Crystal Cave at the Sequoia National Park
Taking California takes on our first cave! We drove up to the Sequoia National Park and discover what thousands of years of water can do! Crystal Cave is the biggest of the caves in the Sequoia National Park & the Kings Canyon.
My favorite part of this adventure was Carlos talking about the stalactites, but not filmed was just a few moments later the tour guide told everyone about stalactites and what they were.
Recommended for the active, the half mile hike down is steep but even harder of a trek coming up.
We took the 50 minute long family tour. Tour tickets can be purchased online and picked up at the Crystal Cave book store at the sight before the tour begins or at the park in the visitor center.
No bags, flash photography allowed and be mindful not to bring anything that has been in another cave or mine so the bats do not get White Nose Syndrome.
Happy Hiking!

Crystal Cave - Sequoia National Park - August, 2017
Our first visit to CRYSTAL CAVE in Sequoia National Park in August, 2017. It was a HOT day....but well worth the half mile walk down to the cave. Inside Crystal Cave the temperature is in the low 50's - refreshing!! The walk back up is a bit steep, and exahausting, but beautiful due to all the waterfalls and trees along the way! We would definitely suggest wearing Closed Toe Shoes and bring a Water Bottle!!
Sequoia National Park ~ Kings Canyon
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. In the California Sierra Nevada is a landscape of superlatives: home to the biggest trees, the deepest canyons and the tallest mountains. Experience cathedral-like sequoia groves, deep underground caverns, lush mountain meadows and glacier-carved canyons. Highlights include visits to Giant Forest, Grant Grove, Moro Rock, Kings Canyon, Mineral King, Crystal Cave and Mt. Whitney.

Generals Highway - this is its proper spelling - is a 52.3-kilometer (32.5-mile) Californian highway connecting Highway 198 and Highway 180. Hiking Sequoia National Park (MORO ROCK & CRYSTAL CAVE)
Sequoia was beautiful! We went on a super hot day but still loved every second. If you plan on going to Sequoia, make sure to have a full tank of gas upon entering the park. There is many, many miles of driving and no gas stations inside. The Crystal Cave tour was 2 hours and only $15 per person. I believe that its worth checking out! Tickets to enter the cave can be purchased at the visitor center.
