Fingal Head is located on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia.
I've been visiting this place for over 20 years and on every occasion have managed to see Dolphins. This is a beautiful place and worth a visit if you're in town.

Fingal Beach is a dog friendly beach that can be accessed along Fingal Road where off street parking can be found. Dogs are permitted on a leash from the access point north to the Surf Club.

I know it’s starting to get cold in the Northern Hemisphere. So I’ve videoed one of my favourite beaches to entice you DownUnder for your next holiday.
Fingal is on the border of Queensland and New South Wales and is “time stood still”.
There are no tourist attractions, no glitz, no glamour, just an unspoiled beach, dolphins, uncrowded waves and in the migration season, Humpback whales swimming just under the headland.
It is your little bit of paradise just south of the Gold Coast.

Fingal Bay Beach Walk - Fingal Spit to Port Stephens Lighthouse on Fingal Island
A near-perfect C-curve of sand that faces southeast, Fingal Bay has its own island connected by Fingal Spit and is well protected from all but a hefty southeast wind. The spit at the north end which links Fingal Island (also known as Shark Island) to the mainland gets decent waves when the sand builds up.
The island’s key feature is an imposing lighthouse surrounded by beautiful views of the ocean.
Crossing over to the island can be very dangerous if you don't work around the tides, so please be sure to cross during low tide and cross back during low tide. Find all the tide info here:

I had the opportunity to fish at different spots around Fingal Head in northern New South Wales a few weeks ago. I've tried all sort of baits and lures, in river, beach or on rocks, and the result is not that surprising. In this video I will show you exactly where all the spots I have fished.

Home to more than 100 dolphins, the pristine inlet in the vast Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park is twice the size of Sydney Harbour. For spectacular panoramas of the azure waters and beyond there are two excellent vantage points, the Tomaree Head summit and the Gan Gan Hill lookout.

Flying from the beach all the way passed the little nippers surf lifesavers and down to the spit. Watching the side wind as I fly along to Fingal Island. Up and over the Island passing the light house and back again. 2.5km to the far side of the island. 5km round trip.

Spearfishing Australia | Fingal (2019)
Went on another spearfishing adventure here in Australia last weekend and once again had a blast even though Pat had his speargun confiscated by the fisheries because we were in an illegal area. Make sure you check the regulations before you head out folks! Lesson Learned. Fingal Head is still a beautiful place to do some spearfishing and we will be back but this time in a legal area!
