All Water Slides at Wet 'n' Wild! (GoPro)
All water slides at Wet n Wild North Shields • Alle Rutschen im Wet 'n Wild North Shields • Alle waterglijbanen van Wet 'n' Wild North Shields
~
In this video, we show you all flumes at Wet 'n Wild North Shields (Wet n Wild Newcastle), United Kingdom. The indoor water park is outfitted with a total of 10 water slides that look similar at first glance - almost all of them are green pipes - but provide a very different sliding experience. While flumes like The Tempest or The Mistral offer quite a family-friendly ride, attractions like The Tornado with its intertwining speed slides or the Kamikaze with its insanely steep drop are dedicated to the thrill-seekers. We really enjoyed our day at Wet n Wild!

A stroll around Tynemouth on the North East Coast of England
This video shows some of the landmarks around the town of Tynemouth on the North east Coast of England on the morning of 5th January 2015.
In a departure from my usual railway-dominated videos, this one shows mainly local attractions and sights around Tynemouth, about a mile or so from my home at Marden, North Shields, with the local railways featured at the end.
Sights include the seafront, long sands, the open air swimming pool, the castle and priory, Tynemouth Village, Railway station and buildings and more.
Some sights have been omitted due to time constraints notably Northumberland Park (which is closed and being re-developed by the local council), the golf course, Holy Saviors Church and the aquarium.
Whitlath Exegesis by Robin Webb Shimmer 2012
An animation produced by Robin Webb with the help of children from Coquet Park Primary School & participants from Age UK in Whitley Bay as well as teenagers from VODA in Shiremoor.
The animation is based on the geological history of the Whitley Bay area and was produced so it could be projected onto the side of the Waves Leisure Centre swimming pool as part of the Shimmer Festival in the town. It was commissioned by North Tyneside Council and part funded by the Arts Council England.
The film covers a vast amount of geological history of not only the region but also of the planet's origins and how life may have begun and further evolved. From the stars and planets forming, through microbes and the first sparks of life, life in the sea, dinosaurs, asteroids and extinctions, volcanoes, erosion by the sea, the ice age right through to the emergence of humans to the present day.
The film was made as a participatory project by around 60 5 and 6 year olds from Coquet Park Primary school, about 10 teenagers from the Voluntary Organisations Development Agency and 5 participants from Age UK in Whitley Bay. The children made plasticine dinosaurs, microbes and fish from pebbles and seaweed, some fantastic dinosaurs on sticks and painted backgrounds with Papier-mâché volcanoes, The volunteers made a very long background which they populated with mammoths and sea lions, huge blocks of ice and lots of trees, houses, people, boats, planes and of course iconic buildings like the lighthouse and the Spanish City Dome. The people from Age UK took many thousands of photographs of Whitley Bay looking at geological features and the actions of the waves on the beach, the weather and the vegetation in the area. Everybody contributed to the soundtrack of the finished animation, which also features the sound of the sea in Whitley Bay and some original music by Robin Webb.
The format ratio of the video was determined by the space that the film was projected onto which is wider than standard broadcast or video ratios, it was projected at 2048 x 768 but is reproduced here at a more standard ratio. During the festival it was projected using 2 large format 10000 lumen projectors onto red brick.

Boardwalk Cafe Whitley Bay... Coast Regen Council Plans Boardwalk Replacement
Is this a good place for steps and a temporary wooden kiosk?
North Tyneside Council propose pulling down the Boardwalk Cafe on Whitley Bay seafront, and putting a temporary wooden kiosk at the bottom of this road ....and nice ornamental steps...have they ever considered big waves? Here is what it looked like an HOUR after High Tide.. you can see by the water on the road how high the waves came...and on the plans we saw at the public consultaion, no barrier or sea wall???? I wonder if the architect had ever been down there when the seas are high?
