Holland America Line - Nieuw Amsterdam - Day 1 - Embarking

This is my first time being on a cruise ship and as well as my first cruise. My family and I decided to take a 7-day round trip Caribbean cruise on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam which it will call at Grand Turk, San Juan, Saint Thomas, Half Moon Cay, and back to Fort Lauderdale.
Today, we boarded the ship for the first time, went to our stateroom, and then went up to the Lido for lunch before the muster drill. After that, I went outside to see the sail away from Port Everglades and went to the dining room to meet our reservation. Then I went to visit the Sea View pool at night as well, there's nothing to see but the tail of water.

Our Cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam
Our first Holland America cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam to the Eastern Caribbean in October 2017. The itinerary was totally changed due to hurricane damage by Irma and Maria...we visited two ports in the Dominican Republic and beautiful Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
