Betla National Park in latehar District in Jharkhand... tourist place in jharkhand.
A TRIP TO SARJU, LATEHAR ( JHARKHAND ) # My first travel..
Sarju, a picturesque place surrounded by densely forested hills close to the bottom of the Chhotanagpur Plateau in Latehar district, is fast emerging as one of major tourists’ destinations in Jharkhand.
Situated 20 km South-West of Latehar district headquarters, Sarju is well connected by an all-season motorable road. Driving on this road is a fun.
The entire stretch to this rather non-descript village, once the roving headquarters of the dreaded CPI (Maoists), presents a scintillating view of the valley, forests, surrounding hills and local people.
The circuitous valley leading to Sarju, locally known as Sarju Ghati, is one of the major attractions. The Oranga river-side and Chopat river-side are good for picnics.

Coalfields and Forests of Eastern India: Exploring Jharkhand, Ranchi-Daltonganj
A compilation from the coalfields and forests of central Jharkhand, between Ranchi and Daltonganj. The Ranchi-Muri section comprises of thick forests with the two tracks following separate alignments along the ledges of two hills. After Muri, we veer westwards towards Ramgarh and Barka Kana. From Barkakana to Khalari, it is an intense coal mining area with coal dust flying all over the place, supplying coal to thermal power plants in Patratu and Chopan. Between Tori and Daltonganj, one encounters the thickly wooded forests of the Latehar and Palamu districts, included the Betla National Park, home to tigers and elephants. An additional attraction between Barka Kana and Daltonganj is the Koel river, which runs parallel to the tracks. The terrain is of a lovely undulating nature - Ranchi is at 600 metres, and the tracks descend to Muri at 250 metres and subsequently rise again to Tori at 500 metres, before dropping down to Daltonganj at 200 metres. The gradients are sharp enough for goods to require bankers between Patratu and Tori.
This compilation presents journeys across two trains, the Hatia New Delhi Swarna Jayanti Express, hauled by twin Bokaro Steel City WDM3As, and the Jabalpur Howrah Shaktipunj Express, hauled by a Patratu WDM3A. The travels were undertaken in the month of February, when the forests were in full bloom of the bright orange palash flowers, with the orange Patratu Alco merging with the palash while winding through the Betla forest.
