Touristic City of Barra Bonita
Bathed by a virtually clean Tietê River, Barra Bonita's main attraction is its lock, the first built in South America, created to overcome the 26 meters of the hydroelectric power plant named after the city. Tourists can take rides in boats for 100, 300, 400 and 700 passengers.
The Praça do Teleférico (Cable Car Square) is another interesting venue, with attractions such as paddle boats in the artificial lake, kart track and the Trade Fair Center.
Downtown, there is the Trenzinho Simpatia train ride, the Jardineira and the Barra Bonita tram, which takes a tour around the city's main touristic sites, such as the Artesanato square, Tietê River Memorial and the historic Campos Salles bridge.

RIO CARNIVAL 2015 IS FROM FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13 TO WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2015 IN RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL!! To warm you up for Rio Carnival 2015, the world’s biggest party, author Paul Hodge has provided the following great video chapter from his video book RIO CARNIVAL 2014.
From February 5 to February 22, 2015. Paul’s comprehensive HD video coverage of the 2015 RIO CARNIVAL celebrations will include the world famous Rio Samba School Parade Competitions in Rio’s Sambadromo, Rio’s wild Carnival block parties and the parties on Rio’s famous beaches. Please Enjoy !!
Beating out nine other Rio samba schools in the Rio Carnival 2014 Samba School Parade Competitions, Portela Samba School won third place which was announced Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Paul's HD video Chapter 74, Part 4 of 5 is part of a very unique five-part HD series chronicling the entire Portela Samba School's third place performance at Rio's Sambadromo. Portela Samba School's performance was the second to last performance on the second day of Rio Carnival 2014's Samba School Parade Special Group Competitions. At about 1:30 am, early in the morning of March 4, 2014, the Portela performers put on a fantastic performance which was fully captured by Paul Hodge in his colorful five-part HD series. The Portela Samba School's theme, A River From Sea to Sea: From Valongo to the Glory of St. Sebastian. The performance sings the historical meetings between both sides of the sea, through the channel that bonds them, the Rio Branco Avenue which represents a river where aches, dreams, fights, pleasures, costumes and devotion sail.
Following his coverage of the top three samba schools' performances, Paul will be publishing two additional fantastic HD video series covering the entire performances of the remaining two schools which were 4th and 5th runners up: Uniao da Ilha Samba School (4th Place) and Imperatriz e Grande Rio (5th Place). The winning school, Unidos da Tijuca, and the five other top placing schools took part in the Champions Parade on Saturday, March 8th at the Sambódromo.
