Lompoc, California is dubbed The City of Arts and Flowers and is also becoming known for its local wines after the movie Sideways was filmed in Lompoc (bowling alley scene) and east of Lompoc in the Santa Ynez Valley Solvang and Buellton. In 2010 Playboy magazine named Jasper's a local Lompoc bar as one of the top 10 dive bars in the country. Lompoc is also known as The Mural City for its painted buildings.

I have been in the public eye for 44 years or ever since I started playing baseball for: VILLAGE HILLS LITTLE LEAGUE at 8 years old. I was an ALL-STAR Pitcher from: 11 years old until I was 18 years old. During this period of time, I was M.V.P. of Cabrillo High School's Freshman Baseball team and was brought up to the Varsity team as a 14 year old Sophomore, the youngest player to ever be on a great Varsity team. Not only did I make the team, I was ALL-LEAGUE. My Junior year I would pitch: the greatest game of my life, a 1-0, one hit shutout against cross town rival at Lompoc: THE 1976 NORTHERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, pictured here on my YOUTUBE site. I would be voted: M.V.P. and MOST VALUABLE PITCHER on a team that saw 3 members drafted to turn pro. Once again, I was: ALL-LEAGUE and would be my Senior year, as well. I played 3 years for Lompoc Senior Babe Ruth All-Stars and the teams came one game from: THE WORLD'S SERIES all 3 years or the finals of Regionals. My 18 year old Senior Babe Ruth team had to beat a great Southern Cal. team twice to advance. I pitched a night game and went 7 innings and we won and then after one of our pitchers gave up a grand slam, in the second game I was asked if I had anything left and I did, so I went in and faced the same batter who homered earlier and struck him out and the side. I finished the game giving up no more runs, but we lost anyway. So, I pitched 10 scoreless innings against a team that would eventually make: THE WORLD'S SERIES. I have been the Alumni Coach for: THE ANNUAL PAT OSTINI MEMORIAL CLASSIC the past 15 years or so and in my last at bat at 45 years old, I did the Babe Ruth point to center and missed a home run by inches. I was also ALL-STATE at 3rd base and mentioned in: SLO-PITCH Magazine (1979). After my baseball career ended, I went to my second talent, music and have been a professional entertainer myself since 1994. I started my first: KARAOKE SHOWCASE at: THE ANNUAL LOMPOC FLOWER FESTIVAL in 1997 and it had a great run of 17 years opening THE FLOWER FESTIVAL'!. I am also on the entertainment committee, the past 9 years and do my best to promote, not only the festivals in Lompoc, Ca. nationally and globally to the public, but many positive community events, as well. I am an Ambassador (unofficial) for my hometown and do my best to promote our talent all over the world through Facebook and this Channel.

Missle launch, ufo, or strange phenomenon? Overton, Nevada 1/16/97
I shot this video January 16th, 1997.
I was at the Overton, Nevada Lost City Museum . The first part of the clip are petroglyphs that were included in the museum. Upon leaving and heading south enroute to Las Vegas, myself, a relative and a friend noticed a strange phenomenon in the sky. Luckily, I had my vhs camcorder with me and we immediately pulled over.
What we had witnessed as evidenced by this video was a strange colorful corkscrew in the sky with an object ascending from it and vanishing at 1:12.
This was at dusk, and for a period of a few hours following, a strange mass of colors that included, blue, green, red and yellow hues stayed illuminated within the atmosphere.
A local Las Vegas newspaper reported in their Jan. 17th edition that the phenomenon was Vapors from a redesigned Minuteman II missle. It was Launched at 5:17pm from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California. It was not carrying dangerous chemicals or explosives. Lompoc is 7 hours, 463 miles west of Overton.
I present this video to you to leave to your own interpretation. If it was in fact a missle, then I ask what chemicals that supposedly aren't harmful, can stay illuminated in the sky in darkness. I would not want to breathe any of this in. Also, I am curious as to where the missle had come down and also why the public isn't informed as to when these tests occur if the result is this spectacle. Seeing this in the sky caused a traffic jam on I-15.
I changed the natural audio from the video as to the astonishment and vulgarities that we expressed witnessing this. Also, excuse the shaky camera work, I was excited. You can simply pause any frame for a better look, especially at 6:28 to get a perspective of the size of it in the sky against the buildings. Also as it got darker we started driving and I began to record again from the car. It was an awesome sight.

Barstow’s Western America Railroad Museum
I you are interested in trains than I have a very interesting museum for you.
I recently visited Western America Railroad museum and I wasn’t expecting to much.
I got out of there with utter amazement.
The railroad museum is located in Barstow in the old Historic Harvey House.
On our trip to see the whole Route 66 on our luxurious Lexus we purchased with the assistance of a guide that was recommended to me by a friend.
We looked at what all of the fuse was in traveling this path.
As I drove in comfort I just was extremely thankful for the ideal to get on the internet go to and download the guide that gave me the ability to drive in an affordable car that I have been dreaming of getting for a very long time.
There are many different museums that you could go to on the way to the Railroad Museum, we just decided that the whole family would have lots of fun if we visited the railroad museum first.
We basically finished looking at the whole museum in about two hours.
I thought that was a healthy amount of time to be in a museum.
The museum is laced with old trains that you could explore and pretend you are one of the conductors.
If railroading is your passion, than this is the place where you need to be.
You get to see all of the trains inside and out and you get to learn wonderful history lessons from each train car you go to.I think the best part of it all was that the museum was free.
Yes, people I am a bit cheap.
They do ask for donations, but of course it is not mandatory.
Go ahead and have the time of your life.

NASA INSIGHT Mission to Mars - Launch Details - Locations and Times for Viewing - Lompoc California
Lompoc, California is the place to be for the much anticipated NASA launch of the InSight on its Mission to Mars. The launch is slated for May 5 at 4 am* from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Space Launch Complex-3 on an Atlas V-401. This will be the first planetary spacecraft to launch from this west coast launch facility.
“We are looking forward to supporting the first interplanetary launch from Vandenberg this May,” said Col. Michael Hough, 30th Space Wing Commander. “The InSight Mission to Mars is the first lander to explore the interior and subsurface of that planet and we are working with the entire team of NASA, ULA and JPL to ensure this launch is safe and successful.”
The official public viewing location for the launch is at Lompoc Airport, 1801 N H Street, Lompoc, starting at 2:30 am. Visitors will be able to see the launch, watch NASA TV commentary from the tarmac, and meet NASA/InSight mission team members and city representatives. Several Lompoc hotels are located less than a mile from Lompoc Airport for fast, pre-dawn access to the public viewing location. A second public viewing location is at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 2800 Harris Grade Road, Lompoc, where visitors are welcome to see the launch from the church parking lot, and interact with NASA/InSight mission team members in attendance, starting at 3:00 am. About NASA’s Insight Mission
InSight - The Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport spacecraft - will be the first mission to look deep beneath the Martian surface, studying the planet's interior by measuring its heat output and listening for marsquakes. It will use the seismic waves generated by marsquakes to develop a map of the planet’s deep interior. The resulting insight into Mars’ formation will help us better understand how other rocky planets, including Earth, were and are created.
The spacecraft will launch aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 401 rocket lifting off from Space Launch Complex-3 at Vandenberg, making it also the first planetary mission to take off from the West Coast.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, manages the InSight mission for the agency’s Science Mission Directorate. InSight is part of NASA's Discovery Program, managed by its Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The spacecraft, including cruise stage and lander, was built and tested by Lockheed Martin Space in Denver. Several European partners, including France's space agency, the Centre National d'Étude Spatiales, and the German Aerospace Center, are supporting the mission. United Launch Alliance of Centennial, Colorado, is providing the Atlas V launch service. NASA’s Launch Services Program, based at its Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is responsible for launch management.
