A walk-through of Macondray Lane, San Francisco
Thanks for watching, to support my work:
A walk-through of the most scenic part of Macondray Lane on San Francisco's Russian Hill. Macondray Lane is one of the locations that inspired Armistead Maupin's 'Barbary Lane' in his Tales of the City book series.
This short walk-through takes in Macondray Lane from Jones to Taylor Street. You can see the steep wooden steps, the gardens tended by the residents and stone statues and hear the wind chimes.

Oat & a Boat (ep. 84): The Real Life Barbary Lane (Macondray Lane)
Macondray Lane is best known as the inspiration for Barbary Lane, the fictional Russian Hill street of Armistead Maupin‘s Tales of the City series. In 1976, Maupin’s story began as a daily serial in the San Francisco Chronicle, relating the adventures of an eclectic group of residents at 28 Barbary Lane. When it was published as a book in 1978, Tales was an immediate best-seller. Maupin followed a community of friends through several volumes of books.

Eric B’s Daily Vlogs #421 - Grand View Park Stairs in San Francisco
Day 5 of stairs week as come to an end. The last and final stairs has the most magnificent view.
Grand View Park, also referred to as Turtle Hill by local residents, is a small, elevated park in the Sunset District,San Francisco, California.[2] It is surrounded by 14th and 15th Avenues, as well as Noriega Street.
Despite its small size, 3.98 acres (1.61 ha) or about the size of a city block, the park is important geologically andbotanically and offers views of downtown San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, to the Pacific Ocean, the Marinheadlands, and across to the Sutro Tower.
The summit of Turtle Hill rises to about 666 feet (203 m).[3] It is an outcrop of chert, which is part of the heterogeneous assemblage known as the Franciscan Formation, or Franciscan Assemblage, the primary geologic feature on which the city of San Francisco is founded, here covered with a thin layer of sand. It provides one of the last remaining habitats within the city for a number of native plants, including the endangered Franciscan wallflowerand dune tansy, and also bush lupin, beach strawberry, bush monkey flower, and coyote bush. The hill is crowned with Monterey cypress trees.

A walk through Pier 39 in San Francisco.
Pier 39 is a shopping center and popular tourist attraction built on a pier in San Francisco, California. At Pier 39, there are shops, restaurants, a video arcade, street performances, an interpretive center for the Marine Mammal Center, the Aquarium of the Bay, virtual 3D rides, and views of California sea lions hauled out on docks on Pier 39's marina. The marina is also home to the floating Forbes Island restaurant. A two-story carousel is one of the pier's more dominant features, although it is not directly visible from the street and sits towards the end of the pier. The family-oriented entertainment and presence of marine mammals make this a popular tourist location for families with kids.
Old Port Gate
The pier is located at the edge of the Fisherman's Wharf district and is close to North Beach, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero. The area is easily accessible via the historic F Market streetcars.
From the pier one can see Angel Island, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Bay Bridge. Blue & Gold Fleet's bay cruises leave from Pier 39.
