SUMMARY:
- If you lack challenge in your life, head for the border between Macau and China. The funny thing is that people in Macau, like in Hong Kong, drive on the left side of the road, while the Chinese drive on the right.
- The border between Poland and Ukraine is not just a line between two countries; it's an art object! If you look at the piece of land situated between Polish Horodyszcze and Ukrainian Warez from above, you'll see two colossal fish.
- I wonder what you would say about a border that separates not two but three countries at a time? This place I'm talking about is known as The Triple Frontier, and that's where the Iguazu River and the Parana River separate Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.
- Big Diomede is a Russian island, and Little Diomede belongs to the USA. Despite a relatively small distance between the two islands, Big Diomede is 21 hours ahead of its fellow isle!
- This border may be by far the most unusual and complex one of them all. It runs through the town of Baarle-Hertog. The thing is that it's virtually one town some parts of which belong to Belgium and others to the Netherlands.
- The world's smallest country, Vatican City, is a state of its own. It's encircled by a border with Italy which is just 2 miles long, and the size of the entire country is just over 100 acres.
- Brazil - Argentina. The border between the two countries might as well be the most beautiful in the world. You would agree if you've ever seen the world's largest waterfall system, Iguazu Falls, situated on the Iguazu River.
- Hungary - Slovakia - Austria. A point where the borders of three countries meet is called a tripoint, and there are about 170 such points in the world.
- A zip line connects Spain and Portugal, and it's probably the best way for an adrenaline junkie to cross the border between the two countries.
- The border between Malaysia and Indonesia consists of a land boundary that separates the two countries on Borneo island, and maritime borders that run along the Straits of Malacca, in the Celebes Sea and the South China Sea.

- What is your favorite thing about travelling?
Living life day to day, living in the moment. We also love exploring new places and get lost in the locations we visit
- What is your favorite place/country you have ever visited and why?
It is hard to pick only one, but if we have to, we would go for Croatia. Amazing people, food and landscapes, it is amazing!
- What is the most overrated city you have been to?
Paris, It was not what we expected it to be. We like it but we had a lot of expectations. We need to go back!
- What is your worst travel experience?
Flights are always tricky.
- What was your first trip abroad?
We went to Cuba in 2005. Does that count? :)
- How and when did you catch the travel bug?
We both enjoyed travel, even before we met, but it became our passion once we got together :)
- Why did you start blogging? what equipment do you use?
We started because we wanted to have some memories on film, it is amazing! And our go-to camera is the Canon G7X
- How do you stay organized with travelling, content creation, other responsibilities, obligations etc?
We try to follow a schedule as much as possible, that makes it easier to organize our routine. We try to stay active on social media and be consistent.
- Do you guys have a drone?
We do, we have the DJI Spark. It is small and convenient, especially because we only do carry-on during our trips. It is just a great drone. Recommended!
- How do you decide where to go, and when/what order?
We have a list of priority places. We are going to some very exciting places pretty soon, so stay tuned!
- What is your day job and how does it allow you both to crush all those cool travel spots?
We live in Halifax, but we are lucky to be part of the “Digital Nomads” group. We work online doing web design for our company, basically, this allows us to travel a lot. We do work a lot, we just don’t film it.
- What are your best tips for starting a YouTube and Instagram following?
Be consistent, and have a theme! Find your niche, and keep producing content. Besides that, interact, and keep being active, this allows you to be more visible.

Eastern Europe 11 Days 7 Countries: Poland - 2018
Hello everyone!
I tried to get what video I could on this trip, but I also wanted to be present and enjoy the journey and experiences in real time.
I booked an Eastern European Highlights trip through Expat Explore where you visit 7 countries in 11 days. It was a total adventure and lots of fun!! Early mornings, tons of walking, lots of driving, met so many great people, new friends and an abundance of new places to explore and learn about. I loved every single place we visited.
One of the highlights of the trip was our tour guide, KIM. She was freakin' AMAZING. Warm, funny, caring, beautiful person who took care of absolutely everyone and was so passionate about everything on the entire trip. Her communication skills were off the hook, too!! It's Hard to find people who understand without actually having to say much, but she gets it. Very intuitive human being. Any tour group or tour company would be lucky to have her as your guide.

A former military hospital protected by security. It wasn’t easy to get in here unnoticed. Although this huge building complex has been vacant for some years now there is still a vast number of medical equipment inside. To our astonishment even the electricity was working in some parts of the medical center. In other parts of the house vandalism already gained the upper hand. That’s probably the reason why security is patrolling on the premises now – a security which we even got to know at the end of our exploration.

Few trips are on more travellers bucket lists than a European road trip, and with good reason! Getting lost in the tiny towns and through the stunning nature of these amazing countries is the experience of a lifetime!
Great European Road Trip: The Plan!
Half the fun of going on a European road trip is planning one and we spent months and months staring at huge maps of Europe trying to plot our perfect route through the most beautiful countries, cities and nature we could find. The only problem, as you’ll soon find out, is that there is simply way too much to see and never enough time to see it all, so you’ve got to plan smart.
We’re huge road trip fans, so when it came to planning our Great European Road Trip we had a handful of countries that we knew no European road trip was complete without, including Germany, Austria and Italy - but we also wanted to add some new ones we’d never been to.
We’ve always loved Prague but always found ourselves walking around the same parts of the old city every time we visited and never getting out to explore the rest of the country. No road trip is complete without a car, and so Prague became our starting point and the spot where we launched off after picking up our trusty car, which Anne named Roger, and heading all through the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia - a journey through six countries, over twenty-three days and over 3,100km.
Great European Road Trip: The Rental Car!
Anne and I have been lucky to travel to over 40 countries together in the last five years, but until last June when we did our “Great American Road Trip” we hadn’t ever done a proper road trip together, and sadly just stayed close in to the city center areas or spent a day on a tour without getting out into the countryside to explore more.
Picking the right rental car is key, because if you travel like we do you’ll pretty much live in it. We’ve been Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members for years now and the perks of the membership simply make it a no brainer. Not only do we get the pick any car we want, but you can get access to the Hertz Connect device with wifi, phone calls and city guides as well as adding a second driver for free and earning Emirates Skywards Miles.
As with any traveling, it is the small things, perks, extras and benefits which add up to make all the difference, and this is one of them.
Anne picked a beautiful rust colored SUV, named him Roger and off we went to start our 23-day adventure!
Great European Road Trip: Czech Republic
Heading out of Prague was simple enough with our navigation and we knew what our first stop would end up being: to get a cooler! A quick stop at the local Czech shopping mall and Lidl, and we were packed with groceries, a full cooler and were heading north to czech out (see what I did there) the Sedlec Ossuari, a literal church made of bones.
According to history, so many people wanted to be buried on this site that starting in the 15th Century they ran out of space in the cemetery and simply started to use the human skeletal bones to build the church - which now contains the remains of between 40,000-70,000 individuals. Nice start to a romantic European road trip, huh?
If you have followed us for awhile you’ll know we rarely plan anything out at all, even where we’re staying at night. Anne managed to find the most random place we’ve ever slept tucked deep in the Czech countryside where a woman had renovated a horse trailer on her farm and listed it on AirBnb for $18/night - sold!
After a peaceful and quiet night we awoke to horses, goats, sheep, cats and one judgemental llama. Quick stop in the eco toilet and a breakfast from our cooler we were off to visit the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, a beautiful forest which is ironically on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic, nowhere near Switzerland.
Operation “Less Fat Jeff” was in full effect as we set off on the first hike of our Great European Road Trip through a stunning forest - the actual filming location for Narnia - and made our way up to the top to the largest sandstone arch in Europe, which isn’t as impressive as the hike itself, but well worth doing the hike.

CULTURE SHOCKS IN EUROPE!: Backpacking Europe!
Hi, everyone!
I’ve discussed the Culture Shocks I experienced when moving from the US to Scotland, but I’d like to now tell you about some Culture Shocks Joe and I experienced while backpacking Europe.
1. I like speedos.
This was a shock indeed! I think some men look incredibly sexy in a speedo. In the US, guys in speedos are laughed at, but when we were in Greece Joe and I were both shocked to see how some of those guys were pulling. It. Off.
2. How safe we felt in Central Europe (central vs eastern).
Central and Eastern Europe don’t have as good of reputations as Western Europe does. In fact, after the movies Hostel and EuroTrip came out, Bratislava, Slovakia experienced a sudden drop in tourism by 75%. Joe was even surprised that these countries were prominent on my list of places to visit instead of France, Spain, and Portugal. When you first see the remaining communism buildings and graffiti, it came be intimidating, but look a little further and you’ll notice, you’re perfectly safe. We were less concerned about pickpockets, for example, in these countries than in London or Italy. I highly recommend visiting them and learning about their amazing histories.
3. Even if you don’t smoke pot in Amsterdam, you’ll smell like weed for days.
….for….days. …It was so strong smelling… Everyone thought we were pot heads….
4. Joe became an extrovert.
This was a very big shock. Joe can be quiet until you get to see and know his goofball self, like I’m privileged enough to. Enter backpacking Europe. Suddenly after a long day, I wanted to read in bed in the hostel and he was the one saying, “Let’s go to the common room and find people to talk to!” I have no idea what happened, but it was fun to witness.
5. American music was everywhere.
America spends so much money on it’s entertainment that it creates some high quality stuff. So maybe it shouldn’t have surprised us how far reaching those things would go. We were surprised, however, to hear American music in every country we visited! On buses, at restaurants, and in shops. It seemed to be everywhere, even if those countries and their people didn’t speak English.
6. Taxes in most EU countries are included in the price written on the tag.
This was an awesome surprise! In the US, since taxes differ from state to state, you won’t know the exact final price of your purchase from looking at the tag alone. The tag will say a price, and the tax will be added it to at the cash register. In many European countries, however, the price on the tag is exactly what you pay. How convenient!
7. Smoking indoors in some Central European countries.
In some countries in Central Europe, it is still perfectly legal and very common to smoke indoors, including in restaurants. We witnessed this in the US in some states that still had smoking versus non-smoking sections, and even that was a shock, but there weren’t even any sections in the Czech Republic, for example. We were lucky to have had great weather while we were there, because many of our meals were eaten outside so that at least the wind would help keep the smoke at bay.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet”, because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Switzerland was the 22nd country I visited. I entered Switzerland in October, but got very lucky with the weather and had the most perfect autumn ride. I only stayed there for two nights. On the first night I was hosted by Andi Koru near Zurich. Andi is a world traveler who I've been in touch with for a while and now we finally got to meet. These days Andi is working for Lone Rider and I had the opportunity to see the prototype of their new Adv Tent on the night.
On the second night I was invited to join RTW rider Lea Rieck and her friends for the night in a boutique hotel in Sporz and that was just unforgettable luxury.
And in between were plenty of incredible Alps mountain passes.

Costa Rica TRAVEL VIDEO | 3 Weeks of Paradise
We were lucky enough to spend 3 amazing weeks in Costa Rica & Panama in 2017. Filming, photography and editing are 3 new hobbies gained from the trip, which have been translated into my first travel video - enjoy! Itinerary and gear details below:

- All clips taken on either D3300/ S6/Akaso FakePro action camera. All footage is my own and was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro
- If I can give 1 piece of advice to anyone thinking of making a travel video it would be to film on your smartphone/action camera using a Gimbal (DSLR Gimbals are a lot more expensive). Warp Stabilizer on Premier Pro is great but I’d much rather have professional looking smooth footage for only ~£100 investment. This Gimbal is what I will be using on my next trip:

Itinerary (Created with minimising travel while hitting as many wishlist activities in mind)
- San Jose
Make the most of your trip, the best things to see in CR are outside the capital so if you can, leave for your first destination as soon as you land
- Monteverde - 3 nights (should have been 4, flight delayed 24h!)
Could have stayed here forever, 3 amazing national parks full of life and an incredibly chilled atmosphere in the town
- La Fortuna - 4 nights (should have been 3, definitely worth visiting but it did drag a little)
This is tourism central, you lose the chilled and tropical vibe but there are sooo many different activities
Chocolate tour and a night experience of a hot spring are recommended
- Tortugero - 2 nights (perfect amount of time)
A long journey from La Fortuna but 100% worth it for us since we really wanted to experience the sea turtle nesting
- Caribbean Coast - 6 nights
Pristine and undisturbed beaches all across the coast, paradise
- Panama - 3 nights
Bocas Del Toro/Bastimentos, paradise took on another level here… although on Bastimentos the restaurants tend to open when they feel like (never), so we were eating chicken noodles for 2 nights, all part of the experience I guess!
- Back to Caribbean and onwards to San Jose - 2 nights
Rio Pacuare class 4/5 white water rafting en route, amazing. If you do “GoPro” the experience make sure you check the angle of your camera when possible and do what you can to prevent lens steaming – these are the reasons I have such limited footage from that experience, there were some amazing Indian Jones-esque views I couldn’t share sadly
Corcovado is the only place I regret not visiting but it was a really tough place to fit in, whale watching in the Pacific would have been amazing too… maybe one day
