Aracaju is the capital of the state of Sergipe, Brazil. It is located on the coast, four hours north of our home in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Many people told us to visit this place because of its great people and tourist attractions. Aracaju was so fun! The Mercado Municipal Governador Albano Franco was the biggest and best market I have seen here in Brazil. The city is a relaxed beach town with a large well-known bridge. There is a wonderful gondola ride over a huge beautiful park that takes you to more hikes and a huge statue. They have a great zoo with beautiful birds, a giant boa constrictor, monkeys and lots more animals. There are tons of amazing restaurants and cool sights like enormous statues of African Gods, crabs and Caju fruit. At night there are parks that have tons of entertainment for kids and families like trampolines, bounce houses and race cars, bumper cars, music and a fun play grounds. It was wonderful. Video 79

Portuguese Practice – 5 Things I love About Brazil
I’m an American Learning Portuguese. This is my first experience with a second language and it has been a big lesson in patience and diligence. Verbs and prepositions are the hardest part. I kept this video short and simple. I will keep practicing and learning. Maybe in 6 months I will make another video.
We moved our family of 7 from Reno, Nevada, USA to Brazil 1 year ago. It hasn’t been easy but totally worth it. We always talked about how cool it would be to live abroad and expose our children to a new culture, language and way of life. So instead of just dreaming about it, we actually did it. Brazil has pushed us out of our comfort zone in so many ways. There have been moments of complete frustration, confusion and mistakes. But there have been even more times of great adventures, excitement, growth and bliss. No matter how hard it gets, it feels so good to be living our dream. We don’t regret moving to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil one bit and we plan to stay for another 4 years. We want to open more Big Jumps, travel all around Brazil and become fluent in Portuguese. We will keep posting videos of our adventures and experiences. We love Brazil and feel so blessed to be here. Video 87

Outdoor Markets in Brazil
The Sao Joaquim Market is full of exotic fruits, spices, meats, jewelry, home decor and so much more. It’s the Largest Market in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil with a maze of over 300 vendor booths. You can also purchase live animals to slaughter for fresh meat later on. This was the kids favorite part. They liked seeing all the different animals. I loved all the beautiful colors of fruits and spices. It was fun to walk through the maze of food, pottery, baskets, home décor and many other African Brazilian gifts and treasures. The market was busy with tourists photographing the colorful market and people buying food. If you are looking for unique items you will find them here.

Minecraft Birthday for Mateus
Birthday parties in Brazil are so much fun. They really know how to decorate and make the event special. This is Mateus’ second birthday in Brazil and much different than one he had last year. For his 10th birthday we had only been in Brazil for 2 weeks. We didn’t have any friends or even pots or pans to bake a cake. But we still had fun as a family. This year we had our business up and running so we had a great place to have a party and lots of friends to celebrate. And we had a full scale Brazilian party with salgados, brigadeiro, candy, decore and music. It’s nice to have a great celebration but we believe what is most important is that Mateus feels loved and special on his special day. The best way to honor someone is not measured by the size of the gift but by the love, hugs, kind words and time spent together. These things are free and should be poured out abundantly. We love Mateus and are so proud of what a great young man he is turning out to be. Video 91
