La Contrada dei Monti in the town of Orta San Giulio
Orta San Giulio is unbelievably picturesque and one of the most romantic places to dine here is the Albergo Ristorante Leon d'Oro, whose owners, the Ronchetti family, have another small, reasonably priced hotel, La Contrada dei Monti, in the middle of the village.
This 16th-century building has been lovingly renovated, with great care taken to preserve the original architectural features such as arches, wood beams, exposed stone walls, and wrought-iron fixtures, but adding all the modern comforts such as tiled bathrooms, telephones, and satellite TVs.
The intimate reception area has a charming sitting area with splendid arched ceiling embellished with fresco paintings, a fireplace flanked by prettily upholstered chairs, and a handsome tiled floor highlighted by the family coat of arms.
The overall ambiance is one of exceptional quality and charming, refined elegance. The core of the hotel is a central courtyard where breakfast is served on warm days.
When it is chilly, guests use a sweet breakfast room with a beamed ceiling.
The guestrooms are also attractive, with lovely fabrics that color-coordinate with the bedspreads and draperies. Bedrooms are all very similar in decor, but the color scheme varies with each floor.

Orsogna - Abruzzo
Street scenes of today's Orsogna a small town in the Abruzzo area of Italy. Many of the towns original inhabitants migrated to America and settled in the Astoria Queens County New York. In fact inorder to hear the original Orsognese dialect you can only hear it in Astoria as the town in Italy no longer speaks Orsognese.

Le Grotte di Ara si trovano nella frazione di Grignasco (NO). Il torrente Magiaiga con le sue spettacolari cascate, giorno dopo giorno continua a modificare le cavità di quattro grotte davvero bellissime. Pensate che in un vecchio manoscritto, uno studioso di storia locale ha definito le grotte di Ara come “Tempio delle fate, grotte delle sirene, luogo prediletto dalle Sibille”. Dopo aver visitato queste grotte a dir poco spettacolari, sono andato ad Orta San Giulio per prendere il battello e visitare prima l'Isola per poi dedicarmi al Sacro Monte!
Tutto in poco meno di 4 minuti :D
Finalmente sono riuscito ad usare il drone anche se col vento è quasi sempre un pò instabile.

Borghi d'Italia celebra il bicentenario della nascita di Giuseppe Verdi con una puntata dedicata al Comune di Busseto. Il grande compositore italiano nacque a Roncole di Busseto il 13 ottobre del 1813.

A full afternoon, till early evening, visit to the small town called “Orta San Giulio” (Orta Saint Jules), located on the shores of the homonymous lake (Orta Lake). “Orta San Giulio” is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region of Piedmont, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) northeast of Turin and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Novara.

The town itself is built on a promontory which juts out from the eastern bank of Lake Orta close to Isola San Giulio, an island which also falls within the municipal boundaries. The frazione Legro stands on the hill which rises behind the promontory, Corconio is some 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) further south, and again away from the lake, while Imola consists of a small number of dwellings between the two, but close to the lake on the road leading to Gozzano. The municipality borders on Pettenasco to the north, Miasino and Ameno to the east, Bolzano Novarese and Gozzano to the south, and San Maurizio d'Opaglio and Pella to the west across the lake.
It is well known for the nearby Sacro Monte, which is a site of pilgrimage and worship and, like the town itself and the island, is a popular destination for fairly small-scale tourism. In 2003, the Sacro Monte of Orta was inserted by UNESCO in the World Heritage List.
In May 1882, Friedrich Nietzsche and Lou Andreas-Salomé, accompanied by her mother and a mutual friend, visited Orta for a few days on their way back from a Grand Tour of Italy. The couple visited the Sacro Monte for some hours and Nietsche fell in love with the charming Russian. Salomé could not afterwards remember if she had kissed the philosopher and she was not in love with him, a fact which caused him much anguish. Orta San Giulio can easily be spot from the top of mount “Mottarone”, facing “Lake Maggiore” and just behind the municipality of “Stresa” (in the province of Verbania).
During the day we had the opportunity to take the boat that would take us to the close Isola San Giulio (St Jules Isle, hence the name of the town), located just in front of the town, and visit it. Great chance to enjoy a pleasant boat trip around the lake.
Clips have been shot (both inland and on the close isle “San Giulio”), entirely manual, with the CANON EOS M with Magic Lantern installed, with the MCM rewire shooting mode set at 1736x976 and with a CineStyle log profile. All clips have been retouched for color/exposure/sharpness etc in MLVApp prior to exporting/converting the RAW clips, and then color graded in DaVinci Resolve 16 (beta 3). Original clips have been exported in Apple ProRes 4444 format, with Alexa Log-C profile, and then imported in DaVinci for editing, cuts, stabilization, music and color grading (LUT, DaVinci Resolve FG_CineVibrant). The video also contains a few clips/stills shot with the CANON EOS M100. Audio (ambient sound) has been captured through a Rode VideoMic Go mic. Video edited and rendered in 4K UHD 3840x2160 in cinematic format, 24fps. Video filesize: 4.85GB, average bit rate: 70Mb/s.

This video is a natural complement of my previous one (link: shot in the same location (Lake Orta), same day, and only has clips shot with the CANON EOS M100 mirror-less camera (FHD @60fps), whereas the previous one was made out of clips shot with the EOS M + ML (but included a few clips and stills shot with the M100 as well).
