Kagoshima, Japan - Sakurajima Ferry (2019)
The Sakurajima Ferry (桜島フェリー Sakurajima Ferī) is Japanese ferry which links between Kagoshima Port and Sakurajima Port, both in Kagoshima prefecture. It is administered by Kagoshima City Ship Department.
In 1914, the eruption of Mt. Sakurajima affected the islands inhabitants. They demanded a regular ferry service between Sakurajima and Kagoshima City for emergency restoration and commuting as part of educational development. Thus, a ferry line was established by Sakurajima village office on November 19, 1934. The number of ferries increased, and nowadays there is one ferry every 10 minutes during the daytime and every hour during the night. It takes about 13 minutes to go the 3.5 km across the bay. In 2004, the ferries carried 5.5 million people and 1.64 million vehicles. The reason for there being such a large number of passengers way beyond the number of inhabitants in Sakurajima is the great reduction in the time required compared with the land route.
In the event of Sakurajima erupting, there are special places to anchor the ferry for evacuation of the inhabitants. When heavy rains caused floods in August 1993, Sakurajima ferries helped to rescue residents cut off in the Ryūgamizu area. At the time, the Ryūgamizu area had no place for ferries to anchor, so local fishing boats helped take people from the shore to the ferries. During summer, one ferry is operated as excursion ship (to enjoy sights, drinking and in some instances fireworks). Ferries can also be chartered for weddings, etc.
There is a udon restaurant called Yabukin on each ferry. In spite of that people have to eat the udon in a mere 15 minutes, it is extremely popular.
Kagoshima (鹿児島市 Kagoshima-shi, Japanese: [ka̠ɡo̞ɕima̠]) is the capital city of Kagoshima Prefecture at the south western tip of the island of Kyushu in Japan, and the largest city in the prefecture by some margin. It has been nicknamed the Naples of the Eastern world for its bay location (Aira Caldera), hot climate, and emblematic stratovolcano, Sakurajima. The city was officially founded on April 1, 1889.

Mount Aso SUPERVOLCANO - The Most Active Volcano in Japan - a MUST DO on your Japan Trip!
Mount Aso Is the most active volcano in Japan. It is also classed as a supervolcano consisting of five peaks, Nakedake, Eboshidake and more. The Aso caldera is 25km in diameter, one of the largest in the world behind Toba and Yellowstone.
You can get to Aso in the centre of Kyushu, close to Kumamoto. At present you cannot acces the crater of Nakedake due to current conditions - however check out this vide for a great insight into one of the world's most amazing sights!

Kirishima is a city in Kagoshima Prefecture. Popular for its hot springs and mountains. In the center of the city, it's easy to find steaming from ground.
- Kirishima contains multiple hot spring areas and Maruo Hot Spring is locating in the touristic center.
- Kirishima Hot Springs Market a.k.a. Kirishima Onsen Ichiba is a marketplace with shops, restaurants and a tourist information center. Snack stands boiled by hot spring have sweet potatoes, sausages, eggs, etc. In the city, public buses passing this market are main vehicles to arrive popular touristic spots for travelers.
- There are various hot spring facilities providing different experiences. Each hot spring consists of several separated properties mostly running as hotels. After using a hot spring within the hotel, enjoying a great meal served by the property is common. Or some just have a trip to the hot spring and leave. It's called as Higaeri Onsen(日帰り温泉).
- Depending on areas, a deposit in the hot spring water called as Yunohana(湯の花) can be found. Besides that, there are other various hot spring experiences. Therefore, many people consider visiting multiple places.
- On high points of Kirishima, Sakurajima(桜島) and Kaimondake(開聞岳) can be watched.
- Sakamoto Ryoma(坂本 龍馬) who lived in 19th century has been very popular in Japan. His honeymoon course in Kirishima is well-known and consistently collects people all over the country. Shiohidashi Hot Spring Ryoma Park is one of those. A free foot bath is available in this park.
- Kareigawa Station is the old wooden train station opened in 1903. Ekiben(lunchbox at train station) is very popular. Some people visit the station to buy this. The sightseeing train, Hayato's Wind(はやとの風) is in operation.
- Along the bus route, there are consecutive hot spring villages.
- Kagoshima Prefecture is also known as the area of the most number of bamboos in Japan.
- At shrines, people throw coins, bow twice, clap twice and bow one more time sincerely.
- Columnar jointings are the highlights of Kirishima Shinsui Gorge. Around Kirishima Shrine, there is the other trail course called as 7 Mysteries of Kirishima.
- Maruo Nature Sightseeing Trail is the course to watch the nature and deers of Kirishima in the forest. Menoyu is the oldest hot spring in Kirishima providing wonderful atmosphere in the nature.
- The best experience in Kirishima is a mountain climbing. There are famous mountain areas such as Karakunidake(韓国岳), Ebinokogen(えびの高原), Shinmoedake(新燃岳), Takachihonomine(高千穂峰) and so on. Unfortunately, hiking in most mountain areas wasn't allowed due to the recent eruption of Mountain Shinmoedake.

기리시마는 가고시마현의 도시이다. 온천과 명산으로 유명하며, 도시 중심부에서도 땅에서 증기가 피어오르는 것을 쉽게 목격할 수 있다.
- 기리시마에는 여러 온천지역이 있으며 관광 중심부에는 마루오 온천이 위치해 있다.
- 기리시마온천마켓(기리시마온센이치바)는 기념품점, 식당, 관광안내소가 있는 작은 상점가이며 온천수로 끓인 간식거리(고구마, 소시지, 계란, 만주 등)를 파는 좌판들이 있다. 그리고, 시내 대중교통을 담당하는 버스들이 이곳을 통과한다.
- 다양한 경험을 제공하는 다양한 온천들이 있으며 각각의 온천은 주로 몇몇의 숙박업소로 운영되고 있다. 호텔 또는 여관에서 온천을 이용하고 나면 대개 정갈한 식사를 즐길 수 있으며, 숙박하지 않고 당일온천(日帰り温泉 히가에리온센)만을 이용하는 것도 가능하다.
- 지역에 따라 온천수 내에 유노히나(湯の花)라고 불리는 부유물이 발견되기도 한다. 이외에도 여러 온천들이 각기 다른 체험을 제공하기 때문에 두곳 이상을 들르는 방문객도 많다.
- 기리시마의 높은 지대에서는 사쿠라지마(桜島)와 가이몬다케(開聞岳)를 관찰하는 것도 가능하다.
- 19세기 인물인 사카모토 료마(坂本 龍馬)는 일본에서 아주 유명하며 기리시마에 위치한 그의 신혼여행지가 유명하여 전국의 관광객을 불러모은다. 시오히다시 온천 료마공원은 그 중 하나로서 이곳에서는 무료 족욕탕을 운영하고 있다.
- 카레이가와역은 1903년에 문을 연 목조 기차역이다. 에키벤(기차역의 도시락)이 아주 인기있으며, 어떤 사람은 오로지 이 도시락을 먹기 위해 먼 곳에서 찾아오기도 한다. 관광열차인 하야토의 바람(はやとの風 하야토노가제)을 타는 것도 가능하다.
- 버스노선을 따라 여러 온천마을들이 위치해 있다.
- 가고시마현은 일본에서 대다무가 가장 많이 자라는 곳으로도 알려져 있다.
- 신사 또는 신궁에서는 사람들이 참배를 하는데 동전을 던지고, 절을 두번, 박수를 힘있게 두번 그리고 경건하게 한번 더 절을 하는 절차가 일반적이다.
- 기리시마신스이협곡의 가장 큰 볼거리는 주상절리지대이며, 가고시마신궁 주위로 '기리시마의 7대불가사의'라는 산책로가 또 있다.
- 마루오자연탐승로는 자연과 야생사슴들을 관찰할 수 있는 산책로이다. 그리고, 기리시마에서 가장 오래된 온천이라는 메노유를 자연속에서 즐길 수 있다.
- 기리시마 최고의 즐길거리는 등산인데 신모에다케의 최근 화산분출로 인해 경험하지 못하였다. 한국악(韓国岳 카라쿠니다케), 에비노고원(えびの高原 에비노코겐), 신연악(新燃岳 신모에다케), 다카치호노미네(高千穂峰) 등의 지역이 유명하다.

Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka: From Japan With Friendship || Travel Diary
Ohayou Mina-san! its mean Good Morning Everyone in Japanese language. This video is about my traveling diary in Japan with my 2 best friends named Danny Wahono and Yodi Pratama! it was 6D/5N and we took AirBnB as our accommodation in Yoyogi which very near to St. Shinjuku. For you guys who want to visit Japan, here are the itinerary:
Day 1:
- Arrived in Narita Airport (4PM), in this airport you'll easily find sim-card and there was a train straight to the city center Shinjuku.
- In Shinjuku, you have to visit Robot Restaurant which you can see an awesome act performance combined with awesome robotics technologies.
- You also have to visit Saiseisakaba its a very neat place for you to spend the night with Japanese Beer and delicious Yakitori (Skewer)
Day 2:
- Icicles of Ashigakubo!, you'll find this place in winter only. This place is located in Ashigakubo, Saitama. You just need to take train to Ashigakubo St. from Shinjuku.
- City Tour!, Tokyo is massive!, when my friends and i were there, we visit Sensoji Temple located in Asakusa, Tokyo Tower which you can see One Piece Store, Restaurant and Show one of the best and famous anime in the world!, after that move to Shibuya to see Hachiko statue and Shibuya Crossing and if you still have a time dont forget to visit Harajuku and taste the taste full Gyukatsu Motomura Beef Cutlet!
Day 3:
- Visit Akihabara to check comic, anime, manga etc! heaven for WIBU!
- Ikebukuro, yes ikebukuro an quite place and home of @littlethunder the famous animator!
- Need to go for more relaxing place? Meiji Temple is the answer, located in centre of Tokyo and you'll experience forest in the middle of city.
- Go to Kyoto! by whiller overnight bus.
Day 4:
- Fushimi Inari! the red temple! you can walk in the red hall!
- Time to relax more! GO TO KURAMA ONSEN! hot spring with beautiful view!
- Then visit Golden Pavilion or Golden Temple!
- For the dinner, go to Fire Ramen in the Kyoto city and your face will feel hot! literally hot haha.
- Go to Osaka! by train only 30 minutes from Kyoto.
Day 5
- Osaka, Shopping Heaven! hehe. Dotonburi is everything for you who looking for branded brand etc. and in this place you also will find delicious Sushi and Takoyaki!.
- Osaka Castle is also a must!
- Glico Man sign! yeah you haven't visit Osaka if you dont take and pose with Glico Man.
- Back to Tokyo, by Whiller overnight bus.
Day 6:
- Arrived in Tokyo, packing and complete your gifts and souvenir in Shinjuku, Harajuku or Shibuya if you have plenty of time. Or if you dont have much time just visit Shinjuku St because you'll find a lot of souvenirs and foods shop in this station.
- Back to Narita by bus in Shinjuku st.

Sa Pa is a town in the Hoàng Liên Son Mountains of northwestern Vietnam. A popular trekking base, it overlooks the terraced rice fields of the Muong Hoa Valley, and is near the 3,143m-tall Phang Xi Pang peak, which is climbable via a steep, multiday guided walk.
