הכותל המערבי כולל תמונות עתיקות The Western Wall is located in the Old City of
Jerusalem at the foot of the western side of the Temple Mount. It is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard and is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism outside of the Temple Mount itself. Just over half the wall, including its 17 courses located below street level, dates from the end of the Second Temple period, being constructed around 19 BCE by Herod the Great. The remaining layers were added from the 7th century onwards. The Western Wall refers not only to the exposed section facing a large plaza in the Jewish Quarter, but also to the sections concealed behind structures running along the whole length of the Temple Mount, such as the Little Western Wall - a 25 ft (8 m) section in the Muslim Quarter.

Israel Plans Western Wall Trump Train Station
Israel's transportation minister pushed ahead with a plan Wednesday to dig a railway tunnel under Jerusalem's Old City. It would pass near sites holy to Jews, Christians and Muslims, and end at the Western Wall with a station named after President Donald Trump. Previous excavations by Israel near the holy site, which is the spiritual epicenter of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, have sparked violent Palestinian protests. Trump's announcement of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital enraged the Palestinians and much of the Muslim world.

The new fast train from Jerusalem - BBC News
It's been a long time coming, but Israeli commuters are finally able to board double-decker high-speed trains on a new link from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
Construction has been plagued by engineering and planning challenges, and the last section of the line is still not open. The route has also angered some Palestinians, as part of the track runs in tunnels under the occupied West Bank.
Transport Minister Yisrael Katz hopes it will eventually whisk passengers from secular, liberal Tel Aviv to a Donald Trump Station next to the Western Wall, one of Judaism's holiest sites.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Israel’s transportation minister is pushing ahead with a plan to dig a railway tunnel under Jerusalem’s Old City, passing near sites holy to Jews, Christians and Muslims — and ending at the Western Wall with a station named after President Donald Trump.
Yisrael Katz’s plan, currently in the initial stages, involves constructing two underground stations and excavating over 2 miles (3 kilometers) of tunnel beneath downtown Jerusalem and under the politically sensitive Old City. The project would extend Jerusalem’s soon-to-open high-speed rail line from Tel Aviv to the Western Wall, the holiest site where Jews can pray.

The Western Wall in Jerusalem: Israel
Visit us at
The attractions in Jerusalem are pretty much covered by the many writings about the country. Even though its history is well-documented, and its attractions, well-known by people from all over the world, Jerusalem never fails to leave tourists in a sense of awe and wonder after seeing it with their own eyes.
Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike are drawn to Jerusalem as some of their faith's most important structures can be found here. The Western Wall of Jerusalem is a major part of the Jewish faith, as is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians and the Al-Aqsa Mosque for followers of Islam. Altogether, they're some of the best attractions in Jerusalem and its most iconic religious landmarks. It doesn't matter which faith you belong to as mere sight of them will take your breath away.
A Jewish Jerusalem Attraction: The Western Wall
The Western Wall in Jerusalem was a simple structure built 2,000 years ago to support the outer reaches of Temple Mount. On the same area, the Second Temple stood since 520 BC. The Second Temple was destroyed in 70 AD and the Jews were exiled to the same location soon after. When they returned from exile, they purposefully avoided the Temple Mount out of fear of stepping into the Holy of Holies, a sacred inner sanctum where only the high priests were allowed.
And so the Jews started to pray on the outer facade of the Western Wall following their return from exile. Rabbinical texts state that the divine presence called shechina never left the wall, considering it the holiest Jewish site. From these historical beginnings came the transformation of the Western Wall into one of the must-see attractions in Jerusalem and a pilgrimage site for Jews.
The Western Wall, despite its Jewish roots, is open for all faiths all day, all year. Wearing a modest attire is recommended for visiting tourists but a kippa is definitely a requirement before seeing this Jerusalem attraction. Taking photos is okay as long as you stay discreet, but it is not advisable during Shabbat as a sign of respect.
A Christian Jerusalem Attraction: Church of the Holy Sepulchre
It is the Christian counterpart of the Western Wall for Jews and is therefore considered the holiest site for Christians found in Jerusalem. In the Christian faith, the church stands on the Cavalry where Jesus was nailed to the cross, died, and was resurrected. Christians from around the world recognize the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as a sacred site for pilgrimage, as well as one of the best attractions in Jerusalem.
An Islamic Jerusalem Attraction: Al-Aqsa Mosque
There are conflicting accounts about the history of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Some believe it was originally a 6th century Byzantine church that was transformed into a mosque. But to the followers of Islam, the mosque was built as it is during the 8th century by the son of Abd Al-Malik. Not much from its original structure after it was destroyed twice by earthquakes within 60 years after construction. The current Al-Aqsa Mosque is a result of restorative efforts. Unlike the Dome of the Rock, the Al-Aqsa Mosque functions fully as a house of worship, capable of accommodating 5,000 people at a time. For Muslims, it is the most-respected attraction in Jerusalem.

HATIKVAH by IDF (Israel Defense Forces) at Western Wall
Hope. HATIKVAH at the Kotel, Jerusalem: As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart, With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion, Then our hope - the two-thousand-year-old hope - will not be lost: To be a free people in our land, The land of Zion and Jerusalem.
We were granted our right to exist by the God of our fathers at the glimmer of the dawn of human civilization 4000 years ago! And so it is that the Jewish people have an historic, eternal and inalienable right to Eretz Yisrael, the land of our forefathers. And for that right, which has been sanctified in Jewish blood from generation to generation, we have paid a price unequaled in the annals of the nations.

Israel Honors Trump With Jerusalem Rail Station Name
Israeli Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz told CNN, a planned high-speed rail station in the Old City of Jerusalem will be named after President Donald Trump.
The station will be built inside the walls of the Old City. It will drop off passengers near the Dung Gate, which leads straight to the Western Wall, the holiest site at which Jews can pray.
Trump made history in early May when he became the first sitting US president to visit the Western Wall. In apparent recognition of the sensitivity of his visit, he did so without any Israeli government officials.
