First Time to Batam? Guide to Luxury Solo Travel
Welcome to the complete luxury guide for all the best of what to do, eat, see, local wines to try, and where to stay on Batam. It’s been a long time since I’ve visited an island that was so misunderstood that the tales of my adventures has surprised literally every single person I’ve told! From a tourism standpoint, the island is at a turning point … expanding its offering to the new onset of global travellers and it’s really exciting. Batam and each of the six islands connected by bridges still feel mostly untouched by tourism and it’s a traveller’s dream. There is a ton to see, do, and eat and amazing spots to tuck in for cocktails-fuelled sunset sessions! Come along with me for 10 days as I explore Batam from head to toe and share the best of what I uncover.

KTM Resort in Batam, Indonesia - A Simple Travel Review
It's a 45 minutes ferry ride from Singapore HarbourFront International Terminal. KTM Resort is situated 5 minutes' drive from Sekupang International Ferry Terminal (Batam) and about 25 minutes' drive to its town, Nagoya. It sits tranquilly on a plot area of 50,000 sq metres in a secluded beachfront location facing Singapore city skyline. It's a layback and natural haven, which offers convenience and total relaxation for anybody who needs a short getaway from the hustle and buzzle of city life to unwind.
All accommodations in Balinese style are personally and authentically designed by the owner and founder, the Singapore famous King of Drainage, Mr Koh Tiat Meng, who is the Executive Chairman of Koh Brothers Group Ltd. It blends harmoniously in a lush tropical garden and beachfront facing captivating sea view. It took Mr. Koh about 4 years investing with a capital outlay of S$3.5 million to build it from conceptualization to completion. Singaporeans work and lead a very fast pace city life and I have decided to build this resort as another choice short getaway haven for them to relax, said Mr. Koh.
Be pampered by the warmth of the friendly smiles and services. Experience the tranquility of Mother Nature and rejuvenate your mind and soul at KTM Resort.

WEEKEND GETAWAY: BATAM, INDONESIA (1Day Tour)
When you visit Singapore, Make side trip to Batam, an Indonesian island just an hour away from Singapore by ferry.
You can visit the island for a day or you can stay overnight. Hotel rooms rates are relatively reasonable.
Tip: If you are not an adventurer and would like to see Batam for a day, book a one day tour package. It is relatively cheap and convenient way to see Batam in just one day. :)
Who says travelling alone is no fun!? :) Go and explore and meet awesome people.
And I said to myself, what a wonderful world. :)

Singapore to Batam, Indonesia via HarbourFront Centre Ferry Terminal (on Majestic Fast Ferry)
The main ports on Batam are Batam Center, Sekupang, Waterfront City, Nongsapura and Telaga Punggur. Harbour Bay is now the principle international ferry port for these heading for Nagoya, replacing the outdated Batu Ampar ferry terminal.
Batam Center Ferry Terminal has essentially the most frequent ferry connections to/from Singapore and Johor Bahru. Sekupang, with ferries from Singapore is finest used for those catching home connections to the Sumatra mainland and the Karimun Islands.
To/From Singapore: Ferries departing from the Harbourfront Ferry Terminal go to Batam Centre, Sekupang and Waterfront City (Teluk Senimba) while ferries from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal serve Nongsapura.
