Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line)
Total 12.2km, 30 stations. The only Toden tram left in Tokyo. One Day Economy Pass: ¥400. Cash or Pasmo/Suica card, pay to the driver. Admission to the Arakawa Yuen Theme Park is then free with the one day pass. Remember to press the STOP button when your station is next.
From Asakusa, I took subway to Minowa Station (H-19). From there, walk about 10 minutes to reach Minowabashi Station (Toden). There is no signboard nor online map to lead you there, so it’s all depends on your instinct or just ask around. Minowabashi Station is hidden inside rows of buildings. I started my journey around 10.00am from Minowabashi Station, going towards Waseda Station, and returned to Minowabashi Station around 6.00pm. This is something different from the usual Tokyo you know, it’s an authentic old Tokyo experience ????

JAPAN VLOG: Riding the Oldest Tram in Tokyo - Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line)
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RIDE THE TOKYO SAKURA TRAM:
If you’re interested in riding the Tokyo Sakura Tram, all you need to do is go to one of the tram platforms, and board through the front door. Once on, you can pay the 170 yen fare with an IC card like a Suica or a Pasmo, or with cash. In addition, the 700 yen Toei one day pass, which can be bought at machines in Toei subway stations or on the tram, works on the tram. If you just want unlimited rides on just the tram, you can buy a one day tram pass for 400 yen on the tram or at the Arakawa streetcar office. No “tapping out” is necessary when leaving the tram.

This is just a short vlog I filmed during my summer vacation away from the University of Oxford when I was working in Japan! The Tokyo Sakura Tram is a really cool way to get around Tokyo and I had a great time riding it this summer. Because of the many cherry blossom sights visible along the railway line, the Toden Arakawa Line is popularly nicknamed the Tokyo Sakura Tram. And in fact, along the Toden Electric Railway, you can see not just the cherry blossoms, but also roses in full bloom during spring and autumn. Because of this, it is a popular photography spot.

2019年3月19日、三ノ輪橋から学習院下まで都電荒川線さくらトラムに乗車。沿線には桜の名所がいくつも点在しています。Nikon 1 S2 11-27.5mmで撮影。

La dernière ligne de tramway de la ville de Tokyo encore en exploitation : la TODEN Arakawa line (荒川線) desservant le quart nord-ouest de la métropôle. Son départ s'effectue à partir du quartier universitaire de Waseda et la ligne termine son trajet dans le quartier de Minowabashi (au niveau du marché). Elle dessert les arrondissements de : Shinjuku, Toshima, Kita et Arakawa. Des correspondances avec les trains et métros se font aux gares et stations de Kishinbojinmae, Higashi-Ikebukuro-Yonchōme, Ōtsuka-Ekimae, Shin-Kōshinzuka, Oji-Ekimae, Kumanomae et Machiya-Ekimae.
Le dépôt des tramway se trouve à hauteur de la station Arakawa-Shako-mae. Bien entendu, toute visite y est impossible mais en en faisant le tour on peut prendre des photos et vidéos intéressantes, comme celle du pont transbordeur que l'on peut voir à la fin de ce petit film.
La ligne Akarawa fait 12 km de longueur et comporte 30 stations (terminus compris). Elle est desservie à l'aide de différents types de tramways : séries 7000, 8500, 8800, 8900 et 9000 (carrosserie de type vintage).
La fréquence moyenne en journée est d'un tramway toutes les 5 à 6 minutes. Amplitude horaire de 6h à 23h.
La flotte se compose d'environ une quarantaine de tramway.

This is riding a Toden Arakawa Line (Branded as the Tokyo Sakura Tram) 8900 Series tram between JR Oji and Otsuka Stations in Tokyo, Japan. These series were introduced in 2015.
The Toden Arakawa Line (都電荒川線 Toden Arakawa-sen), branded as the Tokyo Sakura Tram (東京さくらトラム Tōkyō Sakura Toramu), is a hybrid light rail/tram line in Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei). The Arakawa Line is the sole survivor of Tokyo's once-extensive Tokyo Toden streetcar system, but it is not the only tram line in Tokyo, as the privately owned Tokyu Setagaya Line is also classified as a streetcar (路面電車 romen densha) (video:
The current Toden Arakawa Line was created in 1974 after two remaining lines in the once-extensive Tokyo Toden streetcar system were merged together after big protests from locals, before closure. It extends from the Minowabashi stop (transfer to Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, Minowa station) and the Waseda stop (transfer to Tokyo Metro Tozai Line Waseda station), also serving two JR stations (Oji and Otsuka stations) along the way.
The tram line has become an attraction in itself even though it doesn't serve the touristy areas of Tokyo, but it serves some neat residential areas in the Northern parts of the Yamanote Line, as well as some temples along the way. There is also a museum dedicated to the tramway line on one of the stops.
The Sakura Tram Tokyo
A ride on Tokyo's Toden Arakawa Tram Line which also known as The Sakura Tram. This is the last section of a tram system that used to cover much of Tokyo, one which transports you through over 12 kilometres of northern Tokyo.
