Nakhon Ratchasima is also known as Korat it’s the same place
KHONGS HISTORY
The name of the district originates from the founding legend of its main settlement. A hunter named Khong who was the settler of the town. He welcomed people to settle in the new town. The people named the town after him Mueang Khong.
The area became a sub-district (King Amphoe) of Bua Yai district in 1938. It was officially upgraded to a full district in 1947. The centre of the city is in Ban Kut Rang
LOCATION
Khong is in the northern part of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, north-eastern Thailand.

One of the major city of Isan(North-east Thailand).
The city is commonly known as Korat, a shortened form of its name. It is the governmental seat of the Nakhon Ratchasima Province and Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District.
Nakhon Ratchasima is the heart of the Nakhon Ratchasima metropolitan area.
It is about 4 hours from Bangkok by bus.
City is big but really quiet and calm, so if you are tired of busy crowded place it`s a good place to stay.

Attractions in Khao Yai, Thailand
Khao Yai, meaning large mountain in Thai language, usually refers to an area in the Sankamphaeng mountain range of Thailand which is now Khao Yai National Park. Khao Yai is A UNESCO World Heritage Sit and Thailand’s third largest and one of the most visited national parks. It spreads across four provinces, namely Saraburi (west), Nakhon Nayok (east), Nakhon Ratchasima (north) and Prachinburi (east). The highest peak, at Khao Rom, is 1,351 metres above sea level.
