Ezkio-Itsaso was a municipality in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, in northern Spain. In 2017 the Regional Council of Gipuzkoa splitted Ezkio-Itsaso into two independent municipalities. In 1965 by the fusion of the municipalities of Ezkio and Itsaso. Ezkio was renowned in the 1930s for the apparitions of the Virgin Mary even though the Catholic Church has not authenticated them. There is an advanced project to build an AVE high-speed train station in Ezkio-Itsaso that would become an important travel hub connecting the Basque Y to Navarre.
