Kuantan - Tourist Attractions in Malaysia
Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang, the third largest state in Malaysia. It is near the mouth of the Kuantan River and faces the South China Sea. If one measures the distance along the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, it is located roughly halfway between Singapore and Kota Bharu. Kuantan is the ninth largest city in Malaysia.
The National Physical Plan 2005 identified Kuantan as one of the future growth centres and a hub for trade, commerce, transportation and tourism. Kuantan is considered the social, economic and commercial hub for the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia due to its strategic location. Rapid development has transformed and modernized Kuantan. Since 2005, Kuantan has had many development projects, including Putra Square, Mahkota Square, Bukit Gambang Water Resort, Kuantan Sentral, Pahang Tech Park and Kuantan Port City under the Kuantan District Locality Plan 2004-2015. Recently, the introduction of Malaysia's first Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Kuantan is designed to boost the regional economy, tourism and growth. In an effort to catalyse the growth of the Kuantan Metropolitan Precinct, the government has sited a petroleum manufacturing area in Pekan, a neighbouring town.
Visit KUALA SELANGOR 2 days trip 2017
Here I share our 2 days visit and places we went in KUALA SELANGOR.
Kuala Selangor is a district in Selangor state located at the main seawater fish catching area of west costal at Peninsular Malaysia. Its takes about 1hr drive from Klang or Kuala Lumpur. Its a great escape from city life.
We stayed in Hj Kamaruddin Homestay in town itself. Reasonable price RM210 per night. 4 rooms, 2 toilet and a bathroom. Spacious but spider web every way. OK for short stay. The owner, Mr Hj Kamaruddin, very kind and flexible man.
1st day, visit to Bukit Malawati. Can find silver leaf monkeys over here. Feeding them is a must and the monkeys are very tame. Food for feeding is sold for RM10 per sack of banana. Transport to top of hill provided with ticket price RM3.50 for adults. On top of hill, there are plenty of spot for sight seeing such as Kuala Selangor Museum, light house (cannot enter), Park, old wells and more but we went to museum only. It will take hours just by walking around.
Seafood is the one of the main attraction in Kuala Selangor, night we went for dinner to infamous Restaurant Bagan. Restaurant offers varieties of Chinese cooking style, a lot of seafood restaurant is pork free, suitable for people did not eat pork. We had salted egg crab, dried chili crab, ginger steamed fish, garlic cooked sweet potato leaf, dried chili mantis prawn and chili chicken. All cost RM350. Tasted good too.
2nd day went out for prayers. Did some purchasing. Lunch went to Restaurant Sungai Yu. Only noodles served here. On the way back, had tea time in Cendol Durian Borhan. This restaurant kind of overrated. They have variety types of cendol but taste so and so and using only durian paste.
The places we missed are sky mirror and fire flies because both places needs to get boat rides. Its hard with young kids with us. Next time.. Next time..
