Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro, landscape, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, South America
Corcovado, meaning hunchback in Portuguese, is a mountain in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 710-metre (2,329 ft) granite peak is located in the Tijuca Forest, a national park. It is sometimes confused with nearby Sugarloaf Mountain. Corcovado hill lies just west of the city center but is wholly within the city limits and visible from great distances. It is known worldwide for the 38-metre (125 ft) statue of Jesus atop its peak, entitled Cristo Redentor or Christ the Redeemer. The peak and statue can be accessed via a narrow road or by the 3.8 kilometre (2.4 mi) Corcovado Rack Railway which was opened in 1884 and refurbished in 1980. The railway uses three electrically powered trains, with a passenger capacity of 540 passengers per hour. The rail trip takes approximately 20 minutes and departs every 20 minutes. Due to its limited passenger capacity, the wait to board at the entry station can take several hours. The year-round schedule is 8:30 to 18:30. From the train terminus and road, the observation deck at the foot of the statue is reached by 223 steps, or by elevators and escalators. Among the most popular year-round tourist attractions in Rio, the Corcovado railway, access roads, and statue platform are commonly crowded. The most popular attraction of Corcovado mountain is the statue and viewing platform at its peak, drawing over 300,000 visitors per year. From the peak's platform the panoramic view includes downtown Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (lake), Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Estádio do Maracanã (Maracanã Stadium), and several of Rio's favelas. Cloud cover is common in Rio and the view from the platform is often obscured. Sunny days are recommended for optimal viewing. Notable past visitors to the mountain peak include Pope Pius XII, Pope John Paul II, Alberto Santos-Dumont, German Sueiro Vasquez, Albert Einstein, and Diana, Princess of Wales. An additional attraction of the mountain is rock climbing. The south face had 54 climbing routes as of 1992. The easiest way starts from Park Lage.
The Corcovado is also a symbol of the Brazilian culture. The peak of Corcovado is a big granite dome, which describes a generally vertical rocky formation. It is claimed to be the highest such formation in Brazil, the second highest being Pedra Agulha, situated near to the town of Pancas in Esprito Santo.

Paragliding in Puerto Galera Philippines at Domingo Fly Site
The BADLADZ Team joined our good friend Jimmy Giroux from Adrenaline Dealer and Steve Millard to scale the mountain side on the backside of BADLADZ Beach Resort here in Puerto Galera also known as Domingo so they can jump off a perfectly good mountain with their paragliders and fly down to the beach resort.
I make videos of tourist spots in the Philippines, things to see, what to do, and where to stay around Puerto Galera and this footage was captured on helmet cams, our DJI Phantom 3 drone and a Cannon DSLR on a tripod.
On the first trip up Steve was able to get up three times on his Ozone Zero 17 mini wing, one of which he had a rough landing and being dragged for 10 meters down the back of the slope. Steve was undeterred though and gave it a third go and had much more successful flight and landed safely back in the bowl.
Jimmy was able to successfully take off and make it down to the beach resort on his first flight. Unfortunately we were unable to get footage of his landing on the beach due to the battery running out on his camera but we did get some footage of him while he was on the mountain.
The second day we scaled the mountain we left part of the team down at the resort to get footage of his landing on the beach, but as you will see things didn't quite go as planned. Watch the video to find out.
We welcome all paragliding enthusiasts and their group events to BADLADZ and look forward to hosting more adventure seekers in the future.

Ají de Gallina: Delicous Peruvian cuisine in Lima, Peru
Aji de gallina is a delicious Peruvian classic - slightly spicy and bright yellow from the famous aji amarillo peppers, and rich from the unusual cream sauce made with ground walnuts. This dish is traditionally served over rice, with boiled yellow potatoes and black olives. You can buy frozen yellow aji peppers (they often look more orange than yellow) at Latin food markets. You can also find jarred aji amarillo paste, which works well too. If you can't find aji amarillo peppers, then substitute another hot chile pepper and add a yellow bell pepper for color.

Ají de Gallina: delicious Peruvian cuisine in Lima, Peru Travel Video Transcript:
#eatPERU
It is lunchtime again here in Lima and today we are going to be trying a traditional dish called Ají de gallina. This is probably like one of those national dishes that you can find at almost any restaurant. But we're eating it at a place called Republica which makes Peruvian dishes but kind of like in a casual fast food setting. So yeah, it should be interesting. We've placed our order and that should be coming soon.
Cat friend. Hi, cat friend. Hi.
Okay, so the food is already here. That came very quickly.
So let's have a look at the plate. This is Ají de gallina and as you can see it is kind of like a chicken stew. It is made with shredded chicken and the sauce has a cream, cheese and peanut base. And also the way they thicken this sauce is by adding bread crumbs that have been soaked in either a broth or milk and this is served with rice or boiled potatoes. And the boiled potatoes and kind of hiding underneath all of the chicken here. Oh, we do have boiled potatoes.
We do. Yeah. I thought we were just given rice.
So this is a very hearty meal. I'm kind of glad we're sharing one plate because there is no way I could eat all of this. Um, but yeah, let's dig right in. I'm just going to try it with rice here. Look at that. This looks so good.
This is one of my favorite ways that chicken is prepared here in Peru. I love this dish. Mmmmhmmm.
And, I don't know if I forgot to mention this but another key ingredient is Aji. The hot pepper. But because it has a cream base it is not super spicy. So I really love this.
Look, they actually gave us aji sauce too.
In case we want it spicier. Maybe we should add a little bit. In case it wasn't enough. Yeah, just dunk it all over that rice. I'm not sure if that is how it is done but that is how we do it.
So it is now Sam's turn to dig in. Yes, my turn. And what is really cool about this dish is like you were saying it is kind of a everyday dish. An everyday part of Peruvian cuisine and this is something we've had a lot at your Aunt and Grandma's house. Oh yes, this is our first time to film it but it is a dish we are very familiar with.
For me it is just the sauce that makes it. I love the cheese and the cream and peanuts. Those are all ingredients I really like. And then when you add tender chicken to that and a little bit of rice. That is just such a winning combo.
And to wash this all down what did you get? I got myself a strawberry smoothie and this is oh natural with no sugar added. So it is not super sweet but it is healthy.
Taste those strawberries?
So we polished that off in like a minute and a half. Yeah, more like demolished it. But what was really cool about this is that it tasted homemade even though this is kind of a fast food type of joint.
The actual Ají de gallina it tasted homemade.
It tasted like what we've been eating at my family's place.
Yeah, yeah. It was amazing. Authentic, delicious, cheap and really tasty.
So now tell us how much did we spend on that delicious Ají de gallina?
You know what, it wasn't expensive. It was only 14 Soles so in total that was four dollars and fifty cents US. Really good value and yeah I'd recommend coming here because the food was authentic, homemade style and we're satisfied. Yeah, so this place is called Republica. Yum.
