on that floor. Also, I would have liked to do a round trip on this elevator, but I had somewhere I needed to be, so I didn't have time to film more.

Israel Tours | Israel trips with kids | Immanuel Tours
Are you considering traveling to Israel for a holy land tour with your family? do you have small kids and are wondering what type of Israel tour is right for you as a family with small kids or teens? In this Israel travel and tips video we try to give you some good advise on Israel trips with kids.
Many families who decide to Travel to Israel, look for the right type of Israel trip that wold work out the best for their family budget and schedule. Usually the most cost effective way to get around Israel is to join a tour group like a Church tour to Israel or a organized Israel tour from your home country . The main problem with that will be that depending on the ago of your kids, not all such tours are as welcoming to kids or at least are not geared to provide the kids their own attention and some special activities built around the tour.
It is highly recommended to speak with your tour leader or tour host and find out if the tour can accommodate your kids and what if any is going to be special for the kids. It is also worth mentioning that not all hotels used by tour groups will be the best option in terms of family rooms or suites. Take your time to make sure the right accommodation is available for your family and if you expect connecting rooms, that these are indeed booked and confirmed by your Israel tour operator. You do not want to arrived at your hotel for the night to find out your kids room is on a different floor.
Being on a 10 day Holy land Tour can be hard work and may involve a lot of walking and sometimes standing in lines at sites, you need to see if your kids are at the age they can keep up with that.
It is a great advantage if there are other families with kids on your Israel tour, kids enjoy each others company and they will enjoy the Israel trip even more if they meet new friends on the tour.
There are endless fun and educational things to do with kids in Israel depending on the time of year, anythings from rafting on the River Jordan, to taking an Alipne slide down the Manara Cliff in northern Galilee, floating in the Dead Sea or visiting a Beduin camp. In Jerusalem your kids will fall in love with the Old City of Jerusalem and its colorful markets and learn to haggle for a good price with the market shop keepers. A tour in Jerusalem with kids should include a walk on the walls of the Old city (Rampant Walk) and a sound and light show at the Tower of David (David Citadel). A short distance from there is the attraction of the Jerusalem Time Elevator, an interactive journey through time in Jerusalem.
Staying in Jerusalem you could also check out Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo. for older Kids and Teens there are many world renowned museums in Jerusalem and there are always special events taking place in Jerusalem, some of which are organized by the municipality and are sometimes free.
Being in Israel you are located at the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea. A tour of ISRAEL CAN NOT BE COMPLETED WITH KIDS, WITHOUT A VISIT TO ONE OF MANY BEAUTIFUL BEACHES SPREAD ALL THE way from the North through Tel Aviv to southern Israel. Most of the beaches have very nice beach restaurants and include all the facilities needed to enjoy a long day on the Beach.
A family tour of Israel is a great experience and guaranteed to be fun and create many great memories. Depending on where you set off on your Holy land tour from, the flight to Israel may be long and you may suffer the effects of Jet lag. Kids seem to fair better then adults from Jet lag and many times enjoy the fact they are up in the small hours of the night, but in any case Jet lag is something you should take into account when planning your Israel tour.
If you have decided to do it yourself and rent a car in Israel, make your car rental booking early, check that you are indeed reserving the right car for your family size and that there is enough room for your baggage. The fleet of cars offered locally is very much different then the one offered in the USA and the vehicles are typically smaller. Make the selection early and make sure you are getting what you want.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
New Hebrew Music Museum opens in Jerusalem
A museum dedicated to the history of Jewish music - both in the Diaspora and in Israel - opened to the public on Sunday. But a section devoted to the building of the Third Biblical Temple is raising some eyebrows.
