Klondike Alaska: A Rail History
For most people, railroads in Alaska and the Yukon are synonymous with the Alaska Railroad and the White Pass and Yukon Railroad whose passenger cars provide tourists with vistas of awe-inspiring terrain. That same terrain provided enormous challenges for early settlers of both territories. Railroads were an integral part of overcoming those challenges. Dozens of other railroads also laid track in Alaska, the Yukon, and northwest British Columbia and provided the means to transport supplies to settlements and to transport the region’s raw materials to outside markets. Klondike Alaska charts the history of many of those railroads. ©KUAC 2005

Anchorage Police Department THE CARROLL GLACIER - CARROLL TRUST FBI Los Angeles Biggest Fraud Case
BRITISH CONSULATE-GENERAL ANCHORAGE - OFCOM DSMA-NOTICE NEWS BLACKOUT:
MAINSTREAM NEWS MEDIA EXTRACTS: I
The sensational Carroll Anglo-American Corporation Trust and parallel Gerald 6th Duke of Sutherland Trust multi-billion dollar corporate identity theft offshore tax fraud bribery case which is encircling the US Attorney General is understood to have “named” the former NYPD New York Police Department Commissioner William J. Bratton surrounding major criminal allegations in this case of international importance.
Sources have disclosed that the former NYPD Commissioner William J. Bratton served two terms which is “closely linked” to his parallel former position as the Chairman of Kroll Associates. This source also said that Kroll Associates and the corporate spin-off firm Zolfo Cooper are known to be also confronting serious criminal allegations in this case spanning three continents.
Well seasoned political observers in Washington DC and London have recently remarked that the Gerald Carroll Trusts debacle has firmly highlighted the serious level of white collar organized crime penetration within the intergovernmental “cross-border” law enforcement agencies charged with the prosecution of criminal bankers accountants and lawyers who pose a “real direct threat” to the economic national security interests of the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
Further sources have confirmed that the FBI Scotland Yard “cross-border” criminal prosecution files contain a voluminous bundle of compelling forensic evidential material which surrounds the Kroll Associates and Zolfo Cooper systematic obstruction and bribery offenses which are “directly linked” to the fraudulent incorporation of a Dentons and Withersworldwide law firms shadow “criminal parallel trust” which embezzled two hundred and fifty million dollars of the Carroll Foundation Trust huge treasury investment holdings that were held at the Queen’s bankers Coutts & Co and Barclays International.
In a stunning twist it has also emerged that following retirement William J. Bratton was invited by the former British Prime Minister David Cameron to assume the role as the Scotland Yard Commissioner which would have effectively been yet another British Government bungled attempt to neutralize the threat of arrest and prosecution for a startling array of high profile figures along with members of the David Cameron family in this major public interest case.
The Carroll Foundation Trust files are held within a complete lockdown at the FBI Washington DC field office under the “joint supervision” of the FBI Director Christopher Wray and the Scotland Yard Commissioner Cressida Dick QPM who are known to have an intimate knowledge of this case which stretches the globe.
MAINSTREAM NEWS MEDIA EXTRACTS: II
The sensational Carroll Anglo-American Corporation Trust and parallel Gerald 6th Duke of Sutherland Trust multi-billion dollar corporate identity theft case has revealed that one of the world’s most richest individuals of the 20th century — the oil magnate J. Paul Getty estate has been named in this case of international importance.
Sources have confirmed that the George 5th Duke of Sutherland Sutton Place Guildford Surrey estate was acquired by Paul Getty in the late 1950’s and the substantial funds flowing from the sale formed what has been termed as the Gerald 6th Duke of Sutherland Trust Gerald J. H. Carroll “life tenant” worldwide interests.
Further sources have revealed that the Paul Getty bankers Chemical Bank of New York now known as JPMorgan Chase & Co handled the purchase of Sutton Place for the Getty family and the George 5th Duke of Sutherland family legal advisers were Taylor Wessing.
This source also said that Sir Winston S. Churchill along with HRH Prince Edward Duke of Windsor “in concert” with the Withersworldwide law firm the Lloyds Banking Group and the Sir Victor Sassoon banking interests incorporated the Gerald 6th Duke of Sutherland Trust for the benefit of Gerald J. H. Carroll who at birth was the subject of a fraudulent name-switch which has consequently now brought about the largest ever corporate identity theft liquidation case in history.
In a stunning twist it has emerged that the Gerald 6th Duke of Sutherland Trust interests underpinned the parallel Carroll Foundation Trust multi-billion dollar empire built by Gerald J. H. Carroll during the earlier part of his business life.
It is public knowledge that the Carroll Foundation Trust has been the victim of a systematic trans-national break-up and criminal liquidation operation which is regarded by many as a bungled attempt to effectively “airbrush out” the very existence of the two trusts and consequently perfect the crime currently embroiling senior members of the British Royal Family a startling array of City of London banking institutions and countless professional firms spanning three continents.

Order now:
Michael Portillo journeys through the stunning wilderness of the 49th US state on its most extreme railroads, before crossing the border into Canada, the world's second largest country, to explore its lakes and mountains, visit its cities and ride its most scenic and spectacular railroads.
Michael heads first for the Last Frontier of the United States armed with his 1899 Appleton's Guidebook to Alaska. He boards the Alaska Railroad to travel past lakes and glaciers and through mountain tunnels, admiring the magnificent landscape and glimpsing the wildlife of the region, while learning what it took to build this epic 470-mile line. Along the way, Michael joins the US Arctic Warriors for parachute training, gets a taste of the pioneering spirit and explores the art of the First Nations – helping to carve a totem pole before shaking his tail feathers in a grouse dance.
Switching to his 1899 edition of Appleton's Canadian Guidebook, Michael crosses the border into Canada and rides the spectacular transcontinental railway, explores Canada's Atlantic maritime provinces and makes a 1,000-mile journey across the vast Canadian Prairie. During his travels he meets modern day Canadians descended from immigrants and fur traders, indigenous groups and people of the Métis nation. He encounters beaver and bear, rides with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, joins the lumberjacks of British Columbia to corral logs downriver and attempts to play Canada's national sport, ice hockey. Tomato wine, Saskatoon Berry Pie, Acadian oysters and Nova Scotia lobster are among the delicacies that sustain him on his journey.

SUMMARY

Alaska ( ( listen); Aleut: Alax̂sxax̂; Inupiaq: Alaskaq; Russian: Аляска, translit. Alyaska) is a U.S. state in the northwest extremity of North America. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east, its most extreme western part is Attu Island, and it has a maritime border with Russia (Chukotka Autonomous Okrug) to the west across the Bering Strait. To the north are the Chukchi and Beaufort seas—the southern parts of the Arctic Ocean. The Pacific Ocean lies to the south and southwest. It is the largest state in the United States by area and the
seventh largest subnational division in the world. In addition, it is the 3rd least populous and the most sparsely populated of the 50 United States; nevertheless, it is by far the most populous territory located mostly north of the 60th parallel in North America: its population—estimated at 738,432 by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2015— is more than quadruple the combined populations of Northern Canada and Greenland. Approximately half of Alaska's residents live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska's economy is dominated by the fishing, natural gas, and oil industries, resources which it has in abundance. Military bases and tourism are also a significant part of the economy.
The United States purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867, for 7.2 million U.S. dollars at approximately two cents per acre ($4.74/km2). The area went through several administrative changes before becoming organized as a territory on May 11, 1912. It was admitted as the 49th state of the U.S. on January 3, 1959.

Tracking Pacific Walrus: Expedition to the Shrinking Chukchi Sea Ice
Summer ice retreat in the Chukchi Sea between Alaska and Russia is a significant climate change impact affecting Pacific Walruses, which are being considered for listing as a threatened species. This twelve minute video follows walruses in their summer sea ice habitat and shows how USGS biologists use satellite radio tags to track their movements and behavior. The information identifies areas of special importance to walruses during sparse summer sea ice and as human presence increases in the region from oil drilling and activities such as shipping and tourism now possible with less ice.
