The Château de Gudanes is an 18th-century neoclassical château in the commune of Château-Verdun, in the southern French department of Ariège. It is built on the site of an older castle destroyed in 1580. The château has been a designated monument historique since 1994, but fell into ruin in the late 20th century. It was purchased in 2013 and is currently being restored.

The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct that crosses the Gardon River near the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard in southern France. The Pont du Gard, built as three tiers of archways to bring water to the city of Nîmes, is the highest of all elevated Roman aqueducts, and one of the best preserved. It was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1985 because of its historical importance. The aqueduct bridge is part of the Nîmes aqueduct, a 50-kilometre system built in the first century AD to carry water from a spring at Uzès to the Roman colony of Nemausus . Tarascon castle is a solid, formidable fortress built on the banks of the Rhone river and surrounded by a moat.

The only way into the castle is by a small bridge that was formerly part of an earlier drawbridge.

Despite its bland exterior, the interior proves to be richly decorated; an unexpected turn from the outside perspective.

During the 17th century the Tarascon Castle underwent a transformation and became a prison.

When time began to deteriorate the castles walls many sought to demolish this landmark; however, in 1932 it was determined that this historic structure would be restored, rather than destroyed.

From a Lord's palace, to a desolate prison, Tarascon now holds many 17th century tapestries in these modern times.
