Fingal Head and the small off-shore Island (Cook Island) were first sighted by James Cook about 17:00 on 16 May 1770 (log date and time). The area and small town is often just called Fingal. It is located on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia in Tweed Shire, about 5 km south of the New South Wales and Queensland border, and south of the Gold Coast. At the time of the 2006 census, Fingal Head had a population of 575 people.
Cook Island Aquatic Reserve is a protected area located in the South Pacific Ocean, located 600 metres (2,000 ft) from the Fingal Head mainland of New South Wales. The island was discovered by English explorers in 1770, and has since been visited only sporadically. It is noted as a breeding site for seabirds and, the surrounding marine, for hosting diverse fauna.

Just off Fingal Heads, you can kayak, snorkel and dive around Cook Island. Stunning lionfish, wobbegong, harlequin tuskfish, porcupine fish, turtles and much more. Awesome!

I quick visit of Cook Island from Fingal head. Wonderful place populated by many turtles, dolphins, diverses fish and sharks.
Fantastic but a bit scary due to the presence of big sharks in those water (attracted by the many turtles).

FINGAL HEAD CAMPING, HORSE RIDE, WATERFALLS, TROPICAL FRUIT WORLD
This year we headed South to Fingal Head in New South Wales for our 5 days 4 nights camping. It's perfect little location between river and ocean. We rode horses, visited farm, waterfalls, beaches and even a 'rock pool'.
I will have a separate video on all the fishing I did around Fingal Head in the coming weeks.

I've been visiting this place for over 20 years and on every occasion have managed to see Dolphins. This is a beautiful place and worth a visit if you're in town.
Five Dead Sharks, Fingal Headland Australia - Wearing Out The Kids
This week we went to a beautiful Australian paradise, Fingal Headland, part of the northern New South Wales beaches.
While up on the headland I used the drone to fly over a pod of dolphins in the huge surf that day, and as we walked down to the rocks we saw five dead sharks - although they were just babies, it was a shark graveyard of young sharks in a rock pool where they had been caught at low tide. Very sad to see, but also something you don't see every day.
Fingal is still a beautiful paradise to visit!
