Orléans is a city on the banks of the Loire River in north-central France, and it’s the capital of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Joan of Arc famously saved the city from English siege in 1429, an event celebrated with an annual festival. A re-creation of the house where she stayed during the battle, the Maison de Janne d’Arc, features multimedia exhibits on her life.
Orleans is a city in north-central France, about 111 kilometres (69 mi) southwest of Paris. Orleans is the capital of the Loiret department and of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Orléans is located on the Loire River where the river curves south towards the Massif Central. New Orleans (French: La Nouvelle-Orléans), in Louisiana, United States, is named after the city.

Orléans is an autoroute intersection : the A10 (linking Paris to Bordeaux) links to the commune outskirts, and A71 (whose bridge over the Loire is outside the commune limits) begins here, heading for the Mediterranean via Clermont-Ferrand (where it becomes the A75). Orléans is served by two main railway stations: the central Gare d'Orléans and the Gare des Aubrais-Orléans, in the northern suburbs. Most long-distance trains call only at the Les Aubrais-Orléans station, which offers connections to Paris, Lille, Tours, Brive-la-Gaillarde, Nevers, and several regional destinations.

An unmissable destination for sweet-lovers thanks to its famous nougat, Montélimar is located between Valence and Avignon, in the middle of Provençale Drôme, the land of lavender. Peaceful and welcoming with its old pedestrian quarters and little town squares, Montélimar was conquered by the Romans before the birth of Christ. It has many treasures left over from its eventful past that are very appealing to tourists.
Its beautiful mansions are found in the historic centre: the Renaissance-style house of Diane de Poitiers, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries; the 17th-century Puy-Montbrun mansion; the 18th-century Chabrillan mansion. The Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross, located on the site of the first church thus named in the 12th century, has been transformed and renovated many times following the destruction caused by the Wars of Religion. Another sight to see is St. Martin's Gate, built from dimension stone in the 17th century and formerly part of the city's ramparts.
In the heights of the city, the Adhémars' Castle is a 12th-century medieval palace, Romanesque in style and surrounded by ramparts. Temporary exhibitions and shows take place there. You can visit the residential palace, keep and chapel. You can buy a pass for combined admission to the castle and the St. Martin Contemporary Art Museum. To entertain the young ones, head to the Museum of Miniatures, based in an old chapel in the city centre. Dedicated to the art of miniature-making, it has amongst other things a magnificent collection of dolls' houses.
Lastly, you can't visit Montélimar without stopping at one of its many nougat shops, to sample this unique treat made from almonds and honey. To step back in time to your childhood days, you can also stop by the Palace of Sweets and Nougat, a fun, educational and interactive space devoted to childhood and memories.
Montelimar is primarily famous for its nougat and if you are visiting Montelimar be sure to taste some. It is nothing like the chewy, plasticy stuff that passes for nougat in the UK but is really delicious. Wandering along the main street, the Rue Pierre Julien there are plenty of shops dedicated to the sale of nougat. Nougat first began to be made in the 17th century when the almond trees planted around Montelimar first started fruiting. Almonds and honey are key components of the delicious Montelimar nougat.
The basic nougat is made of sugar, honey and egg whites and to this almonds, pistachios and vanilla are added. Most of the nougat makers in the town will let you watch the nougat making process, usually in the morning when the day's batch is made. Apart from nougat Montelimar is not really a tourist destination but it does have a pleasant centre with a few sights to look out for.
Also to look out for are the municipal theatre built in neo-classical style in the 19th century, a Protestant Church built in the 17th century and a very attractive pharmacy. The pharmacy has a frontage made of tin and lead and has quite an ornate neo-classical style. If you are travelling with children the Jardin Public in the centre of Montelimar is a nice park, great for a picnic, and near the entrance is a mini-farm with peacocks, sheep and pygmy goats. One of the main sights to see in Montelimar is the Chateau des Adhemar which sits on a hilltop above the town. Adhemar castle was built at the end of the 12th century by the Adhémar family. It has battlements, a main residence, a keep and a chapel. It is used to house contemporary art exhibitions.

Né à Nantes, Patrick Moreau embarque à dix-sept ans sur un voilier pour étudier la navigation traditionnelle sur la côte portugaise. Puis l'année suivante, il réalise un reportage la pêche de l'éponge dans le golfe de Gabès. Il devient lauréat de la Fondation Zellidja.
Des études à l'Institut des Langues Orientales lui donnent les clés pour aborder le continent asiatique. Il le parcourt depuis 1973 : l'Inde, la Chine, le Kurdistan avec Emmanuel Braquet, le Liban pour Antenne 2, l'Afghanistan en guerre. Suit un long métrage sur le fleuve Indus, présenté à Connaissance du Monde. Vient ensuite l'Indochine, au fil du Mékong. Puis le Viet Nam, le Québec et le Saint-Laurent.
Aujourd'hui, il nous présente un nouveau film sur le Viet Nam.

The SNCF BB 26000 locomotives are a class of dual voltage, four axle B'B' electric locomotives capable of a top speed of 200 km/h built by GEC Alsthom between 1988 and 1998 for SNCF. The locomotives are also commonly known as the Sybics.
The class were built to fulfil both freight and passenger roles; the specifications included the ability to haul 16 Corail coaches at 200 km/h (124 mph) on a 0.25% gradient, and to haul a 2,050 t (2,018 long tons; 2,260 short tons) freight train at 80 km/h (50 mph) on a 0.88% gradient.
The locomotives are a two cabin design with the body built out of steel, two pantographs are fitted; one for 1500 V operation, the other for 25 kV operation.[2] A 25 kV AC supply is stepped down and rectified to 1500 V, a 1500 V supply feeds the power electronics directly. Each of the three elements of the thyristor bridge based three phase inverter circuits are connected in parallel, with the two three phase supplies per motor being series connected. For speeds below 15 km/h (9.3 mph) one supply voltage reducing chopper circuit (French:hacheur) per motor bogie is used to assist control. The traction motors are three phase synchronous type (as used in the contemporary TGV Atlantique) but with two three phase stator windings offset by 30 degrees. Drive from the traction motors to wheel is via a floating ring vibration isolation element (French: anneau dansant) and hollow shaft drive.
Mono-motor bogies were chosen based on the good performance in the SNCF BB 22200, SNCF BB 15000 and SNCF BB 7200 classes. A synchronous motor was chosen over a commutated motor or an asynchronous motor due to the reduced mass, simplicity of equipment, and price.
264 of the class were ordered by SNCF, only 234 were built, the last 30 of the order were instead built as a new triple voltage design capable of also operating on 3kV DC;[8] these used asynchronous electric motors and became the SNCF Class BB 36000 (Asytrit).
In June 2000 26084 was involved in an accident caused by sabotage near Chasse-sur-Rhône, and is no longer in service. As of 2009 the remaining 233 machines are still in operation in France.

The gare des Aubrais-Orléans is a main-line railway station located in the town of Fleury-les-Aubrais in Loiret, central France, and serving the greater Orléans district. It is situated on the Paris to Bordeaux railway and is also the northern terminus of the Orléans to Montauban line. TGV and most other long-distance trains serve only the Gare des Aubrais-Orléans, and not the more central Gare d'Orléans.
