The Gallarus Oratory (Irish: Séipéilín Ghallarais, literally The Church of the Place of the Foreigners) is believed to be an early Christian church located on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, Ireland.
The oratory overlooks the harbour at Ard na Caithne (formerly also called Smerwick) on the Dingle Peninsula. The oratory is built of large cut stones from the Dingle Beds of the Upper Silurian Old Red Sandstone.
Kilmalkedar - Romanesque Church. This Early Christian and later Medieval site is spread over a large area of around 10 acres. Although the history of this site is associated with St Brendan it is thought to have been founded by St Maolcethair, a local saint. At the centre of this area is the 12th century Hiberno-Romanesque Church pictured right

Kilmalkedar est un monastère qui a été érigé au VIIe siècle. On y retrouve encore aujourd'hui les ruines d'une église romane du XIIe siècle, une pierre comportant des oghams, une croix paleo-chrétienne, un cadran solaire et un petit cimetière dont certaines tombes dateraient semble-t-il du XVe siècle.

A proximité de l'église se trouve un autre bâtiment connu sous le nom de la Maison de Saint Brendan ou la Maison du Prêtre. Le puits de Saint-Brendan est situé à proximité de cet édifice.

Derrière ce site, il y a également un sentier de randonnée de plusieurs kilomètres, plus précisément une voie de pèlerinage qui mène au Mont Brandon.

Surfing in Lahinch - #Surfcity - Late Evening June 2015

After a lovely diner in The Cornerstone Bar in Lahinch we have a wander back to the car and spot some surfers catching some late waves, it looks brighter in the video than it was there and i think they were fairly nuts to out that late, but what do i know !!!! #surfcity
Lahinch is a great spot to visit, when the tide is out the beach goes on for miles of golden sand, not very common in Ireland !!! A clean beach.

Scult (Scoilt) of Culoo

The amazing cliffs at Culoo, Valentia Island, Kerry. The Scult or Scoilt (meaning split in Irish) is a natural formation from centuries of erosion from the Atlantic ocean. It can get pretty rough inside their. Years ago people used to jump across the scult for 'entertainment' !!!!
