Tucked away at the end of the western beach is another two bedroom guest cottage. With it's spacious living area and kitchen, guests can enjoy their stay on the island in comfort and privacy.
Anyone for tennis? The island court features a durable and comfortable Plexi-pave surface and is complemented by the Cabana overlooking the western beach. The Cabana features a full assortment of modern exercise and stereo equipment with gourmet kitchen and bar area. All of the residences are connected by shady sand paths that also lead to the protected cut- out limestone harbor. Able to accommodate two boats up to 45 feet, with room for other smaller boats, the harbour offers 6 feet of draft, electricity and water receptacles, and a large dock house for gear storage.
Additional amenities include dedicated underground electric and phone service, two large docks on either side of the island, automated standby generator, reverse osmosis water system, large capacity ice-maker, island manager's office, extra capacity laundry facility, high speed internet communications, and an assortment of beach and water toys.
Just a 40 minute flight from Palm Beach, the Abacos are fast becoming the destination of choice for those seeking a tropical getaway with world class amenities. We're trying to make our way south to see all of the Abacos before family arrives for the holidays. But just south of Green Turtle there's an extremely dangerous cut called The Whale. While we wait for local knowledge on this passage we decide to go to shore and say hello to the Abaco Swimming Pigs of Piggyville.

Dodging Massive Storm at Cape of Good Hope! Sailing SV Delos Ep. 105
Sailing from Cape Town to La Reunion is an off-the-beaten-track 3,000 NM route in some of the roughest waters on the planet. Delos is ready and our new crew has arrived! Time to head to the islands for the winter so we say goodbye to Cape Town and point the bow out into the grey, misty morning. First stop- La Reunion. This was definitely going to be one of our most intense passages ever! We start out with having to sail back around the most Southern tip of Africa, a gnarly stretch of water! But I love how you get to know our three new crew members and how they feel as we get forced into a small harbor to dodge a massive storm coming our way! an intense start to our passage for sure! Hope you enjoy this sailing adventure!

Cape of Good Hope (South Africa)
At the tip of the Cape Peninsula 60 km south-west of Cape Town, lies Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park; a declared Natural World Heritage Site. South Africa's Cape coast attracts thousands of local and international tourists each year to witness the Indian and Atlantic oceans splashing together - or so they believe..
Cape Point, an hour's drive from Cape Town, cashes in on the visitors who flock to witness this supposed natural phenomenon. An estimated 800 000 people a year visit its spectacular cliffs, lighthouses and Two Oceans curio shops.
However, the residents of Cape Agulhas - over 100km east of Cape Point - insist that visitors wanting to see the confluence of the two oceans will have to travel a little further south ...Encompassing 7 750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna; abounding with buck, baboons and Cape Mountain Zebra as well as over 250 species of birds, Cape Point is a nature enthusiast paradise and rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200 meters above the sea and cutting deep into the ocean provide a spectacular background for the Parks' rich bio-diversity. Cape Point falls within the southern section of Table Mountain National Park. The natural vegetation of the area, fynbos, comprises the smallest but richest of the world's six floral kingdoms.
The scenic beauty of Cape Point is not its sole allure; it is also an international icon of great historical interest with many a visitor drawn to the area because of its rich maritime history. Named the 'Cape of Storms' by Bartolomeu Dias in 1488; the 'Point' was treated with respect by sailors for centuries. By day, it was a navigational landmark and by night, and in fog, it was a menace beset by violent storms and dangerous rocks that over the centuries littered shipwrecks around the coastline.
In 1859 the first lighthouse was completed; it still stands at 249 meters above sea-level on the highest section of the peak and is now used as the centralized monitoring point for all the lighthouses on the coast of South Africa.
Access to this historical building is by an exhilarating ride in the wheelchair accessible Flying Dutchman funicular that transfers visitors from the lower station at 127 meters above sea level, to the upper station at 286 meters above sea level.

Me and my mate Doug needed a break from the mind numbing boredom of life in our home town. So we headed off to the Northern Cape for some adrenaline squeezers, the beeg outdoors and some kick azz views. From an abseiling adventure to biking through the wilderness, we had some awesome time out. Us cowboys even got to meet up with some cowgirls sometimes with all that outdoor action a guy needs a little ummm cultured conversation. But take a Shot Left and see what happens! Its easy!
