Tahoe South Community Brand Video
Who or what is Tahoe South? Tahoe South is as much a concept as a location. The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority’s brand embodies an active, quirky, fun, young at heart lifestyle, and the “Tahoe South” logo and campaign includes elements that evoke the connection between the consumer and South Shore to inspire overnight visits. A video about the brand launched at the Tahoe Chamber Blue Ribbon Awards, Nov. 10.
The Tahoe South brand is a combination of all the attractions, amenities, vibe and energy available in the South Lake Tahoe and Stateline areas. It’s all inclusive from Zephyr Cove to Meyers and out to Emerald Bay.
“We use the Tahoe South brand to pinpoint our unique area that spans across two states that together has earned accolades from numerous national media outlets as the country’s top tourism destinations,” said Carol Chaplin, president and CEO of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. “We encourage our partners, stakeholders and community members to utilize the video as a resource, provide to staff/employees, and to share across social media channels.”
The LTVA contracted with local videographer, Anthony Cupaiuolo of First Tracks Productions, to produce the segment and capture the essence and inimitability of the bi-state area that attracts millions of guests each year. Spanning from Meyers to Zephyr Cove, the video features energetic enthusiasm from key stakeholders, local business owners, families and Olympians Jamie Anderson and Hannah Teter as they share personal insights on the magnetism of the region. The Tahoe South brand is consumer oriented to leverage the LTVA’s advertising campaign to inspire target audiences to make an immediate and memorable connection that leads to action.
The LTVA’s mission is to market the South Shore of Lake Tahoe as a unique, world-class, year-round destination to the regional, national and international marketplace, and to favorably impact the South Shore economy through overnight stays and tourism spending. Through a strategic marketing plan LTVA utilizes advertising, online, special events, public relations, social media, trade shows, partnerships and visitor centers to position the destination as one that combines scenic beauty with myriad of outdoor recreation, upscale resort amenities, dining, headliner entertainment, nightlife and gaming.

Leave the regular world behind when you step into the fog-swathed “City by the Bay.” From shopping adventures in Union Square to a trip on the city’s legendary cable cars, a #vacation to #SanFrancisco is bound to leave you with incredible memories.
#Visit Fisherman’s Wharf and indulge in its shops and galleries, as well as some of the best fresh seafood you’ll ever taste. Walk on the Golden Gate Bridge and take in the fresh sea air and views of the bay and Pacific Ocean. If it’s a more serene environment you’re after, pass through the stately architecture and flowing lagoon of the Palace of Fine Arts.
Of course, San Francisco #sightseeing isn’t complete without an excursion to Alcatraz, the island prison that once held some of the country’s most notorious criminals. Look into its empty cells and thick stone walls and wonder, could you escape “The Rock”?
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Nevada
Nevada is a state in the western, mountain west, and southwestern regions of the United States. Nevada is the 7th most extensive, the 35th most populous, and the 9th least densely populated of the 50 United States. Nearly three-quarters of Nevada's people live in Clark County, which contains the Las Vegas–Paradise metropolitan area where the state's three largest incorporated cities are located. Nevada's capital is Carson City. Nevada is officially known as the Silver State due to the importance of silver to its history and economy. It is also known as the Battle Born State, because it achieved statehood during the Civil War; Sagebrush State, for the native eponymous plant; and Sage hen State.
Nevada is largely desert and semiarid, with much of it located within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are located within the Mojave Desert, while Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada lie on the western edge. Approximately 86% of the state's land is managed by various jurisdictions of the U.S. federal government, both civilian and military.

Hoover Dam Visitor Center with Pan Views of Towers Cars and Traffic Moving along Roadway on Dam Top
Hoover Dam Visitor Center with Pan Views of Towers Cars and Traffic Moving along the Roadway on top of Dam - - The Wikipedia has detailed information about the planning, design, and construction of this iconic structure and major tourist attraction near Las Vegas -- Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the US states of Arizona and Nevada. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was controversially named after President Herbert Hoover. Since about 1900, the Black Canyon and nearby Boulder Canyon had been investigated for their potential to support a dam that would control floods, provide irrigation water and produce hydroelectric power. In 1928, Congress authorized the project. The winning bid to build the dam was submitted by a consortium called Six Companies, Inc., which began construction on the dam in early 1931. Such a large concrete structure had never been built before, and some of the techniques were unproven. The torrid summer weather and the lack of facilities near the site also presented difficulties. Nevertheless, Six Companies turned over the dam to the federal government on March 1, 1936, more than two years ahead of schedule. Hoover Dam impounds Lake Mead, and is located near Boulder City, Nevada, a municipality originally constructed for workers on the construction project, about 25 mi (40 km) southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. The dam's generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona, and California. Hoover Dam is a major tourist attraction; nearly a million people tour the dam each year. Heavily travelled U.S. 93 ran along the dam's crest until October 2010, when the Hoover Dam Bypass opened. The link to the relevant Wikipedia article is on --

A Force of Nature -- Hebgen Lake Earthquake
2001. On August 17, 1959, one of nature's most powerful forces was unleashed in the Madison Canyon, just outside the border of Yellowstone National Park. The canyon was packed with people, cars, tents, and trailers. At just before midnight a massive earthquake shook the canyon and in a few seconds, changed the land and the people forever. The Madison River Canyon Earthquake area provides a vivid reminder of how the landscape and the people were suddenly changed on that August night. This video tells the story of the Hebgen Lake Earthquake.

Furnace Creek Airport, Death Valley, CA
Furnace Creek Airport (L06) is the lowest airport on the continent, at 210 feet below sea level. There is no instrument approach available for this airport, but the visual (VFR) approach is complicated by the height of the surrounding terrain, the proximity of the valley walls, and the difficulty in discerning the runway from the surrounding environs. In addition, there is little help available in the case of an emergency, and weather conditions can be extreme, with temperatures approaching 120 degrees in the summer. There are no services available, such as fuel, repairs, etc.
