Villa Sveti Marko Selce Croatia - holiday house for rent
Villa St. Marko lies in the center of Selce and is one of the eldest buildings there with the protective status of Ministry of culture. It was built around 1850 and is since then owned by our family. In 2006 it was completely renovated mainly to preserve it, but also to increase the comfort of staying there. The Villa St. Marko was renovated and decorated with a lot of love in a mix of modern and rustic stile. Each floor tells you it’s own story through small details and it’s interior. Every year we do some minor changes to keep up with our guests wishes and needs!!
The Villa lies only about one hundred meters from shore, the first beach is less then two hundred meters away from the first beach, and the closest coffee shop and bakery are less then 20 meters away from the front door.
The house has four levels, four bed-rooms, four bedrooms, one konoba and a wine cellar – that still looks the same as it did 150 years ago, 3 balcony/terraces – one with a beautiful view at the old town and the island Krk.
On the ground floor you will find is one 2 bed – bedroom, an adorable miniature bathroom with a small bathtub, toilette and sink. Here you will also find our konoba with an open fireplace where you can grill and eat even in the hottest days and a wine cellar. This floor is the only floor without any air conditioning unit as it is not necessary even in the hottest of months; in wintertime this floor is heated with floor heating.
On the first floor you will find a spacious kitchen and dining room with an exit to the biggest terrace of the house (15m2) that is ideal for breakfast or dinner in the open. The kitchen is completely equipped with cutlery, plates, pots, pans, a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, toaster, oven and a coffee-machine. Here you will discover a modern double bed bedroom with a small bathroom with shower, sink and toilette. This floor has an available air-conditioning unit, also used for heating in the winter months.
The Second Floor is dedicated to our ancestors and the Heads of our Family. On the second floor the bedroom is equipped with furniture dated in the 19th century – a spacious bathroom with a toilette, bathtub and sink. On this floor you will find the washing machine and the dryer as well as the exit to a small balcony that faces North.
A Wooden staircase leads you past the small house summer library to the third and top floor where you discover our purple floor. A big bathroom with a bathtub, toilette and sink and a spacious 2 bed bedroom – living room with an exit to the top terrace facing South with a beautiful view to the sea, the old town and the island Krk awaits you there. We recommend this floor to the fittest and youngest of our guests.
All floors – except the ground floor (natural air-conditioning) – are equipped with air-conditioning and a terrace and ensure a comfortable stay and a good night sleep. Free WiFi is also available to you in the house. All beds are equipped with linen, and we provide 2 towels (no beach towels) per person. The bed linen is usually changed – unless arranged differently – once a week.

The most beautiful hidden beaches in Croatia Krk
In this video (drone view) you can see the most beautiful hidden beaches in Europe. The golden island, as the island of Krk has been called since ancient times, is the nearest island to western Europe. We do not consider it an island so much anymore because it has been connected with mainland since 1980 a 1400m long bridge made of reinforced concrete. Krk has approximately 16500 year round inhabitants in seventy different settlements.
The island Krk has many different landscapes . The north part of the island is almost bare because of the strong wind called bura (Italian: bora) while the southernpart abounds with greenness and gentle bays. Inland, rocky hills alternate with fertile fields. This sort of relief favorably provides for the cultivation of grapes and the production of the well-known wine Vrbnička Žlahtina.
Croatia has a long tradition of naturist tourism, creating an image of an ideal naturist destination by organisation and construction of adequate specialized buildings and facilities.

Selce is a small and beautiful tourist resort as well as the Kvarner harbor, 3km south-east of Crikvenica and 40 km south of Rijeka in Croatia. Natural beauty and clear water is a perfect place for holidays. Thanks to the mild climate Selce also has an important rehabilitation centre – treatment centre for people with rheumatic, respiratory and physical disabilities. Selce is mainly dominated by pebbly beaches and the problem can only be the crowds in the season. Let see how it looks when the beach is full at holiday time and the next day at the morning.
