Aguada Beach
Aguada Beach in North Goa is a popular tourist attraction. Catching the eyes of the beach lovers, the beach’s highlight is the fort that stands on a cliff that faces the Aguada beach. Pristine and calm, Aguada beach is perfect to enjoy evening strolls and witness the sun setting down.
Baga Beach
Baga beach is another popular place to visit in North Goa. The beach is located at the end of the stretch Calangute beach. Baga is a bustling beach as it gives visitors lot to enjoy and experience. An unbroken line of shacks overlook rows of sun beds that further overlook a jagged line of motorboats often attached to the paragliders.
Calangute Beach
Calangute is the contiguous beach of Baga, for the record not even the locals know the separation point of the two beaches. Where Baga is reckoned to be slightly more picturesque, Calangute is an adventurist getaway.

Mangueshi Temple

Mapusa Friday Market at Mapusa, Bardez, North Goa, India is located about 13 km from Panaji. This is a dawn to dusk market is open everyday but on Friday it gets really big. That is why it is called Mapusa Friday Market. This is considered as the best shopping place at Goa. Local farmers and villagers as well as small entrepreneurs from all over Goa come to Mapusa Friday Market tos ell their products directly to the consumsers. Variety of items like fresh fruits, Seedless tamarind (local name is amot), Goan home-made chouriço, spiced and marinated pork sausages, jewellery, pottery, spice, carpet are available in this market.

Goa, is one of the most sorted and popular holiday destination in India. Known for its cheerful and lively beaches, crowd, hills, casinos, shacks, night clubs, food and spirits, and a hippie culture. People come here from various parts of India to spend their time for friends reunion or a family function, because, options here are plenty and easy on the pocket too.
In brief,Goa is divided into North and South Goa, the North Goa is the lively city, while south Goa is more of relaxed and less crowded. North Goa which is also known as Bardez is most popular and has several towns which has its own unique way of celebrating life.
Goa’s Capital is Panjim or Panaji, and the nearby towns are Candolim,Calangute, Arpora, Baga, Vagator,Anjuna,Mapusa. All these areas are located almost about 10-20 kms far from each other. Today we are at Mapusa which is 14 kms away from Panjim and one of the second largest town in Goa, In this episode of Hunger Knocks, let me show you some of the local flaovors of Mapusa, which is better known as the Mapusa Municipal Market.
The mapusa Municipal Market is a full fleged local market in Goa and it opens everyday from early morning at 7 and shuts down at 9pm everyday. On Sundays, most of the shops are closed, still half the market is open, and the best time to come here is on a Friday. You can find local street vendors sitting with a huge bunch of clothes, selling them at a dirt cheap rate of 100-150 rupees, There are fancy watches and aviators at a price of 100- 300 rupees. There are bread sellers, who makes, fresh breads and sells them on their cycles inside the Mapusa Market. All these are quite interesting to watch, specially if you not from Goa. If you move deeper inside the market, you will find a lot of bag stores, garments, and and dried fishes. The dried fish are usually either deep fried and eaten, or used as flavoring ingredients for Chutneys, and other goan curries. To get a local flavor of Goa, it is must that you should come here and experience the Mapusa Market, You get everthing here, from garments, hosiery, utensils, grossery, local spices, and also it has a separate vegetable market and a fish market which is delight to watch.
Not only vegetables, or groceries, the Mapusa Market also has Live stock of Fish, Beef and Pork, and has a designted area. Sea food is what people love to eat in Goa, and this market has enough of offerings. There are crabs , which comes aross in various sizes, and the fish vendors, makes prepares themfor your to cook. There are also fresh catch from the sea everyday which includes various types of fishes and mussels. Mussels are favorite as the chewy, crunchy, rubbery texure, breaks in your mouth when cooked with tangy Konkani spices , that something really heavenly, and if you are planning to cook on your own, its highly recommend you get them for a crispy, crunchy platter of sea food, which can be best served with beer or Wines.
Besides a few small restaurants inside the market, there are a couple of Street food outlets, serving goan, Chinese, and Indian food, just next to the bus stop, and you can find here lot of travelers, trying to grab a parcel for their onward journey. These outlets are almost open till late night and also has a few seating arrangments on the streets. The smell of the roasted chickens, the burning charcoal, the smell of the Chinese ingredients, and also the smell of liquor from the nearby store, blends into something, you cant leave this place, without having food. We will talk about special Goan food in our upcoming episodes from Goa, but today, its time to check out some , local tandoori chicken. Out the two restaurants, the one, looks less crowded, which is Chef Uncles Restaurant. This restaurant in Goa serves Basic Indian, Chinese, Grills and Tandoor, which was quite delicious.
The total cost of food was INR 180 , which is pretty descent. The joy of having food, infact good food, makes your life more colorful in Goa.
