In 1962, the citizens of Perth turned all of the city’s lights on to acknowledge John Glen’s pass overhead in the Mercury spacecraft. his brought a nickname to Perth - the City of Lights.
01. Kings Park
A 4.06-square-kilometre (1,003-acre) park located on the western edge of the central business district. A mixture of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount Eliza with two thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland.
02. Swan Valley
A region in the upper reaches of the Swan River between Guildford and Bells Rapids. During October the annual 'Spring in the Valley' weekend takes place; it is one of Australia's largest wine and food festivals.
03. Perth Zoo
A 41-acre (17 ha) zoo that opened in 1898. As of January 2011, it is home to 1258 animals of 164 species and includes an extensive botanical collection. Had 53,000 visitors in its first nine months. Has not been closed for a single day since it was opened.
04. Aquarium of Western Australia
A privately owned aquarium in Hillarys. Was Australia's largest aquarium when it opened and still possesses Australia's largest single aquarium and walk-through underwater tunnel. Opened on 13 April 1988 as Underwater World.
05. Hillarys Boat Harbour
A marina and tourist precinct located in Hillarys, north of Perth. The facility has been extensively upgraded during 2008 to incorporate a new boardwalk, tavern and retail outlets. A feature of this upgrade is a drawbridge arrangement to allow boats to be moored inside the network of boardwalks.
06. Adventure World
A theme park. Opened on 11 November 1982 as Edgley’s Adventure World and undergoes a winter closure each year. Located in Bibra Lake, 20 km from the CBD. 380,000 tonnes of sand were used to reshape the land contours of the industrial dump site into a suitable theme park location.
07. Fremantle Prison
A former Australian prison in Fremantle. The six-hectare (15-acre) site includes the prison cellblocks, gatehouse, perimeter walls, cottages, and tunnels. Closed in 1991, replaced by the new maximum-security Casuarina Prison.
08. Barracks Arch
Originally built in 1866 to house the Enrolled Pensioner Force. Designed by Richard Roach Jewell. The Enrolled Pensioner Force came to Australia as guards on convict ships, and were given small land grants in return for part-time guard work.
09. Cohunu Koala Park
A wildlife sanctuary on 14 ha (35 acres) of bushland at Byford. It features not only koalas, but also dingoes, kangaroos, emus, wallabies, eagles, wombats, echidnas, black swans, cockatoos, and lifelike replicas of dinosaurs.
10. Round House
Was the first permanent building built in the Swan River Colony. Built in late 1830 and opened in 1831, it is the oldest building still standing in Western Australia. Located at Arthur Head in Fremantle.

TOP THINGS TO DO IN MORNINGTON MELBOURNE VICTORIA AUSTRALIA
Mornington Is a seaside suburb of Melbourne, Victoria in Australia.
It is at the start of the Mornington Peninsula which is the summer playground for not only people living in Melbourne but also those from interstate and around the world.
The town started as a fishing village on Port Phillip Bay. Hence today the city revolves around its beaches and fishishg harbour. When the weather is nice, the main streets are full of people in cafes, restaurants and bars which spill onto the pavement. Main street also becomes a virtual car show with local car enthusiasts showing off their pride and joy. A lot of car clubs do the round trip drive to Mornington from Melbourne.
There are Plenty of beaches for many different activities, including swimming, snorkelling, sailing, boating, fossil hunting and fishing.
The Briars is a couple of minutes drive out of town. It includes bushwalking/hiking in the wildlife sanctuary, Heritage homestead and garden, Eco living Display Centre, Shire Nursery. Restaurant, Cafe, Outdoor Ed Camp, Astronomical Society, BBQs, Picnics, Boardwalks, River Estuary, Outdoor Cinema and Vineyard. So you can spend quite a while here.
Closer into town are the Mornington Botanical Rose Gardens and Oak Hill Gallery.
Every Wednesday is the street market in Main street where stalls are set up along the pavement in town. It goes from 9.00 till 3.00 . Every second Sunday of the month is the big market at the Mornington Racecourse which is every second sunday of the month.

Sunnyside, Nude Beach | Melbourne, Victoria | Explore Australia | Mornington Peninsula
#Sunnyside North Beach is a clothes-optional beach located at Mount Eliza, Port Philip Bay, in the State of Victoria, Australia. It is designated as a legal #nudist #beach. It is the only clothes-optional beach on the east side of Port Philip Bay.
It is a nude beach, where sun bathers come and become nude to develop confidence among themselves.
Sex and Alcohol in the beach is strictly prohibited along with the pets.
Sunnyside North is a sheltered, secluded beach on the eastern side of Port Phillip, near Mount Eliza. It attracts many families and is a safe beach for swimming. There is a large grassed area to sunbathe and shady areas to sit south of the carpark, not in the clothes optional area. The clothing optional area is NOT where the carpark is. To get to the clothing optional area look for a narrow path i.e. Start walking back up the carpark with the water to your left and you will see the path. Continue along the narrow 1 foot wide winding path for about 400 metres and you will see the nude area.
How to reach: The beach is near the end of Sunnyside Road, off Nepean Highway about 2.5 km south of Mount Eliza. The car park is in front of Sunnyside beach, which is not a nudist beach. Sunnyside North, the clothes optional beach is in the next cove which is a 10-minute bush walk from the carpark.
A path leads from the Sunnyside Beach carpark to Sunnyside North Beach around the point to the right (north). At high tide the beach is accessible via a path over the cliffs (although over recent years, erosion has taken its toll on this path and as of 2012, it is no longer continuous and pretty much unusable) at low tide you can also walk along the beach and over the rocks that divide the 2 beaches. Reasonably sturdy shoes are recommended

City Description:

Shopping is concentrated in pedestrianised Murray and Hay streets, with high-end boutiques on King Street. The neighbouring 19th-century port of Fremantle draws visitors to its craft markets, an 1850s prison and seafood restaurants in the Fishing Boat Harbour. The shoreline north of Perth is known as the Sunset Coast. It's home to family-friendly Cottesloe Beach, popular snorkelling site Marmion Marine Park and Trigg Beach, with large waves for surfing.

Perth is warm and sunny year-round, with cooling sea breezes in summer (Dec–Feb). Many travelers visit Oct–Apr. Popular warm-weather events are the Perth International Arts Festival (Feb–Mar), with many cultural performances; and Sculpture by the Sea (Mar) on Cottesloe Beach. Winter (Jun–Aug) is the rainiest time of year and also when large swells for surfing are the most consistent. Wildflower viewing season is Aug–Nov.
