COSTA RICA Travel // Jungle Dream
This video shows highlights from our month long trip through Costa Rica in February/March. From the tropical beaches of the West and East, to the dense jungles of Chirripó, Arenal, and Monteverde. This trip truly was a jungle dream!
We collaborated with Nomad America and got one of their 4WD tent campers to travel around Costa Rica for a week. Wild camping is safe outside of the major tourist destinations, which allowed us to fully experience wild Costa Rica.
One tip: If you prefer lush green environments and secluded locations I would advise not to travel to the Nicoya Peninsula in March. At that time of the year (high season) the area is generally very dry and crowded with tourists.

Bocas del Toro Panama to Puerto Viejo Costa Rica | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
Want to know how to get from Bocas del Toro Panama, to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica? Follow along with us and we will show you just how easy it is to do!
Puerto Viejo is a beautiful, small town in southeastern Costa Rica. If you are looking for a perfect beach, where you can unwind and relax, sipping on an exotic cocktail and enjoying spicy Caribbean food, Puerto Viejo is definitely the place you should check out.
The average high temperature here is 27-28 C, while the average low is 22-23 C. However, you can expect humid weather at times because you’ll be surrounded by the rainforests, right next to the Carribean sea.
Probably the most popular tourist attraction in Puerto Viejo is the Jaguar Rescue Center. This amazing institution is the temporary or permanent home for injured, ill, and orphaned animals. They provide veterinary services with a focus on sloths, small primates, reptiles, birds, and amphibians.
Enjoy the video!!!

TRANSCRIPT
Good morning guys, today we're in Puerto Viejo exploring the beautiful Caribbean side of Costa Rica. I'm with Ernesto, the general manager of Caribe Fun Tours because today we're going to explore Cahuita National Park and go hiking through the area. So Ernesto can you just tell us a little bit about the tour that we're going to do today.
Yes, today you're going to go on a very exciting tour to the national park with our local guide Luis. You're going in probably about an hour and a half or so down to the main point of the park, you'll get some great shots of the beach from there, you'll get some great shots of some animals. Then after that you'll have a chance to have some local fruit, which will be prepared by your guide Luis. Then you'll head off to a waterfall and depending on the rain and water level, people can actually go swimming and refresh in there and also get some great photos of the waterfall.
OK so sounds like a fun day so let's go!
We’ve been walking for about thirty minutes, we’ve already seen a ton of wildlife, there’s actually a really nice path that goes along the beach through the national park so it’s really easy to walk
We’ve seen sloths, monkeys, iguanas so far, we should see quite a few more, it’s a really beautiful day, it’s really nice because it’s under the canopy so it’s nice and cool. This is a beautiful national park, definitely visit Cahuita when you’re in Puerto Viejo
We just finished the walk in Cahuita National Park, it was amazing and now we’re going to cool off at some of the waterfalls nearby
The tour ends here at the beautiful waterfall. We had a great time exploring Cahuita National Park we saw tons of cool wildlife. If you guys want to know more about this tour just click on the links below and thanks for watching

Top 3 Reasons to Visit the Jaguar Rescue Center in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica is the main tourist destination on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. And one of the top things to do in Puerto Viejo is to visit the Jaguar Rescue Center. Even though you will probably encounter a lot of Costa Rican wildlife while visiting the Talamanca region of Limón, the Jaguar Rescue Center is the best place to see sloths, monkeys, and other animals of Costa Rica that have been rescued and cared back to health. You will also learn a lot about these animals and how to help protect them. A great thing to do during your family vacation in Puerto Viejo.

More info from the Jaguar Rescue Center Website:
What is the Jaguar Rescue Center?
The Jaguar Rescue Center is a temporary or permanent home for ill, injured and orphaned animals. With a focus on birds, reptiles, amphibians and small primates, the JRC provides veterinary services, round-the-clock care and comfort to animals that would otherwise be unable to survive in the rainforest or the sea of the Caribbean.
Why Jaguar?
The Jaguar is the most hunted endangered animal in the Americas. It’s a symbol of nature that suffers from a great threat of extinction.
In 2007 a baby jaguar was given to Encar and Sandro. Her mother had been murdered because local farmers suspected she had killed two goats. The baby jaguar was dehydrated and very sick. Encar and Sandro did everything they could to save it but in the end, the endangered baby jaguar died. Encar and Sandro decided to name their animal rescue center in honor of her and the Jaguar Rescue Center was born.
The jaguar represents the spirit of the king of the jungle and her memory lives on in each animal they save. The spirit of that original baby jaguar lives on in every animal we rescue and our mission of Help Us Help Them continues in her honor.
The primary goal of the JRC is to rehabilitate animals and reintroduce them back into their native habitats. Monkeys, birds, sloths, snakes and more are brought to the JRC, and treated by professional veterinarians, caregivers and a hard-working team of staff and volunteers. Food is lovingly prepared, medication is administered, and all animals get personal contact with their caregivers. When they are healed and healthy, most animals are reintroduced to their native habitats to live out their lives in the land that is their home.
For some of the friends brought to the JRC, reintroduction isn’t possible due to the nature of their illness or injuries, and these animals find a permanent, loving home at the JRC, cared for by a team of staff and volunteers, living in habitats that mimic their lives outside the JRC.
In addition to the animal-care services, the JRC provides educational services to the residents and visitors of Costa Rica, as well as internship and research opportunities for biologists, veterinarians, and researchers from around the world.

Manzanillo Point - Costa Rica Adventure - Makai's World Family Travel
Manzanillo, Costa Rica is a beautiful town situated on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica just north of the Panamanian border. It is a very small town but also a very beautiful town that brings in visitors from all over the world to enjoy its amazing views, warm Caribbean waters, and delicious Caribbean food.
But how do you get there? Well, you could find someone with a boat or a seaplane to give you a ride (highly unlikely), you could hike through the jungle from Panama (ridiculously dangerous), or take the road from Puerto Viejo. We would suggest taking the road from Puerto Viejo because, well... it just makes sense for the average traveler and we will tell you the different ways of how to get to Manzanillo from Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.
*You can read more about how to get to Puerto Viejo from the Makai's World Travel Blog at:

Exploring Cahuita COSTA RICA | NATURE PARK and FOOD | TRAVEL VLOG
Today we discover the cute village of Cahuita Costa Rica, a short 15km's from Puerto Viejo. We take a couple of days to get to know the town, on day one we cycle there to get a first impression of the town and day 2 we spend the day exploring the amazing Nature park!
The small village of Cahuita packs a big punch given its small size, it is the gateway to a stunning nature park that meets a stunning white sandy coastline. The town is authentic and has some amazing beach side bars or local soda's if you want to eat.
While exploring Cahuita's Nature Park we caught a glimpse of some of Costa Rica's most majestic animals, critters and fauna. You can even snorkel off shore near the park on what is Costa Rica's largest stretch of Coral reef providing you have a guide.
We absolutely loved Cahuita and can't wait to head back! Enjoy our latest Costa Rica Travel Vlog!
