My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Moses, Aaron and Miriam
Level: Basic
Moses, Aaron and Miriam were the leaders of the Children of Israel at a pivotal time in our history: the Exodus from Egypt and the forty years of wandering in the desert before the people entered the Promised Land.
An entire book could be written on the stories of these three people. Indeed, four books have already been written: the biblical books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, which tell the story of their life and times. This page can only begin to scratch the surface.
The history below is derived from written Torah, Talmud, Midrash and other sources. Where information comes directly from the Bible, I have provided citations.
As with the stories of the patriarchs, modern scholars question the historical accuracy of this information; however, scholars also claimed that the Torah could not have been written at that time because alphabetic writing did not exist and then archaeologists dug up 4000 year old samples of alphabetic writing.
Moses
Moses was the greatest prophet, leader and teacher that Judaism has ever known. In fact, one of Rambam's 13 Principles of Faith is the belief that Moses' prophecies are true, and that he was the greatest of the prophets. He is called Moshe Rabbeinu, that is, Moses, Our Teacher/Rabbi. Interestingly, the numerical value of Moshe Rabbeinu is 613: the number of mitzvot that Moses taught the Children of Israel! He is described as the only person who ever knew G-d face-to-face (Deut. 34:10) and mouth-to-mouth (Num. 12:8), which means that G-d spoke to Moses directly, in plain language, not through visions and dreams, as G-d communicated with other prophets.
Moses was born on 7 Adar in the year 2368 from Creation (circa 1400 BCE), the son of Amram, a member of the tribe of Levi, and Yocheved, Levi's daughter (Ex. 6:16-20). Unlike the heroes of many other ancient cultures, Moses did not have a miraculous birth. Amram married Yocheved, and she conceived, and she gave birth (Ex. 2:1-2). The only unusual thing about his birth is Yocheved's advanced age: Yocheved was born while Jacob and his family were entering Egypt, so she was 130 when Moses was born. His father named him Chaver, and his grandfather called him Avigdor, but he is known to history as Moses, a name given to him by Pharaoh's daughter.
The name Moses comes from a root meaning take out, because Moses was taken out of the river (Ex. 2:10). Some modern scholars point out that the root M-S-S in Egyptian means son of as in the name Ramases (son of Ra), but it is worth noting that Moses' name in Hebrew is M-Sh-H, not M-S-S. According to one Jewish source, Pharaoh's daughter actually named him Minios, which means drawn out in Egyptian, and the name Moshe (Moses) was a Hebrew translation of that name, just as a Russian immigrant named Ivan might change his name to the English equivalent, John.
Moses was born in a very difficult time: Pharaoh had ordered that all male children born to the Hebrew slaves should be drowned in the river (Ex. 1:22). Yocheved hid Moses for three months, and when she could no longer hide him, she put him in a little ark and placed it on the river where Pharaoh's daughter bathed (Ex. 2:2-3). Pharaoh's daughter found the child and had compassion on him (Ex. 2:6). At the suggestion of Moses' sister Miriam, Pharaoh's daughter hired Yocheved to nurse Moses until he was weaned (Ex. 2:7-10). Yocheved instilled in Moses a knowledge of his heritage and a love of his people that could not be erased by the 40 years he spent in the antisemitic court of Pharaoh.

6. Pillar Reveals Egyptian Queen
A recent find has helped us understand the life and chain of royalty during Egypt’s fifth dynasty. While excavating part of the necropolis of Saqqara, researchers found a tomb dedicated to a woman historians had never before heard of. Named Setibhor, it is believed that she was the king’s principal consort. An obelisk in the tomb revealed her titles and name and placed her as the queen of the Old Kingdom during King Djedkare Isesi’s reign during the fifth century. Nearby, a second find has been made as of 2018, changing how we view the status of higher class nobles in the Old Kingdom.
5. What Happened to Thutmose?
Over thirty five hundred years ago, Crown Prince Thutmose was set to become king of Egypt. Unfortunately, the boy died before he could become pharaoh, causing his younger brother to take the throne. Thutmose was sealed in a tomb and left to rest in peace until, for some reason, his resting place was opened during the reign of King Tutankhamun and resealed. For some time, researchers have not known why the tomb was opened but recently they discovered an interesting theory. Thutmose’s brother removed many of the traditional Egyptian temples and banned certain religious practices, angering the populus.
4. A Trojan Prince Forgery
On October 7, 2017, it was announced that archaeologists had deciphered the text of a massive stone inscription. The thirty two hundred year old piece was over ninety five feet long and incredibly heavy and has been wrought with controversy since its discovery. In an unfortunate accident, the stone was completely destroyed in the 19th century, leaving no openings to study its meaning. In a stroke of pure luck, a detailed copy was found in the estate of the late famed archaeologist James Mellaart. The copy was studied and revealed to contain stories of sea people conquering a kingdom known as Mira in western Turkey ruled by King Kupantakuruntas. In a different take on what historians have always believed, the inscription also likes Kupantakurutas as an unofficial king of Troy, as well, leading and protecting the country from his seat in Turkey.
3. Monastery of Princess Aebbe
Aebbe of Coldingham, daughter of pagan King Aethelfrith of Bernicia and Acha of Deira, was one of the most important Anglo Saxon women due to her strength and refusal to partake in social norms she found to be unfair. After her father’s death, Aebbe and her family fled to Dál Riata, where they converted to Christianity. When her brother reclaimed the throne, they began converting the locals to Christianity as well. Aebbe constructed and ran a monastery to help keep conflicts down and spread the religion. It was from this monastery where Aebbe is said to have refused marriage despite being one of the most eligible brides in the entire land. In fact, it is said that she prayed so hard against marriage that the waters surrounding the monastery rose so high that it prevented a prince from coming to her for three days and caused him to lose interest.
2. Anastasia Nikolaevna
Anastasia Nikolaevna was the daughter of Tsar Nicholas Romanov of Russia, also known as Nicholas II. The Grand Duchess lived a simple life and was known for being mischievous and a bit troublesome, with stories of her exploits including her tripping servants and playing pranks on her tutors. As World War I raged on, unrest settled in Russia, leading to a civil war. The bolsheviks, a socialist leaning group lead by Vladimir Lenin, soon arrested the Romanovs, confining them at Tsarskoye Selo. Rescuing groups came and bizarrely found the structure empty and the royal family gone without a trace.
1. No Royal Blood
In 2012, a group of archaeologists discovered the skeleton of Richard III buried beneath a carpark in Leicester. A DNA test was conducted to prove the bones belonged to the deceased royal to verify his identity; this routine practice revealed something incredibly interesting. While checking into the male lineage of the late king, they discovered a line had been broken by an adulterous affair within the descendants of Henry Somerset, the 5th Duke of Beaufort. This affair likely happened around the time of king Edward III and calls into question whether kings like king Henry Henry VI, Henry VII and Henry VIII had any right to the throne at all since they likely did not have royal blood. This finding even impacts the current royal family, as they have a direct bloodline to the Tudors, who were also impacted. Had this been discovered the history of the entire world would have likely gone very differently, as none of the world leaders we know would have ended up where they are now.

House of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus-Turkey
The House of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic and Muslim shrine located on Mt. Koressos in the vicinity of Ephesus, Turkey. The house was discovered in the 19th century by following the descriptions in the reported visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774–1824), a paralyzed German Roman Catholic nun and visionary, which were published as a book by Clemens Brentano after her death. One of Emmerich's accounts was a description of the house the Apostle John had built in Ephesus for Mary, the mother of Jesus, where she had lived to the end of her life.
Archaeologists who have examined the building believe most of the building dates from the 6th or 7th century but its foundations are much older and may well date from the 1st century AD, the time of Mary. The Catholic Church has never come out in favor or against the authenticity of the house, but nevertheless maintains a steady flow of pilgrims since its discovery.

The Egyptian House of David 3:45 sec
Many academicians have noted the similarities between the Ancient Egyptian folktale of Sinuhe and the biblical account of David and Goliath. The duel between David and Goliath, where the tribal David's reputation as a man of war, is an adaptation of a much-admired Egyptian literary work, known as the Autobiography of Sinhue, which is a story from of Egyptian literature. The Sinhue is the original Text of 2 Samuel 8:5,6) where Thutmose III, same as David struck down twenty-two thousand philistines.
The Bible is basically a historical work & has become distorted over time.
The Egyptian record reads I grant thee by decree the earth in its length and breadth. The tribes of the East and those of the West ... that thy conquests may embrace all lands ... I ordain that all aggressors arising against thee shall fail.
In Psalm 2:7, I will proclaim the decree ... 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father ... I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule them.
The very word Zion, is used to designate the holy ground to the north of Jerusalem from the time of King David or Thutmose III, & is of itself has Egyptian origin.
Thutmose III was married to Merit-ra, and in an official ceremony confirmed (cf., Psalm 2:7) he was the Pharaoh and adopted as the son of Amun.
Thutmose III led a contingent of men to Kadesh (the present day site of Jerusalem), and as the Bible describes, he took the stronghold of Zion.
The name Zlon is a Egyptian synonym for the City of David. It is Mentioned 26 times in the Tanakh or Torah. The biblical phrase Daughter of Tzion”, is a reference to Mount Moriah (the Temple Mount) in Jerusalem.
In the New Testament the Daughter of Zion is the bride of Christ.
In the Rastafari movement, Zion stands for a utopian place of unity, peace and freedom, as opposed to Babylon, a place of evil.
The Rastafari proclaims Zion, as reference to Ethiopia, the original birthplace of humankind, and from the beginning of the movement calls to repatriation to Zion.
