Kurashiki city, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. город Курасики, Япония
Kurashiki is located west of Okayama Prefecture's southern plains. During the Edo Period some 350 years ago, the area along the Kurashiki-gawa River was under direct control of the shogunate government and trade by boat helped the town to prosper. The beautiful streetscape of storehouses and merchant homes south of JR Kurashiki Station was selected as an Important Traditional Structures Conservation Area by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and it is still protected as such today as the Bikan Chiku historical area. The Ohara Museum of Art is also located here and, with its worldwide famous collections including pieces by El Greco, Gauguin and Monet, is the first museum of western art in Japan, attracting a constant stream of visitors from both home and abroad. In the Bikan Chiku historical area, two small boats are always combing the river where, during the daytime, visitors can enjoy a view of the riverbanks while experiencing a gondola-style boat ride, called the Kurashiki Kawabune Nagashi. When it gets dark, the streets are gently enveloped by soft illumination, making the area enjoyable at night time as well.

TOURING THRU KUMAMOTO // TRAVEL DIARY
Officially my 10th video documenting my trip to JAPAN! All shot on a GoPro Hero5.
We arrived in Kumamoto the day prior. Today is the day that was actually anticipated. Both my brother and father wanted to see the Reigando Cave and that is what we did first thing in the morning. For those that don't know, it was temporarily home to a ronin, Miyamoto Musashi. In the cave he wrote Book of Five Rings, which introduced Musashi to my family.
After the cave, we met a cat. No surprise but we had to stop and give it a little love an attention. We then head to a samurai workshop. There a Swedish man, Hans Koga, works on and repairs swords. He showed us his collection. My brother saw a cockroach and then Koga proceeded to tell us that it was fine because a huge Huntsman preys on them. We did not stay too long, suffice to say.
Last stop of the day was at Matsunaga Genrokuro's workshop. He showed us how he makes his swords. Sparks flew and burnt holes in our tour guide's jacket. After the demonstration we watched his students cut bamboo mats, and after both my brother and father got to try. And so ended our day in Kumamoto.

In questo video vi farò vedere le famose ceramiche di Bizen e come nasce una Katana (La spada dei Samurai), la parte finale del video è per chi piace passare qualche giorno al mare senza andare fino a Okinawa.
