First 3 days in SF were my solo days!

Golden Gate Bridge - Castro - Mission Murals
ROAD TRIP BEGINS
HIGHWAY 1: Santa Cruz - Pacific Grove Beach - 17 mile drive - Pebble Beach - Carmel - Monterey (Stayed overnight)

Santa Barbara - Bubblegum wall (Stayed overnight)
Drive down to LA (4D 3N)

Peter left us at LA while we continued on our road trip to explore the national parks with Edmund! (LV, AZ, UT) Which will be posted another time!
Ultimate USA West Coast Road Trip
In May 2014 we spent beautiful 17 days driving and exploring the Western part of United States. It was a road trip to remember and can't wait to do it again. During the road trip we visited four states - California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah - and drove 2866 miles (4612km).
Landed in Los Angeles, rented a Ford Mustang and first checked out Hollywood Boulevard, Chinese theatre, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Griffith observatory, Getty Center and Downtown LA with City Hall, Union station and Walt Disney Concert hall.
After visiting Santa Monica, Venice beach Boardwalk and Malibu beach we took one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world – Pacific Highway 1 from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Plan enough time for this drive as you will want to stop every few miles to take photos as the views are insane (McWay Falls, Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur, Point Lobos, etc.). Monterey’s aquarium is on the way and is a must visit, while Capitola and Santa Cruz are one of the best surfing places on earth.
After a quick stop in Silicon Valley (Apple, Google, Yahoo, etc.) it was time for the coolest cities in the world - San Francisco. We drove down the Lombard street, took the cable car, had fun at Pier 39, visited Alcatraz and enjoyed the city and other landmarks like Golden Gate, Twin Peaks, Mission District, Haight-Ashbury, Alamo Square, Hawk Hill and many others places.
Next on the list was Yosemite national park, which is another big must on the list. Why? Because it is one of the most beautiful places in the world! Driving to the Glacier point where you can admire El Capitan, Yosemite falls, Half dome, Nevada falls, hiking and exploring the park’s landmarks like Mirror lake, Bridalveil falls and staying at Curry village was truly an unforgettable experience.
After Yosemite, we headed over the Tioga pass to Mammoth and straight to the Dead Valley with all its greatness. The Badwater basin, Darwin falls, Mosaic canyon, Devil’s golf course, Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Artists Palette, Zabriskie Point, Dante’s view and endless roads which took us pass Las Vegas to the Hover Dam.
Coming on a Route 66 and stopping at Rusty Bold in Seligman the route took us to Bearizona Wildlife Park in Williams and then further on to the Grand Canyon where we stopped at Mather point, Desert view and Lipan point.
Driving further north is Page where we saw Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell and spend some time with the Indians in the amazing Antelope canyon.
True Wild West experience is driving through the Monument valley with is endless roads and cluster of vast sandstone buttes. On the way there are interesting stops like Mexican Hat, Gooseneck state park, Muley Point and Moki Dugway.
Next was Moab and the Arches national park with attractions like Balanced rock, Delicate arch and Windows. But for sure, one of the most unforgettable experience was a 4-hour guided trip with the RZR cars in Moab desert. That was really awesome!!!
After driving through Torrey we found another beautiful road - Scenic Byway 12 - which brought us to Bryce Canyon with its Inspiration point, Peek-A-Boo Loop & Navajo/Queens Garden Loop and other breath-taking sights. Next national park was Zion with Kolob Canyons viewpoint and Lake Mead Scenic drive. Both national parks are amazing and huge, so you can easily spend a week or two.
Las Vegas with its 24/7 entertainment was the final stop before we returned our Mustang, departed back home and started planning our next trip…

Best Version Online!! Soarin' Over California with Soundtrack (1080p) at California Adventure
This is the original video of the attraction, known as Soarin' Over California, from 2001 until 2016. RIP. The new version of the ride called Soarin' Around the World started on June 17, 2016.
This initial version took guests over several locations in California, and included a pre-show tribute to the history of California's aviation industry. Due to its consistent popularity, Soarin' Over California was duplicated at Epcot in Walt Disney World as Soarin' in 2005.
Epcots Soarin' over California is a multi-sensory attraction for big kids, teens and adults at both the Disney California Adventure in California and Epcot theme parks in Florida. This was filmed at Epcot which is part of Walt Disney World in Orlando.
The attraction simulates a peaceful hang-gliding flight over the Golden State of California.
Here is the description from Disneyworld website:
Fasten your seat belt on the multi-passenger glider and be lifted 40 feet into the air. Swoop up and soar towards the clouds and spectacular California panoramas. An IMAX projection dome wraps 180 degrees around you, so you're engulfed by the impressive scenery.
Special cameras on airplanes and helicopters captured many of the shots and the glider moves the same way the aircraft did, so you really feel like you're flying as you glide over such awe-inspiring vistas and landmarks as :
•San Francisco
•Golden Gate Bridge
•Redwood Creek
•Napa Valley
•Monterey
•Lake Tahoe
•Yosemite National Park
•Camarillo
•Anaza-Borrego Desert State Park
•San Diego
•Malibu
•Los Angeles
Get a bird's-eye view over a PGA West golf tournament, a skiing and snowboarding exhibition, and float above cowboys on horseback as they race through the wilderness.
Feel the wind in your hair. The air fills with the scent of orange groves, evergreens and the sea breeze. Your feet dangle free. Dip down so close to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, you think your toes will get wet. Then return to the sky and continue on Soarin' to a fantastic finale where fireworks burst into sensational colors around you.
The ride uses the music by Jerry Goldsmith available from the album Music from Disney California Adventure or recent Walt Disney World official albums.
I recorded this video while on the ride on November 12, 2010 holding my Canon HV30. I added the original soundtrack later.

Carmel Mission Foundation - Mission Restoration
The Carmel Mission Foundation, Inc. is an independent non-profit organization formed to fund the restoration and preservation of the historic properties, art, and artifacts of the Carmel Mission. Deterioration due to age, structural integrity, and infrastructure needs to be addressed on the various historic buildings in the Mission's complex. This is a multi-year/multi-million dollar project.
The Carmel Mission (Mission San Carlos Borroméo del Rio Carmelo) was established in 1771 by Junípero Serra, and is both a State and National Historic Landmark. It was the headquarters for the California mission system, consisting of 21 missions, and the foundation for the State of California. Under Junípero Serra's leadership, the missions introduced industries, trades and services; agriculture, including viticulture and livestock; international trade; and the gift of literacy.
In June of 2013, Phase I, of the Carmel Mission complex restoration was completed. This consisted of the $5.5 million restoration of the 220-year-old Basilica, which included the seismic strengthening of its walls and roof; exterior repairs to the walls, buttresses, towers, and dome; new electrical and fire suppression systems; new interior lighting; heating system upgrade; and a new restroom building.

Lyrics:
It's like this song was already written
Let’s sit back, relax and have a listen
Listen to the message
No time for second guessing
Life it is a blessing
Don’t focus on what's missing
When you're stressed out take a deep breath
I hope that you can see it
The world needs people like you
You're here to make a difference
Go on and make a change, step into the rain
And I believe in you and someday we will meet again
I'm a hundred million miles from where I thought I was
I'm starting to become the person that I knew I could
So here I am, here I stand
I'm becoming a better man
The man upstairs has his plan, so understand it’s all written
It is alright
I got to make it alright
It's so easy, easy
It's gonna be alright, alright
It's so easy, easy
You’ve got to make it alright
Said I got to make it alright
So your soul it has awoken
Singing the songs and the words that have been spoken
Put your mind at ease with this melody
Love don't cost you nothing, so set your loving free
So your world it has been shaken
Your heart it has been breaking
Ask what more can I do
But the answer's deep inside you
So look and you shall find
Leave the past behind
Have a little faith, everything will be just fine
When I look up to the sky I see no broken dreams
I see an angel in the sky who's smiling down on me
She says hello, even though I might find myself alone
She gives me love, gives me hope
When I'm lost she takes me home
It's alright
Said I got to make it alright
It's so easy, easy
It's gonna be alright, alright
It's so easy, easy
It's gonna be alright
You've got to make it alright
Take it, take it easy
Come on baby take it easy
Come on take it easy
Come on baby take it easy, yeah
Everything will be just fine
