Top Most Attractions of Kempty Falls, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India
The Kempty Falls are situated on the hilly tracks of Uttarakhand, India, 13 km from Mussoorie on the Chakrata Road. It is about fourteen kilometers from Mussoorie. It is nearly 1364 meters above sea level, at 78°-02’East longitude and 30° -29’North latitude. The Kempty Falls, and the area around is surrounded by high mountain ranges at an altitude of 4500 feet.
Kempty Falls are one of the most beautiful water falls in not only Uttarakhand, rather the whole of India. Enveloped by high mountain cliffs and situated at an altitude of about 4500 feet above the sea level, the falls present an awe-inspiring view as the water falls down from a high altitude and then splits into five streams. The water falling down from Kempty Falls appears to be doing a somersault before it hits the ground. Situated on the Mussoorie-Dehradun Highway, this popular tourist location attracts crowd from all over the country.
Kempty Falls was developed as a picnic spot by the British officer John Mekinan, around 1835. It is believed that, the name ‘Kempty’ is a derivation of the ‘Camp-Tea’, the tea parties that the British used to organize here. Situated on the hilly pathway of Uttarakhand, Kempty Falls are strikingly beautiful. They prove to be the perfect place for picnic or for spending a couple of hours listening to the sound of the water-falls, amidst lush green vegetation.
A stream of water running throughout the year starting from the southwest of village Banglow ki kandi moves northwest and falls from 4,500 ft. Splitting into five other cascades, the water falls a further 40 ft.
Generally, Kempty Falls is crowded with tourists, but after stepping across the lines along the flow of the stream, your may found a secluded rocky corral formed naturally by the streams. The sacred river, Yamuna is not too far from the falls. After 12 km, down the hill on crossing the Aglar River, the waters of Kempty meet Yamuna. Fishing here is very popular. However, permits are to be taken from Divisional Forest Officer, Mussoorie, before fishing at Kempty Falls.

Lalbagh Botanical garden in Bangalore
Indian people walk at Lalbagh Garden in Bangalore in Karnataka. One can see the bandstand in the background. There is environment-friendly electric tour buggy people use for roaming in Lalbagh Garden. There is a collection from the Nation Fossil Park tree fossil Thiruvakkarai, Arcot Tamil Nadu.
Spread over 240 acres of land, the Lalbagh Botanical Garden is located at the heart of the city of Bangalore. It derives its name from two words, 'lal' meaning red, 'bagh' meaning garden and is so called due to the abundance of red roses aplenty. The history of the garden dates back to the era of Hyder Ali, a well-known ruler of old Mysore. In the year 1760, Hyder Ali made a private garden in an area of 40 acres which was further developed by his son Tipu Sultan. It was given the status of a Government Botanical Garden in 1856.
It comprises the largest collection of India’s rare tropical plants, many ancient trees, a decorated flower clock and an imaginary lawn surrounded by Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. Moreover, tourists can enjoy the beauty of a glasshouse, which is inspired by London’s Crystal Palace, one of Kempegowda’s watch towers, a peaceful lake and a topiary park as well. The botanical garden is internationally famous for its scientific study and conservation of plants. For botany students, the place offers ample learning opportunities as rare species of flora are preserved here.

It has legendary stone carvings with exquisite jharokhas (balconies), a fabulous pillared courtyard, delicately carved arches, and a unique spiral staircase. The large chandelier-lit durbar hall (court house) witnesses stuffed panthers, gilt wooden furniture, and antique mirrors. The Private palace museum displays an impressive display of silver caskets which were in the services of carrying messages and gifts for Maharajah Bhagwat Sinhji on his silver jubilee as ruler of Gondal.
