Marlin Stebbins Tour of the Lighthouse
Take a tour of the Point San Luis Lighthouse back in 1996. Marlin Stebbins was the caretaker of the Point San Luis Lighthouse from 1989 to 2010.
Marlin and his wife, Nina, raised their family in the caretaker cottage next to the lighthouse. Marlin's tour includes the lighthouse before it was renovated by the Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers, a non-profit which took over management of the site. It also includes a look at the Coast Guard duplex constructed in 1961, and the historic fog signal room from 1890. Marlin passed away on December 3, 2010.

Interview with Earl Farris at Point SLO Lighthouse
Around 1990, local Avila Beach resident Keith Kelsey interviewed Earl Farris out at Point San Luis. in the late 1930s Earl and his father, John Farris, assisted Robert Moorefield at Point San Luis with the construction of the radio tower that now sits on the hill above the station. Robert Moorefield was the last lighthouse keeper at Point SLO before the Coast Guard took over the station.

$42 per night dry camping RV overflow area (on top of the mountain)
there is a his and her shower, and laundry mat for RV's by the boat dock. Dogs are allowed on the beach
