Travel video about destination Hawaii.
The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and form the 50th state of the USA. In the south east of the island of O’Ahu, Honolulu is a modern town and the starting point for most journeys. It also contains the Iolani Palace - once the residence of King David Kalakana -a magnificent Victorian structure in the centre of Honolulu and the only royal palace in the United States. In Pearl Harbour, a museum commemorates the events of the seventh of December 1941 when most of the American Pacific fleet was destroyed by the Japanese. The valley of Nuuanu Pali is of great importance in Hawaiian history. It was here that a deciding battle took place, when King Kamehameh came from Maui and triumphantly drove the troops of the chief of Oahu into the mountains, the result of which formed the political union of the Hawaiian Islands. In winter, the world’s best surfers collect on Sunset Beach, attracted by spectacular waves, some of which reach as high as the tallest church steeples. On the island of Kaua’i, the Wailua is Hawaii’s only navigable river and it flows through some of the exciting locations which were used for Jurassic Park, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Blue Hawaii. Two volcanoes dominate the extraordinary island of Maui, which also features sandy beaches, green pastures, dense jungle and a bleak lunar-like landscape. On Waimea Beach in 1778, the English sea captain, James Cook, was the first European to set foot on Hawaiian territory. The Waimea Canyon was referred to by Mark Twain as ‘The Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, a massive gorge which has been carved out of the volcanic landscape by the Waimea River. From a Victorian style station there is the narrow-gauge Sugar Cane Train which travels through the once prolific sugar plantations of Kaanapali. Haleakale is the world’s largest dormant volcano with a crater as large as Manhattan. But nowhere else in the world can volcanoes be studied as safely as on Big Island in the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park The Hawaiian Islands…priceless pearls in the Pacific Ocean.

Hilo ,beautiful city in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States prepares for Hurricane Lane
Hilo (/ˌhiːloʊ/; Hawaiian: [ˈhilo]) is the largest settlement and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States, which encompasses the Island of Hawaiʻi. The population was 43,263 at the 2010 census.[1]
Hawaii island
Hilo is the county seat of the County of Hawaiʻi and is located in the District of South Hilo.[2] The town overlooks Hilo Bay, at the base of two shield volcanoes; Mauna Loa, an active volcano, and Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano and the site of some of the world's most important ground-based astronomical observatories. Much of the city is at some risk from lava flows from Mauna Loa. The majority of human settlement in Hilo stretches from Hilo Bay to Waiākea-Uka, on the flanks of Mauna Loa.
Hilo is home to the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, ʻImiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaiʻi, as well as the Merrie Monarch Festival, a week-long celebration of ancient and modern hula which takes place annually after Easter. Hilo is also home to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, one of the world's leading producers of macadamia nuts. The town is served by Hilo International Airport.[3]

Hurricane Lane is currently a very powerful tropical cyclone approaching the Hawaiian Islands, the strongest hurricane in the central Pacific since Ioke in 2006, and the first Category 5 Pacific hurricane since Patricia in 2015. The twelfth named storm, sixth hurricane, and fourth major hurricane of the 2018 Pacific hurricane season, Lane originated from a tropical wave that began producing disorganized thunderstorm activity several hundred miles off the southern coast of Mexico on August 11. Over the next four days, the disturbance gradually strengthened amid favorable weather conditions and formed a tropical depression early on August 15. Twelve hours later, the depression intensified into Tropical Storm Lane. Gradual strengthening occurred for the next day and a half which resulted in Lane reaching hurricane status by August 17. Lane then began a period of rapid intensification, becoming a high-end Category 2 hurricane on the same day. Lane continued to rapidly intensify, reaching Category 4 status twelve hours later. Lane reached its initial peak with winds of 140 mph (220 km/h) and a pressure of 948 mbar (27.99 inHg) on August 18. On August 19, Lane crossed into the Central Pacific basin, where it encountered increasing wind shear, subsequently weakening the storm. However, on August 20, Lane re-intensified into a Category 4 hurricane, and reached Category 5 intensity early on August 22.

Hawaii's Big Island, also called the Island of Hawaii, the Big Island or Hawaii Island, which comprises Hawaii County and the Hilo, HI Micropolitan Statistical Area, is an island, county, and Micropolitan Statistical Area located in the U.S. state of Hawaii in the Hawaiian Islands. It is the largest and the southeastern-most of the Hawaiian islands, a chain of volcanic islands in the North Pacific Ocean. With an area of 4,028 square miles (10,430 km2), it is larger than all of the other islands in the archipelago combined and is the largest island in the United States.
The island is often referred to as the Big Island to reduce confusion between the island and the state.
The most important places to visit in Hawaii's Big Island are: Akaka Falls State Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park , Waipio Valley, Kaunaoa Beach, Hilo Farmers Market, Hapuna Beach State Park, Papakolea Beach and many more.
If you want to save time and book the most epic experiences, the most important Hawaii's Big Island travel tip is to call a local activity booker on the island before booking adventures, hotel room or a flight. The reason to do so, is that you might be driving a lot more than you thought you would, unless you know exactly where to stay. You can do this for free on a site that books all of the best adventures and offers free activity planning.
Hawaiian Islands Vacation Travel Video Guide
Honolulu, the capital of the Hawaiian Islands has developed into a lively city. In the heart of the city there’s a statue in honour of King Kamehama The Third who in 1840 moved his government residence from the island of Maui to Honolulu on Oahu, thus unifying the island kingdom. In later years the Victorian Iolani Palace became the new residence of those who ruled Hawaii. Hawaii wouldn’t be Hawaii if it were not for its world famous surfers when during the winter season the northern part of Oahu with its Waimea Bay, Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach is extremely popular with surfers. A total of a hundred and thirty two islands, atolls and reefs make up the island group of Hawaii. Only a twenty-minute flight from Oahu and Honolulu is the fourth largest island, ‘Garden Island’ or, Kauai. Like no other island in the archipelago, Kauai is full of contrast: while temperatures on the palm beaches are mostly summer-like, dry and warm, the interior of the island is one of the moistest regions in the world. Apart from pleasure boats it’s mainly canoes and kayaks that travel on the waters of the southern and northern sections of the Wailua River, an adventurous and also very popular way of exploring the interior of Kauai. Picturesque insights into the Hawaii of bygone times are provided in the small village of Kamokila, an original Hawaiian village that has been reconstructed in every detail. The Haleakala National Park contains the world’s greatest dormant volcano and the clear night skies of this unique region have made it ideal for the observation of stars and satellites. What could be better than to observe the colourful transformation of the landscape while lying on a beach surrounded by palm trees and falling under the spell of this enchanting island paradise? Aloha Hawaii!

Hawaii's MOST Scenic Place - Horseback Riding the Waipio Valley Rim ???? (DJi Mavic)
Come with us on a horseback riding adventure on the rim of the Waipio Valley, possibly Hawaii's most scenic spot ! We use Waipio Ridge Stables (link below), a great tour group to lead us around one of the Big Island's most interesting areas. I get plenty of great DJi Mavic drone shots from high above the Waip'io valley (and Hiilawe Falls). We even stop at a smaller waterfall to have lunch where I attempt to dive into freezing cold water. Enjoy the Hawaii Life with us, as the series is almost coming to a close. Be sure to subscribe and leave a comment if you enjoyed the vlog. Number 10: Kaimuki House of Horrors.
This is one of the most famous spooky places in Hawaii because, according to all accounts – it’s the most haunted one. It’s located in a residential part of Honolulu, called Kaimuki, right on the corner of 8th and Harding. Judging by its appearance, the house looks completely normal. Nothing strange or spooky. But there’s more to it than that.
There is a legend that an evil ghost lives in the house, and that it’s a Kasha – a Japanese ghost, destined to feed of the blood and corpses. Throughout the years, many people came to this house, either to live in it permanently or rent it for vacation, but they were all – terrified. There were strange noises, screams, but even worse things than that. In 1942, police were called to the house, where a woman was screaming “she’s trying to take my children”. And the policemen saw the children being thrown around by some invisible presence. And this is just one of the instances when supernatural forces were at work in the Kaimuki house. No one’s sure what the cause of it all is, but many people speculate that it all started when a man killed his wife and two children in the house; his wife and son were found buried in the backyard, but the daughter was lost forever…
Number 9: Kamehameha's Bones.
Kamehameha is one of the most important and most celebrated rulers of Hawaii. He is also known as Kamehameha the Great, because he unified the separated islands of Hawaii into a single state. Kamehameha died in 1819, but his exact burial place is still kept secret.
The ancient Hawaiians had a developed system of burial rituals, but they were not the same for all people. The funeral rites that were used for higher-ups, such as chiefs, were much more complex, and they had an additional aura of solemnity to them. After the funeral rites, Kamehameha’s bones were hidden, never to be found. But this was not done simply to prevent anyone from finding the late ruler’s bones – it was also a part of a bigger custom, called “hunakele”. The word “hunakele” can be translated as “hiding in secret”, and the idea behind it was to prevent an enemy of getting the deceased bones, thus absorbing his power, called “mana”. It is still not known where Kamehameha’s bones are, but many believe that they are buried in a sacred cave on the Big Island.
Number 8: Old Pali Road.
This is one of those places full of supernatural stories and haunted legends. Nowadays, the road gave way to a modern highway, but the legends and spooky stories are still here.
Throughout the years, there have been many sightings of supernatural beings, and many strange accidents occurred. Many of those accidents are still unexplained. There were people who have seen a strange-looking being, resembling a ghost, that was crossing the road and surprising the coming drivers. Another very interesting fact is that, near this road, there is a place called Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, which is one of the most important locations in Hawaiian history. Nu'uanu Pali is where King Kamehameha fought a major battle during the struggle for Hawaiian Unification. On this location, there is also a ghostly creature roaming about at night, haunting everyone who comes near it…
Number 7: The Haunted Iolani Palace.
This is one of the most haunted places on the island of Oahu, as many people have claimed all kinds of supernatural occurrences there. These things have become so common that nobody seems to notice them anymore. The Iolani Palace is the home of the Hawaiian monarchy, and thousands of people come to visit it every year. It is located in downtown Honolulu, and to this day – there are all kinds of spooky stories going on there. Everyone, from palace guards to tourist guides and tourist have claimed that very strange things are happening inside Iolani Palace. For example, there is a piano in the palace that’s always kept locked in a glass case. However, although the security guards do not have the key to the glass case, they can often hear the piano being played at night. It’s never a melody, or a chord, but a random sequence of notes, one after the other, in no particular order. When they tried to capture this on security cameras, they were amazed: the piano keys were not moving, but the music kept being played. And this is just one of those supernatural things Iolani is famous for…

Visit Waikiki Hawaii Tour
Enjoy a casual visit around Waikiki, Honolulu, the people, the scenes, the shops, the music and more - See more cool stuff at
Located on the south shore of Honolulu, the world-famous neighborhood of Waikiki was once a playground for Hawaiian royalty. Known in Hawaiian as spouting waters, Waikiki was introduced to the world when its first hotel, the Moana Surfrider, was built on its shores in 1901. Today, Waikiki is Oahu's main hotel and resort area and a vibrant gathering place for visitors from around the world. Along the main strip of Kalakaua Avenue you'll find world-class shopping, dining, entertainment, activities and resorts.
Waikiki is most famous for its beaches and every room is just two or three blocks away from the sea. With Leahi (Diamond Head) as your backdrop, the calm waters of Waikiki are perfect for a surfing lesson. In fact, legendary Hawaiian waterman Duke Kahanamoku grew up surfing the waves of Waikiki. This Olympic gold medalist in swimming actually taught visitors how to surf at the turn of the century and was later known as The father of modern surfing. Today, the Waikiki Beach Boys perpetuate Duke's legacy by teaching visitors how to surf and canoe and the Duke Kahanamoku Statue has become an iconic symbol of Waikiki.
But there's more to Waikiki than just the beach. Attractions of Waikiki like the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium offer fun for the whole family. You can learn about the history of Waikiki by reading the surfboard markers along the Waikiki Historical Trail. Among the various things to do, fantastic shopping and dining can be found all along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues and at gathering places like the Royal Hawaiian Center and the Waikiki Beach Walk. And the fun keeps going long after the Waikiki sunset with amazing nightlife and live music.
Best of all, Waikiki is within a half hour of a variety of Oahu attractions, including Pearl Harbor, Iolani Palace, the Nuuanu Pali Lookout and Hanauma Bay. Other notable points of interest nearby include Ala Moana Center, the local neighborhood of Kapahulu and the arts district of Chinatown.
From Hawaiian royalty to Hawaii Regional Cuisine, Waikiki continues to be an evolving expression of the ancient spirit of aloha. On these famous shores, the past and the future are uniting in fresh and surprising ways.

Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Big Island Hawaii, Beautiful Beach.
Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins
The Hawaiian spinner dolphin, unlike oceanic spinner dolphins, are found close to shore in shallow coves and bays during the day. In these important nearshore habitats, Hawaiian spinner dolphins rest, care for their young, avoid predators and engage in reproductive activities vital to their survival.
The spinner dolphin is named for its unique habit of leaping out of the water and spinning in mid-air. This species tends to travel in large herds of between 10 and 100+ animals.
Hawai‘i’s spinner dolphins feed at night in the open ocean. They feed on organisms that rise toward the surface at night, such as small squid, lantern fish and small hake.
Females reach sexual maturity at 5-12 years of age. Normally, adult females can give birth to a single calf every second or third year. Calves are weaned at 7 months of age or more. Although the maximum age is unknown, the spinner dolphin's lifespan is believed to be over 20 years.

360 in 60* of Kekaha Kai State Park north of the Kona airport on the Big Island of Hawaii. This beach is accessible by 2wd vehicles and is one of the best beaches on the Big Island. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Review - Kauai Tour
Tour with total confidence. There's simply no argument: Blue Hawaiian is Hawaii's #1 helicopter tour company. Blue Hawaiian's aircraft maintenance technicians have received the FAA's coveted Certificate of Excellence, Diamond Award every year since 1998. No other helicopter tour company in Hawaii has ever received this critical recognition. Blue Hawaiian was honored by the FAA for a record 12th straight year in January, 2009, at a ceremony in Honolulu, and the FAA further honored Blue Hawaiian with the very first Certificate of Excellence, Platinum Award. And Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii certified by the Department of Defense.

Absolutely worth every penny. Emery was a great pilot and tour guide. Can't wait for our next visit to do another part of the islands
I am continually impressed with the professionalism of Blue Hawaiian. Your operations set the standard for helicopter tours for safety and precision. Well done.
Erik and the staff were fantastic and the tour was AMAZING!!! Extraordinary way to see the island. I highly recommend it. I wanted to go right back up.
Welcome to the Blue Skies of Hawaii. Blue is the only helicopter tour company serving all four major Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. That means wherever you go in the Islands of Aloha, you know exactly how to get the world's finest aerial tours: just remember the color of the sky.
We don't just operate the best equipment, we help develop it. From the ultra-quiet, spacious, and powerful 21st-century Eco-Star helicopter to the breakthrough Garmin G500H technology, which gives our pilots astonishing three-dimensional synthetic vision terrain awareness in less than optimal weather; from our pioneering of multi-camera in-flight video, to designing vastly improved cockpit air-conditioning—Blue Hawaiian is always at the forefront of leading-edge innovations for your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Because when it comes to our guests, good enough is never enough.
The finest pilots in the sky. Blue Hawaiian prides itself on hand-picking only the finest and most experienced pilots—the absolute cream of the profession—and every one of them is a State of Hawaii Certified Tour Guide. Blue Hawaiian is also the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii with its own state-of-the-art Flight Simulator, and the only one that puts its pilots through annual factory and FAA recurrent training.
You'll be a star, or at least fly like one. When you choose Blue, you're choosing Hollywood's first-call helicopter tour company for blockbuster aerial photography. In addition to the upcoming mega-releases Battleship and Pirates of the Caribbean IV, our pilots have flown aerial photography for Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Tropic Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean III, Crimson Tide, George of the Jungle, Honeymoon in Vegas, and numerous other major motion pictures, not to mention television shoots for MTV, The Food Channel, National Geographic, the Weather Channel, Wheel of Fortune and more. If these top professionals trust Blue Hawaiian with their multi-million dollar productions, perhaps Hollywood knows something you should know?
Living Aloha, every day. All of us in Hawaii have a responsibility to uphold the islands' proud tradition of hospitality. Years ago, the late cultural pioneer George Kanahele (author of Ku Kanaka: Stand Tall) showed us the incredible potential of using our helicopters as flying classrooms. We took that mission very seriously and since then have invested in Hawaiiana education for all of our employees. Our pilots offer our guests insightful and accurate information about Hawaiian culture, flora and fauna, history, geology and place names. Our guests are able to ask their pilot questions through our proprietary two-way in-flight communication system, which enhances their involvement, and when they share their knowledge with their friends and family upon returning home, the outreach extends. It's an honor to do our part to help preserve Hawaii's precious native culture.
You don't have to take our word for it. Only Blue gives you the confidence of consistent and repeated endorsements and awards from the most important international, national, and local organizations in the travel industry: National Geographic Magazine, Frommer's Hawaii, The Travel Channel; the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, the Tour Operators Program of Safety, Helicopters Association International, and more. Blue Hawaiian is also the local Hawaii favorite, regularly voted the #1 Air Tour by the local readers of Hawaii Tribune-Herald, West Hawaii Today, North Hawaii News, Kauai People and MidWeek Kauai, and The Maui News.
