Fishing Long beach and Marina Del Rey
Went out to fish at Cherry Beach in Long Beach for a quick surf sesh and afterwards made it down to Marina Del Rey. Haven't fished MDR in a long time but I'm sure happy I did go because that spotted bay bass was worth the drive.
Environment watch: USA California Marina Del Rey's Horror Show (05/19/2014)
It's like a horror show, really! That's what Kerma Boyum-Sarmiento said after watching a pelican die right by her apartment complex. But, to Shay Yuval, the horror show is watching a number of pelicans and other critters die or show signs of serious sickness in the last couple of weeks in the rocks by Via Marina and Pacific. To the two MDR women what's happening is very suspicious.

Playful Dolphins just outside Marina Del Rey California
Playful Dolphins just outside Marina Del Rey California USA.
Dolphins are well known for their agility and playful behavior, making them a favorite of wildlife watchers. Many species will leap out of the water, spy-hop (rise vertically out of the water to view their surroundings) and follow ships, often synchronizing their movements with one another. Scientists believe that dolphins conserve energy by swimming alongside ships, a practice known as bow-riding.
Dolphins live in social groups of five to several hundred. They use echolocation to find prey and often hunt together by surrounding a school of fish, trapping them and taking turns swimming through the school and catching fish. Dolphins will also follow seabirds, other whales and fishing boats to feed opportunistically on the fish they scare up or discard.
Fishing for Halibut with a Dropshot at Goleta Beach
A wonderful day out at Goleta Beach where I saw lots of fish, but just couldn't get one onshore. I swear Halibut are camera shy. I hope you enjoy the iconic Goleta Beach and joining me for some of my fishing. Also, a bonus beer review.
