Rolling through Santa Rosalia & Loreto in Baja California Sur, Mexico
It's finally ready! Our first recipe book was inspired by our travels through Baja, Mexico. 21 delicious vegan, plant-based, and gluten-free recipes - learn more:
Time to roll out of Guerrero Negro and from the Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula back over to the Sea of Cortez side. We’re moving fast, as fast as you can through the Baja. But we have to navigate La Cuesta Invierno or “the grade from hell” as we do it. It was a narrow road with lots of twisty turns. And they don’t tell you the % grade here so who knows. It’ll be fun to climb back up on the way out.
We overnight just south of Santa Rosalia in a beautiful cove and then head on to a boondocking spot just south of Loreto. Not much time to explore the town here, but we did find a decent vegan meal. Maybe we can hit it up on the way back north. Lots of scenery this video, not so much adventuring, unless you count simply existing down here.

ABANDONED FRENCH MINE IN MEXICO [Adventure #75]
Wandering around the old town of Santa Rosalía we find an incredible abandoned copper mining operation. Founded in the 1800’s by the French El Boleo company, the old foundry building, among many others has been completely abandoned, although we discover the mine is still in operation. Here, we try to survive the scorching summer heat, refilling our drinking water, getting a part welded for our sailboat and taking in the town’s history.
