Sake Noana 酒の穴 is a sake bar and great budget Japanese restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo. My wife and I had just landed in Tokyo, and we really had no plans for where to eat lunch, so we took a walk outside our hotel, and we found this place just by chance.
It turned out to be an excellent little basement restaurant, and although it’s known to be a Japanese sake bar, they also have some amazing lunch specials, which I thought were a very good deal for Tokyo.

Nori seaweed, Japanese cuisine/food and Yamamoto Noriten Honten specialist store (Tokyo, Japan)
Taylor M introduces nori edible seaweed, its use in Japanese cuisine/food and the (still popular) shop that invented seasoned nori/laver in 1869: Yamamoto Noriten Honten speciaslist store (Nihombashi district, Tokyo city, Japan). Check then go buy this ingredient to eat as a snack, cook, or offer!
Seen during this video: historical & current entrances, shop window, inside of the shop, wooden name board, staff in uniform, harvest on a boat, drying area, packaging in a factory, boxes, dried sheets, sushi rolls, nori dipped into soy sauce, wasabi, toasts, miso soup, rice, Japanese & Italian pasta, meat, seafood, vegetables, salad, pudding (?)...
SUBTITLES (original language):
* 山本海苔店 - Yamamoto Noriten
* Yamamoto Noriten
* Yamamoto Noriten main store is one of the best places to taste and buy nori in Tokyo.
* Present day
* The company is famous in Japan for selling this staple ingredient of the Japanese diet since 1849!
* Staff member
* いらっしゃいませ。 - Welcome to Yamamoto Noriten in Nihombashi.
* You may be asking yourself: What is nori? Well, nori comes from the sea; it is a kind of seaweed that the Japanese have been eating for more than a thousand years.
* You have probably seen it in Japanese restaurants; you remember the dark thin food wrapped around sushi rolls or floating in the soup of ramen noodles? That was nori seaweed!
* But did you know that nori is also gaining traction as a health food worldwide?
* If you are a health-conscious eater or on a diet, you will appreciate its surprisingly high concentration of vitamins & minerals, its content in proteins, calcium, iron.... and its low level of calories.
* No wonder it has lately been described as a superfood!
* At the shop, you can taste nori, get cooking ideas, and buy your favorite products: nori snacks, crispy roasted nori, or even the original ajitsuke nori produced using seasoning and sweet sake alcohol!
* You can use nori to prepare Japanese food at home with rice, vegetables, meat.... or to cook something more Western: buttered toasts topped with nori, spicy pasta with nori, seaweed and cheese soufflé, or simply as a topping on a salad!
* Do you not cook much yourself? Just enjoy nori as a snack; that's also part of the food culture.
* These days, Japanese people particularly enjoy Yamamoto Noriten's yakinori and ajitsuke nori while Westerners often buy their otsumami nori.
* Any way you look at it, nori is great!
* Yamamoto Noriten, the taste of Japan!

We're starting out with our first Japanese street food by trying a nice Uni Ikura Don also known as sea urchin and salmon roe bowl. This is the perfect street food to try in Japan in the morning for breakfast! You can also eat amazing fresh sashimi in this sushi restaurant, but I preferred the bowl of salmon roe and sea urchin.
After this, we found the most INSANE Sashimi stall, serving up fresh tuna sashimi by the cube, sliced right in front of you! It doesn't get any better than this! It is served to you with a little soy and wasabi, absolutely perfect!
After the amazing tuna sashimi, we went deeper into the Tsukiji market to find some other Japanese street food, and found a stall selling more raw Japanese seafood, and decided to try the raw scallops. They were super tasty!
After this we found a stall selling a dish known as Kuromon don, a rich beef offal stew over top of rice and topped with green onions. It was very delicious and super fun to enjoy right on the street! You just pull up a chair and sit down on the counter and watch them scoop up this delicious Japanese street food right before your eyes!
After this, we went for a famous bowl of ramen noodles in Japan, at Ichiran ramen. It is a Tonkatsu style broth, so quite creamy and rich, and the best part is how you can customize it exactly how you want it, with different levels of spiciness and richness, all from a machine!
After this amazing ramen, we went for a once in a lifetime Sushi experience at Nishi-azabu Kamikura. It wasn't cheap, but it was an amazing experience that you will always remember. The master chef cuts each piece of raw fish for you and creates Sushi for you individually and serves it to you by hand. It's unforgettable and you can taste new flavours and textures with each piece.

Japanese Street Food - GIANT OYSTER and Seafood Tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan!
Tsukiji Market in Tokyo is one of the best places for Japanese street food!

Sadly, there was a recent fire in the outer Tsukiji Market at a legendary ramen shop. Luckily no one has been reported injured from the fire, but it is very sad to see some legendary Japanese street food stalls completely destroyed.
Ok, now back to the information from this Japanese street food tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo!
If you’re a food lover, there’s now way you’re going to visit Tokyo without a trip to Tsukiji Market. The inner part of the market is where you’ll find all the fresh seafood - the fish market part of the market. The outer part of the market is where you’ll find all sorts of Japanese street food snacks, some of which are seafood, others are not, and where you’ll find restaurants and all sorts of market stalls.
Here’s the list of everything I ate and where during this Japanese food tour in Tokyo (also, everything is on this map:
Kitsuneya - legendary organ stew
Address: 4 Chome-9-12 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Organ stew - 850 JPY ($7.70) per bowl
Sea urchin (uni) - 500 JPY ($4.53)
Nishin Tasuke
Eel skewer - 200 JPY ($1.81) per skewer
Ajino Hamato
Corn fishcake - 300 JPY ($2.71)
Tsukiji Saito Fisheries
Giant oyster - 1,400 JPY ($12.68)
Home-style Sushi - 本種
Large plate sushi - 1,500 JPY ($13.59)
Chirashi don - 900 JPY ($8.15)
Matcha ice cream - 400 JPY ($3.62)
Tamago (sweet egg omelet) - 100 JPY ($0.91)
Blowtorched scallop - 1,000 JPY ($9.05)
Tenfusa Tempura - amazing small restaurant for tempura
Address: 5 Chome-2-1 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Total price - 2,500 JPY ($22.64)
This tour includes 10 different Japanese street foods. Probably my favorite thing of the entire day was the giant oysters, the amazing home style sushi, and the blowtorched seafood scallop. But really Tsukiji Market is a Japanese food paradise and a seafood lover's dream come true.
When you visit Tokyo, I hope you have an amazing time eating at Tsukiji Market!

Tokyo Street Food Ramen at Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上)
Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) serves satisfying Japanese street food ramen in Tokyo. Get more details here:
A bowl of Ramen, is one of the most popular things to eat in Japan. It's not only soothing and satisfying, but it's also filling, extremely tasty, and often times one of the most affordable meals in Japan. In Tokyo, you'll find a restaurant that serves ramen at nearly every corner - in fact you can't even walk more than a few meters without bumping into another ramen restaurant. I ate a number of different types of ramen while I was in Tokyo, but the one that stood out to me the most, was the long-standing street food stall just outside of the Tsukiji market, known as Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上).
Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) has been around for a long time, and I think it's safe to say that they have served thousands and thousands of bowls of delicious ramen to hungry passerby's. The restaurant is located on the side of the sidewalk, where there's a continual flow of pedestrian traffic all day long - the position is great. Starting from early in the morning Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) has a line of people waiting to be served, but luckily it usually goes very fast as people slurp down their bowls of ramen as fast as possible and continue on.
Street food in Japan it's not actually very common - much of the food is served from restaurants - so Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) was one of the few street food restaurants that I ate at while I was in Tokyo. There are many different types of Japanese ramen; Some types have buttery and creamy broth, but at Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) they serve what's known as shoyu ramen, which is the clear broth, seasoned with a hint of soy sauce. For myself, this is one of my favorite versions of ramen, mainly because it doesn't feel too greasy or heavy, but it just goes down smoothly and the flavors are just so clean.
So anyway, I had already walked past Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上) one time before eating there, and I knew it was a place I had to try. The best thing is, you don't need to choose what to eat, they only serve one thing, the shoyu ramen. After you pay, it just takes a minute or two before the ramen master dishes out your bowl, which is always served piping hot. There is no seating, but they just have a couple of standing tables, where you can rest your bowl of ramen, season it appropriately, and get straight to digging in. For myself, it's the raw minced garlic that really makes a bowl of Japanese ramen incredible. Without raw garlic I wouldn't like it nearly as much: the garlic elevates it to new levels. I made sure to add a generous supply of raw garlic to my bowl of ramen, and that made all the difference.
The ramen noodles came topped with a few slices of pork, some pickled bamboo shoots, and a handful of sliced leeks and green onions. Like I mentioned before, the broth was clear and smooth and not too oily, which is something I really liked. Again, season with raw garlic, a hint of black pepper and chili, it was perfect. When you visit Tokyo, you have to have a bowl of ramen at Chuka Soba Inoue (中華そば 井上). It might not be the absolute best tasting ramen in Tokyo, but the Japanese street food atmosphere on the outskirts of Tsukiji, combined with a piping hot bowl of classic tasting ramen, is a wonderful experience. It was also winter when I went, and quite cold outside, so nothing satisfying like a hot bowl of soup.

Sapporo is famous for seafood. It has the best seafood in Japan. It is unbelievably fresh! There are 2 morning seafood markets to visit and both are FULL of delicious seafood.
This seafood tour video was filmed in 2 seafood street food markets, the Chuo Ichiba crab market, and the Nijo Ichiba seafood market. Both have a huge amount of fresh seafood and Japanese street food and snacks to try! This is true Hokkaido food!
First up, we're going on a morning adventure to try some of the best and freshest crab and seafood in the world! Starting out at the Chuo Ichiba crab market, we're grabbing a HUGE Hanasaki SPIKY crab, a big KING crab, and a seasonal hairy crab as well. They are FRESH and ALIVE, and you can choose what you like! We also picked up some salmon eggs!
Then, we bring all the seafood to BiBiBi restaurant just down the street and have a FEAST! This is where we meet chef Akira and get invited inside his kitchen to watch the traditional seafood Japanese recipes! He boils them and serves them straight up as is! The crab meat was some of the juiciest I've ever had! He also showed us how to make squid sashimi! The squid sashimi was delicious!

After this, we're going to the Nijo Market in Sapporo to go for a SAPPORO Seafood Market Tour! Here, you can find all varieties of Japanese seafood! First, we try some sea urchin and salmon roe ikura don! A famous specialty in Sapporo, the kaisen don chirashi bowl is one of the best street foods to try! Usually served in local markets like this one, going for a bowl is a great way to start your day! Uni is an AMAZING flavour you need to try! I also ordered a delicious bowl of crab miso soup!

Next up, we're going for a SUSHI boat! Actually, a sashimi boat! We found a small sushi bar in the Nijo Seafood market serving up delicious fish sashimi and the best sushi in sapporo. I ordered the fatty toro tuna, salmon, salmon roe ikura, sea urchin uni, and a lot more! It was incredibly delicious!

And to finish our street food tour of Sapporo, we're going for a king crab hot pot! Here, a rich miso crab stock is boiled and combined with nice big snow crab legs! It's served with crab tempura as well! Delicious!
