Flooding at Valley of Fire
After heavy rains on April 9-10, sections of the White Domes Trail and Prospect Trail turned into flowing rivers. Flash flooding is a rare event that has the potential to quickly become very dangerous, and produce serious damage. White Domes Road is particularly prone to flash flooding, and often the first area of the park to close during major storms. The normally bone-dry Mojave Desert can be at its most formidable during floods.

Valley of Fire is spectacular park outside of Las Vegas. Unusual sandstone formations have eroding into animal and other fantastic forms. The rocks invite adults and children to rumble over them and there are a rainbow of colors that paint the park so bring a camera. There are a series of areas that are can't be missed. Take the road that circles through the camping area near Arch Rock to view the sand stone formations with amazing forms and colors. Then proceed past the Visitor Center to the Mouse Tanks parking area. Walk the trail to the pictographs that the Anasazi have left for you. Continue on the road to White Domes through the unique vibrantly rock colors. Take the Valley of Fire exit off of I15 at the Moapa Reservation. then continue NV Route 169 to the Park.

Hiking Granite Mountain - Washington State 2017
On this day (May 2017), I hiked and explored Granite Mountain located in Snoqualmie Region, Washington State along the I-90. The views from the summit are astonishing, however, it comes at a price with the mountain nearly 1000 feet gain per mile. The hike is about 8.6 miles round trip and its highest point is 5,629 feet (1,716 meters). This is an extremely tough hike but worth the views if anyone makes it to the top of the summit. Also, dogs are allowed on the hike, however, must be kept on a leash.

In 2006, we drove up from Hoover Dam to the Valley of Fire, a Nevada state park in a desert vista full of red rock formations. This was filmed with a Sony HC1 camera handheld and re-edited in 2010 using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.

American Southwest - Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Death Valley, Valley of Fire
Exploring the magnificent nature of the American Southwest, we started off in Las Vegas and explored the beautiful rock formations of the Valley or Fire with its various rock colours and shapes. The Bee Hives, the Rainbow Vista, the White Domes Trail and last, but not least the stunning views of the Fire Wave are just a few examples of this wonderful park.
Next we explored the desert of California, visiting Zabriskie Point and Death Valley. Our roadtrip continued to one of the most popular canyons worldwide: the Grand Canyon with its incredible colours and immensive width. Only to be followed by the amazing views of the Horseshoe Bend and the formidable play of colours at the Lower Antilope Canyon.
The beautiful landscape of the American Southwest has enchanted us, we hope this video offers you a first impression of the majestic views of this extraordinary scenery.
