Crater Grabrok West Iceland ( Stóru-Grábrók ) near Bifrost village - aerial drone video
Crater Grabrok (Storu-Grábrók) is located just off the No. 1 western Iceland in the middle of the Snaefellsnes peninsula in the vicinity of the village Bifrost. Volcano is the remnant of a large volcanic system Ljósufjöll. Its eruption occurred more than 3,400 years ago.
Grabrok is also the largest of three craters located in the area, is over 170 meters. Other craters of this Grábrókarfelli (Rauðabrók) and Litlu-Grábrók (Smábrók). The latter virtually disappear because of mining before the area was covered by a natural monument in 1962.
Fields of lava Grábrókarhraun after the explosion covered 7 km2 area surrounding volcanoes. Many Icelanders believe this area to be one of the most beautiful in Iceland, there is no way to disagree. From the very top opens to a picturesque view of the fjords Borgafjordur, Lake Hreðavatn black petrified lava-covered green moss, bushes birch - feel the power of nature.
The volcano itself also in its large part is covered with moss. A great advantage is routed to the top of a wooden footbridge. In this way you can get around the extinct volcano. A trip to the interior is less than 10 minutes, another 10 minutes to pass through the path of the volcano, which is by far the best place of observation. Even if you do not have much time we stop at Grabrok to see up close its perfect shape.

List of cities and towns in Iceland
This is a list of cities and towns in Iceland. Some of Iceland’s larger cities and towns are also self-contained municipalities whose geography and populations are therefore equal. However, most of Iceland’s municipalities, which are semi-autonomous administrative zones, contain several disparate towns or cities, each of whose population contributes to that of its respective municipality.
In addition to Iceland's many independent towns, this article includes cities and towns whose municipalities consist of one, self-contained city of the same name, such as Hafnarfjörður and Akranes. Municipalities that are not also cities or towns, such as Árborg, are not included here, but their constituent towns and cities are. For Árborg, these include the towns of Selfoss, Eyrarbakki, and Stokkseyri.
For more information on the administrative divisions of Iceland, refer to the “Divisions” section of the Iceland infobox on this page.
