The Tourist Attractions of Agumbe
From Sringeri we went to Agumbe. Agumbe is one of the highest peaks on Western Ghat Mountain. We first went to Barkana Fall and Yogikundi Fall. But the places were inaccessible (dense forest and leaches) and we returned after going upto some distance.
The most popular attraction of Agumbe is Sunset point. It is one of the highest points on Western Ghat Mountains. The point is located about 2 kms from Agumbe by the side of the national highway. There were small fountains flowing from the mountain. Agumbe is the home place for liontail monkeys and certain species of snakes.
We enjoyed the sceneries of sunset point for a long time. The views of mountains, sky and clouds were extremely beautiful. We also went to the Venugopal Swamy temple. This is the biggest and most popular temple in Agumbe.
