Pigs saved from floods after crying farmer photos go viral
More than sixty pigs have been rescued from a flooded farm in China after photographs of farmers saying a tearful goodbye to the animals went viral. Report by Conor Mcnally.

While huge parts of Africa are still famine-stricken, large areas of fertile agricultural land on the continent are put up for sale. Since the collapse of the financial markets smart investors have gone looking for new opportunities and, given the increasing world population and high prices of raw materials, agricultural land seems a safe bet. With lots of cheap land Africa is a Walhalla. We never see how these investors actually operate. But Backlight was able to watch one of them, Phil Heilberg, former Wall Street banker, in action.

Teochew people
The Chaozhou people are Chinese people, native to the Chaoshan region of eastern Guangdong province who speak the Teochew dialect. Today, most Teochew people live outside China in Southeast Asia, especially in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia. They can also be found almost anywhere in the world, including North America, Australia and France.
The Teochew speak Chinese Teochew dialect; Teochew cuisine is also distinctive. The ancestors of the Teochew people moved to present-day Chaoshan from the Central Plains of China in order to escape from a series of civil wars during the Jin Dynasty.
