Summer in Washington D.C. - Why You Should Visit
Summer in Washington D.C. - A travel vlog by Peartree Family. We traveled to D.C. and wanted to show how beautiful it is in the summer. We visited the National Mall, including the White House, the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. Then, we ate at Buredo for sushi burritos, and Milk Bar (also owners of Momofuku next door). Lastly, we went to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.

Apollo - one of Europe's most beautiful butterflies
Not only butterfly collectors, but also scientists have an intense interest in the magnificent creature. But never before has the life of this endangered species and its development from egg to caterpillar, then cocoon and finally as a complete butterfly, been so fascinatingly and excitingly presented. This documentary includes unique slow-motion sequences of the Apollo in flight, dramatic footage of its struggle in the face of rain and storm, hitherto unobserved wild bee attacks, fighting for the last drops of nectar from flowers.
Unfortunately, the beautiful Apollo cannot be spotted in many of its former habitats between Siberia and France, as it has practically become extinct in most regions since the middle of the last century. On its search for light, warmth and nutrition, there are few refuges where it can find an intact environment. One of the last areas in which the Apollo can be found, and at the same time home to the largest interrelated population in Germany, is the Mosel Valley. Here are the Apollo's sun terraces.
Lebanon Tour 2017 Travel V log
Lebanon (Listeni/ˈlɛbənɒn/; Arabic: لبنان Libnān; Lebanese pronunciation: [lɪbˈnæːn]; French: Liban), officially known as the Lebanese Republic[nb 2] (Arabic: الجمهورية اللبنانية al-Jumhūrīyah al-Lubnānīyah; Lebanese pronunciation: [elˈʒʊmhuːɾɪjje l.ˈlɪbnæːnɪjje]; French: République libanaise), is a sovereign state in Western Asia. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south, while Cyprus is west across the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon's location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland facilitated its rich history and shaped a cultural identity of religious and ethnic diversity.[9] At just 10,452 km2 (4,036 sq. mi.), it is the smallest recognized country on the entire mainland Asian continent.[nb 3][10][11]
The earliest evidence of civilization in Lebanon dates back more than seven thousand years, predating recorded history.[12] Lebanon was the home of the Canaanites/Phoenicians and their kingdoms, a maritime culture that flourished for over a thousand years (c. 1550–539 BC). In 64 BC, the region came under the rule of the Roman Empire, and eventually became one of the Empire's leading centers of Christianity. In the Mount Lebanon range a monastic tradition known as the Maronite Church was established. As the Arab Muslims conquered the region, the Maronites held onto their religion and identity. However, a new religious group, the Druze, established themselves in Mount Lebanon as well, generating a religious divide that has lasted for centuries. During the Crusades, the Maronites re-established contact with the Roman Catholic Church and asserted their communion with Rome. The ties they established with the Latins have influenced the region into the modern era.
The region eventually was ruled by the Ottoman Empire from 1516 to 1918. Following the collapse of the empire after World War I, the five provinces that constitute modern Lebanon came under the French Mandate of Lebanon. The French expanded the borders of the Mount Lebanon Governorate, which was mostly populated by Maronites and Druze, to include more Muslims. Lebanon gained independence in 1943, establishing confessionalism, a unique, Consociationalism-type of political system with a power-sharing mechanism based on religious communities. Bechara El Khoury, President of Lebanon during the independence, Riad El-Solh, first Lebanese prime minister and Emir Majid Arslan II, first Lebanese minister of defence, are considered the founders of the modern Republic of Lebanon and are national heroes for having led the country's independence. Foreign troops withdrew completely from Lebanon on 31 December 1946.[13] Lebanon has been a member of the Organisation internationale de la francophonie since 1973.
Despite its small size,[14] the country has developed a well-known culture and has been highly influential in the Arab world. Before the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), the country experienced a period of relative calm and renowned prosperity, driven by tourism, agriculture, commerce, and banking.[15] Because of its financial power and diversity in its heyday, Lebanon was referred to as the Switzerland of the East during the 1960s,[16] and its capital, Beirut, attracted so many tourists that it was known as the Paris of the Middle East.[17] At the end of the war, there were extensive efforts to revive the economy and rebuild national infrastructure.[18] In spite of these troubles, Lebanon has the highest Human Development Index and GDP per capita in the Arab world, to the exclusion of the oil-rich economies of the Persian Gulf.
Lebanon has a moderate Mediterranean climate. In coastal areas, winters are generally cool and rainy whilst summers are hot and humid. In more elevated areas, temperatures usually drop below freezing during the winter with heavy snow cover that remains until early summer on the higher mountaintops.[86][89] Although most of Lebanon receives a relatively large amount of rainfall, when measured annually in comparison to its arid surroundings, certain areas in north-eastern Lebanon receive little because of rain shadow created by the high peaks of the western mountain range.

Talad Rot Fai (ตลาดนัดรถไฟ), also known as the Train night market in Bangkok, or Talad Rot Fai in Thai, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok - this branch located at Ratchada. Here’s a map link:
By the way, this is Part 2 of this Night Market Thai street food tour. You can watch the gigantic tom yum challenge here:
The market is known for its unique Thai street food, some of the snacks and dishes which are invented there and you won’t find anywhere else in Bangkok.
Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) at Diaw Maekhlong Restaurant (ร้านเตี๋ยวแม่กลอง) - Laeng saeb, a dish of pork bones and ridiculous amounts of green chilies is one of the most popular Thai street food inventions at Talad Rot Fai, and this is mainly what I came to eat. The restaurant is located at the back of the market, and they have a few different sizes you can choose from.
XXL Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) - Price - 599 THB ($18.96) - We went straight for the XXL size, a massive platter of pork bones, soup, insane amounts of green chilies and the soup broth. Of all the Thai street food I’ve eaten, this is one of the most unbelievable and insanely giant street foods of Thailand I’ve ever seen or eaten. Although it’s way more than I ever care to eat again in one sitting, it’s actually a really good dish.
Crispy butter (เนยกรอบ) - 35 THB ($1.11)
Stir fried ice cream (ไอติมผัด) - 69 THB ($2.18)
Coconut shake (น้ำมะพร้าวปั่น) - 35 THB ($1.11)
And that completed this Thai street food night market tour of Talad Rot Fai. It’s well worth a visit, and you can of course, order smaller sizes of laeng saeb when you’re in Bangkok. Enjoy!

Cambodian Street Food - GIANT GRILLED SQUID and MEAT MARATHON in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
Phnom Penh, Cambodia is a street food paradise!

On this Cambodian street food tour of Phnom Penh, I’ll be taking you along to Phnom Penh’s Central Market (Psar Thmei), and a landmark in the center of the city. The market itself is not too impressive in my opinion unless you’re looking for jewelry or overpriced clothes, but the street food court and market on the outside is where you want to be.
There’s an abundance of Cambodian Khmer food and Vietnamese food available at the food court of Central Market, and there’s so much to choose from that it can be challenging to decide where to eat. The colorful selection of herbs and vegetables lead me to the bun rieu noodle stall, a Vietnamese crab noodle dish. We first enjoyed a delicious bowl of bun rieu with all the herbs and chilies we wanted. Bun rieu - 7,000 KHR ($1.70)
On the edge of the market you’ll find some huge grilled squid, and it’s incredibly tempting. I thought it was a little expensive (possibly overcharged), but nevertheless, it was amazingly delicious. Giant grilled squid - $8 USD
Next up you’ll see lots of fruit shake vendors at Central Market in Phnom Penh, I had a durian avocado, and it was amazingly delicious. Durian avocado shake - 6,000 KHR ($1.46)
Cambodian oysters as they are known, but really some type of cockle are a common Cambodian street food in Phnom Penh. They are sun dried and they are actually quite tasty. Clams - 4,000 KHR ($0.97)
Yee-ay Sok Sor - sach ko ang jakak (grilled lemongrass skewers), this place was amazing for their Cambodian grilled lemongrass marinated meat skewers in baguettes. Total price - 36,500 KHR ($8.87)
Dried buffalo (sach krobei) - We had a little miscommunication and ended up ordering quite a bit of dried buffalo. The good news is that it was incredible delicious, and so we were happy to have that much! Price - 55,000 KHR ($13.37) for ½ kg.
Our final stop on this Cambodian street food tour of Phnom Penh, we walked around towards the Old Market, and bumped into a grilling meat stall that was too good to pass up. It wasn’t planned, but today turned into a Cambodian grilled meat marathon. Total meat price - 27,000 KHR ($6.56), Soursop fruit shake - 4,000 KHR ($0.97).
Cambodian has amazing street food, and Phnom Penh is a truly exciting city to eat in!
