In the second part of our day in Rotorua we are relaxing at one of the Rotorua hot pools, the Waikite Valley Hot Springs. The complex of hot springs in Rotorua is only a short drive away from the city and fed with natural geothermal water. If you want to experience geothermal Rotorua then Waikite Valley is a great place to do so. Waikite Valley Thermal Pools is also one of the more affordable hot pools in New Zealand with even a campground and a bush walk at these hot springs in New Zealand. The Waikite Valley Hot Pools are well worth considering out of all the New Zealand hot springs.

Waikite Valley Thermal Pools
Experience the ‘Living Waters’ of the Te Manaroa Spring at Waikite Valley Thermal Pools. This pure spring water - the largest single source of 100% pure boiling water in New Zealand - cascades into 10 different pools at temperatures of 35-40°C.
Hours 10am to 9pm
Months Open all year
Price Range $20.00 - $28.00 (New Zealand dollar)
The pure natural calcite-laden thermal water at Waikite Valley Thermal Pools is sourced from the spectacular Te Manaroa Spring. To enhance the thermal bathing experience, all pools are emptied, cleaned and refilled daily – this means visitors won't find bathing water this pure anywhere else in New Zealand!
Added bonuses are the heated changing facilities with high pressure hot showers, eco-trail to the 98°C Te Manaroa Spring, licensed café, and an adjoining 27-site camp ground.
Situated 25 minutes south of Rotorua, 6km off SH5, Waikite Valley Thermal Pools has options for all from private pools, sit ‘n’ soak, splash pool and toddlers’ beach area. Hours are 10am-9pm 364 days a year. The first pool is drained nightly at 8:30pm.

Review of Waikite Valley thermal pools (Rotorua NZ), 28km south or Rotorua city centre, you can turn off from Wai O Tapu and go along Waikite Valley road to these hot pools, which come from the Manaroa thermal spring. It was affordable! not too expensive, and it's an ideal rainy day activity for Rotorua. It's a bit like going to whakaari white island!

Great pools to relax. Simple camping ground as well. Book a few days ahead if you want to stay here for a night or two. Powered and non powered sites. We are staying here every here a few days. Love it!

A few days in Rotorua
We spent a couple of days in Rotorua after our visit to Hobbiton. We visited Kuirau Park and Redwoods Forest which are both free things to do in Rotorua.
The following day was our anniversary so we spent the whole day at Waikite Valley Thermal Pools. They have fantastic outdoor pools and a great small campsite. A real hidden gem in New Zealand.

Hot Pool - Rotorua - New Zealand
One of my favorite Road Trip was the Rotorua in the North Island. If there is a trip with Hot Pool I'm always in. If you are in New Zealand you must go to those Natural Hot Pool Spa. If you don't know where it is it well just right down Rotorua Hot Spring and my advice will be for you to chose the hostel that offers Hot Pools I honestly tried to go to a natural one but for real some of them stinks.
In case you decide to try the Natural Hot spring Pool be careful to your personal belongings or will have a really bad surprise.
