Leave the regular world behind when you step into the fog-swathed “City by the Bay.” From shopping adventures in Union Square to a trip on the city’s legendary cable cars, a #vacation to #SanFrancisco is bound to leave you with incredible memories.
#Visit Fisherman’s Wharf and indulge in its shops and galleries, as well as some of the best fresh seafood you’ll ever taste. Walk on the Golden Gate Bridge and take in the fresh sea air and views of the bay and Pacific Ocean. If it’s a more serene environment you’re after, pass through the stately architecture and flowing lagoon of the Palace of Fine Arts.
Of course, San Francisco #sightseeing isn’t complete without an excursion to Alcatraz, the island prison that once held some of the country’s most notorious criminals. Look into its empty cells and thick stone walls and wonder, could you escape “The Rock”?
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Pier 39, San Francisco, California
Pier 39 is one of San Francisco's most famous attractions. This shopping belt is built on a pier and is home to the world famous California Sea Lions. It has numerous souvenir shops (including some very quirky ones) and an equal number of seafood restaurants (and other snack stalls) all catering to tourists from near and far. It also has an aquarium, Aquarium by the Bay, for lovers of sea critters out there.
When I was there in the summer, there was just one rather large sea lion basking in the sun as the sea lion population declines during the summer months. You can view the sea lion webcam courtesy of Pier 39 here:
Pier 39 makes a fun walk for the family or for couples to discover all things tacky or quirky.

Presidio Beach & Sausalito - San Francisco Full City Guide - Travel & Discover
Sausalito developed rapidly as a shipbuilding center in World War II, with its industrial character giving way in postwar years to a reputation as a wealthy and artistic enclave, a picturesque residential community (incorporating large numbers of houseboats), and a tourist destination, and is adjacent to, and largely bounded by, the protected spaces of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

San Francisco: The Painted Ladies
About 48,000 houses in the Victorian and Edwardian styles were built in San Francisco between 1849 and 1915 (with the change from Victorian to Edwardian occurring on the death of Queen Victoria in 1901), and many were painted in bright colors. As one newspaper critic noted in 1885, ...red, yellow, chocolate, orange, everything that is loud is in fashion...if the upper stories are not of red or blue... they are painted up into uncouth panels of yellow and brown...[5] While many of the mansions of Nob Hill were destroyed by the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, thousands of the mass-produced, more modest houses survived in the western and southern neighborhoods of the city.

The San Francisco cable car system is the world's last manually operated cable car system. An icon of San Francisco, the cable car system forms part of the intermodal urban transport network operated by the San Francisco Municipal Railway. San Francisco, California, USA, is a beautiful, exciting and diverse, cosmopolitan city. You can always find something new to see here. San Francisco’s reputation as a city where almost anything goes dates back to the days of the California gold rush. Consistently ranked as America's Favorite City, San Francisco never ceases to entertain. The cable cars are pulled by a cable running below the street, held by a grip that extends from the car through a slit in the street surface, between the rails. Each cable is 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) in diameter, running at a constant speed of 9.5 miles per hour (15.3 km/h), and driven by a 510 horsepower (380 kW) electric motor located in the central power house, via a set of self-adjusting sheaves. Each cable has six steel strands, with each strand containing 19 wires, wrapped around a sisal rope core to allow easier gripping. (More here: The WWII submarine, Pampanito's keel was laid down by the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Kittery, Maine, on 15 March 1943. She was launched on 12 July 1943, and commissioned on 6 November 1943. After shakedown off New London, Connecticut, Pampanito transited the Panama Canal and arrived at Pearl Harbor on 14 February 1944. Her first war patrol, from 15 March to 2 May, was conducted in Saipan and Guam. She served on lifeguard duty south of Yap, then scored two torpedo hits on a destroyer before sailing for Midway Island and Pearl Harbor for refit and repairs to a hull badly damaged by depth charges. Visiting Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
Great National Monument, the Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean.
U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1, the golden gate bridge links the city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County.
I walked from DownTown San Francisco to Marin County, which was an inspirational walk and along the way met so many people of from all walks of life and learnt much from them, in my own life journey.
San Francisco is a great place, I have travelled to this city over 50 plus times and I still discover many many things to do and I always find renewing energy from this amazing bay area.
Go out and explore life and renew your thoughts about life

Fisherman's Wharf is a neighborhood and popular tourist attraction in San Francisco, California. It roughly encompasses the northern waterfront area of San Francisco from Ghirardelli Square or Van Ness Avenue east to Pier 35 or Kearny Street. The F Market streetcar runs through the area, the Powell-Hyde cable car lines runs to Aquatic Park, at the edge of Fisherman's Wharf, and the Powell-Mason cable car line runs a few blocks away.
San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf gets its name and neighborhood characteristics from the city's early days of the mid to later 1800s when Italian immigrant fishermen came to the city by the bay to take advantage of the influx of population due to the gold rush. One, Achille Paladini, found success wholesaling local fish as owner of the Paladini Fish Company, and came to be known as the Fish King. Most of the Italian immigrant fishermen settled in the North Beach area close to the wharf and fished for the local delicacies and the now famed Dungeness crab. From then until the present day it remained the home base of San Francisco's fishing fleet. Despite its redevelopment into a tourist attraction during the 1970s and 1980s, the area is still home to many active fishermen and their fleets.
In 2010, a $15 million development plan was proposed by city officials hoping to revitalize its appearance for tourists, and to reverse the area's downward trend in popularity among San Francisco residents, who have shunned the locale over the years.
