SWITZERLAND: Rhine Falls - waterfall near Schaffhausen [HD]

The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall in German) is the largest waterfall in Europe.

The falls are located on the Upper Rhine near the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, near the border with Germany.

They are 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high.

The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.

The Rhine Falls were formed in the last ice age, approximately 14,000 to 17,000 years ago, by erosion- resistant rocks narrowing the riverbed.

Come along on a bike trip in Jurapark, in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. What was supposed to be a pleasant bike trip among cherry trees turned into a surprising sightseeing tour of antique military tanks, a nuclear and hydroelectric power plant.

Balkenprobe

The famous Balkenprobe (Beam Challenge) in the over 200-year old wine bar Öpfelchammer (Apple Chamber) in Zürich, Switzerland. One must lift him/herself into a 30 cm opening above a wooden beam, climb through and over the next beam, then hang head down and drink a full glass of white wine (free). Ice Skating in Switzerland! // Lost in Europe

Whenever I daydream about a wintery paradise, Switzerland will always be first to come to my mind! We thought about skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding ( or sledging as they call it), and decided on ice skating! We lucked out with the most picturesque backdrop of mountains on mountains on mountains with hang gliders floating down from the skies and a moon peaking out behind a snowy peak. All the kids loved ice skating and so did the adult kids too.
