I've been visiting this place for over 20 years and on every occasion have managed to see Dolphins. This is a beautiful place and worth a visit if you're in town.

Fingal Headland drone footage
Some lovely drone footage of Fingal Head on the NSW North Coast in Australia. Includes guest celebs Kim, Kensi the greyhound, Fingal's Giants Causeway, and a dolphin mother and calf surfing.
Filmed manually using a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, with a somewhat nervous wife hovering (only had the drone a couple of weeks)

Fingal Bay Beach Walk - Fingal Spit to Port Stephens Lighthouse on Fingal Island
A near-perfect C-curve of sand that faces southeast, Fingal Bay has its own island connected by Fingal Spit and is well protected from all but a hefty southeast wind. The spit at the north end which links Fingal Island (also known as Shark Island) to the mainland gets decent waves when the sand builds up.
The island’s key feature is an imposing lighthouse surrounded by beautiful views of the ocean.
Crossing over to the island can be very dangerous if you don't work around the tides, so please be sure to cross during low tide and cross back during low tide. Find all the tide info here:

Fingal Head and the small off-shore Island (Cook Island) were first sighted by James Cook about 17:00 on 16 May 1770 (log date and time). The area and small town is often just called Fingal. It is located on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia in Tweed Shire, about 5 km south of the New South Wales and Queensland border, and south of the Gold Coast. At the time of the 2006 census, Fingal Head had a population of 575 people.
Cook Island Aquatic Reserve is a protected area located in the South Pacific Ocean, located 600 metres (2,000 ft) from the Fingal Head mainland of New South Wales. The island was discovered by English explorers in 1770, and has since been visited only sporadically. It is noted as a breeding site for seabirds and, the surrounding marine, for hosting diverse fauna.

Joe and me were on trip on the coast. Joe wanted to show me the Fingal Head Lighthouse. From this huge rock you can see an amazing looking rocky structure. It looks really amazing.

Five Dead Sharks, Fingal Headland Australia - Wearing Out The Kids
This week we went to a beautiful Australian paradise, Fingal Headland, part of the northern New South Wales beaches.
While up on the headland I used the drone to fly over a pod of dolphins in the huge surf that day, and as we walked down to the rocks we saw five dead sharks - although they were just babies, it was a shark graveyard of young sharks in a rock pool where they had been caught at low tide. Very sad to see, but also something you don't see every day.
Fingal is still a beautiful paradise to visit!

Twin town to Coolangatta across the Queensland border. Together they from one resort area continually expanding with new apartment block and houses, businesses and shopping centrers. The State border runs along the centres of Boundary St, with climbs the northern headland to Point Danger and the contemporary Captain Cook lighthouse astride the two States. A Memorial to the mariner in the from of a capstan is molded from the Endeavour's Ballast.
Pleasant Beaches fringe the coast and there is Excellent Fishing. Fingal Head, fractured columns of basalt, is also known as Devil's Causeway, after a similar formation in Ireland.
