What do the five original 78RPM Elvis Presley Sun Records, a set of KISS Dolls and a 12 string autographed guitar once owned by Johnny Cash have in common? They are all hanging on the walls at Legends Corner (a true Honky Tonk Row treasure) along with such memorabilia as first albums done by many of country music’s Legends. When you walk in the door of Legends Corner you are astounded by the number of albums on the wall and the unusual musical instruments from all over the world, like a didgeridoo from Australia, a balalaika from Russia or a pickin’ stick from Appalachia.

It was always Ryan Brown's dream to own a bar in Nashville, which is why closing Stirrup sports bar last week was the hardest decision he's ever had to make.

Broadway is major thoroughfare in Nashville, Tennessee. It includes Lower Broadway, a renowned entertainment district for country music.
Landmarks
Lower Broadway consists of Broadway between First and Fifth avenues. Its features include the Bridgestone Arena, the Nashville Convention Center and various honky tonk bars, including Robert's Western World and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.[2] The Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum are both within one block of this area. Lower Broadway is a particularly crowded place during the annual CMA Music Festival.
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and the county seat of Davidson County. The city is a center for the music, healthcare, publishing, banking and transportation industries, and is home to numerous colleges and universities. Reflecting the city's position in state government, Nashville is home to the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for Middle Tennessee. It is known as a center of the country music industry, earning it the nickname Music City U.S.A.
Tourism
Perhaps the biggest factor in drawing visitors to Nashville is its association with country music. Many visitors to Nashville attend live performances of the Grand Ole Opry, the world's longest running live radio show. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is another major attraction relating to the popularity of country music. The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, the Opry Mills regional shopping mall and the General Jackson showboat, are all located in what is known as Music Valley.
Nashville has several arts centers and museums, including the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art, the Tennessee State Museum, the Johnny Cash Museum, Fisk University's Van Vechten and Aaron Douglas Galleries, Vanderbilt University's Fine Art Gallery and Sarratt Gallery, and the full-scale replica of the Parthenon.
Economy
As the home of country music, Nashville has become a major music recording and production center. All of the Big Four record labels, as well as numerous independent labels, have offices in Nashville, mostly in the Music Row area.[44] Nashville has been home to the headquarters of guitar company Gibson since 1984. Since the 1960s, Nashville has been the second-largest music production center (after New York) in the U.S.[45] As of 2006, Nashville's music industry is estimated to have a total economic impact of $6.4 billion per year and to contribute 19,000 jobs to the Nashville area.[46]
Although Nashville is renowned as a music recording center and tourist destination, its largest industry is health care. Nashville is home to more than 300 health care companies, including Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), the largest private operator of hospitals in the world.
The automotive industry is also becoming increasingly important for the entire Middle Tennessee region. Nissan North America moved its corporate headquarters in 2006 from Gardena, California (Los Angeles County) to Franklin, southwest of Nashville. Nissan also has its largest North American manufacturing plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. Largely as a result of the increased development of Nissan and other Japanese economic interests in the region, Japan moved its former New Orleans consulate-general to Nashville's Palmer Plaza.
Bridgestone has a strong presence with their North American headquarters located in Nashville, with manufacturing plants and a distribution center in nearby counties.
Other major industries in Nashville include insurance, finance, and publishing (especially religious publishing). The city hosts headquarters operations for several Protestant denominations, including the United Methodist Church, Southern Baptist Convention, National Baptist Convention USA, and the National Association of Free Will Baptists.
Nashville is also known for some of their famously popular Southern confections, including Goo Goo Clusters (which have been made in Nashville since 1912).[50]
Fortune 500 companies with offices within Nashville include Dell,[51] HCA, Bridgestone, Community Health Systems, Nissan North America, Tractor Supply Company, UBS and Dollar General.

I was lucky enough to get up on stage with these guys thanks to a friend who tipped them pretty well to let me play a couple songs with them. Definitely one of the coolest musical moments of my career so far. Thanks to the Barefoot Renegades. An awesome band to check out on Broadway.

Historic Alley Named After Legendary Honky Tonk
Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.NASHVILLE, TN - - Every day of the year music fills Tootsies Orchid Lounge. Most people come in through the front door, but just around the corner is another very famous entrance. Many artists came here to relax before or after the Grand Ole Opry including my dad Hank Williams says Jett Williams. The legendary alley entrance that Hank and hundreds of others have walked through has been revitalized. The original sign that hung for 60 years is glowing once again. When we started remodeling we decided to get the sign revamed they did a great job with it. It let's people know where the world famous entrance is as well says Tootsie's owner Steve Smith But that's not all. The alley itself was also named in honor of the legendary bar. When the Grand Ole Opry left, Tootsie stayed and then we kept it going. says Smith. A nod to one of Nashville's most well known landmarks and yet another reason for folks to visit Music City! Tootsies is also in the process of preserving the famous walkway that goes from the back of The Ryman to that back alley door at Tootsies.

Original song, Nashville
For week 10 of 10-week songwriting challenge
It was Johnny Horton that taught me who sunk the Bismarck in WWII
I was only a kid but then I knew, country music was what I’d do
I learned about the battle of New Orleans, honky tonkin, and a rockabilly beat
I was only a kid but it was then I knew that country music was what I’d do
I loved listening to the Opry every Friday night
Dancing around to my dad’s 45s
Dreaming about Nashville’s neon lights
Learning to play a little guitar
Pretending to be a big country star
Playing out at all the Broadway bars
It was Crystal Gayle who showed me how a tiny little lady could bring down a house
I was just a child but thought that could be me, a country singer is what I’d be
I told my mom don’t you cut my hair and that I wanted to wear the dresses she’d wear
I was just a child but thought hey that could be me, yeah a country singer is what I’d be
I loved listening to the Opry every Friday night
Dancing around to my dad’s 45s
Dreaming about Nashville’s neon lights
Pretending to be a big country star
Singing at all the Broadway bars
I knew when I left home that I’d go far
Well, I made it to Asheville North Caroline, not quite to Tennessee just near the state line
I’m all grown up and wanna believe, that it ain’t too late for me
But I sit at a desk most all day long, typing away not writing songs
I’m all grown up and wanna believe, that it could still be in the cards for me
I love listening to the Opry every Friday night
And dancing around to old 45s
Plotting to move to Nashville’s neon lights
Got just a little better at the old guitar
I’ve played at all my local bars
Fancying myself some kind of country star
Now don’t hear me wrong, I don’t wanna sing
Those cheesy pop songs bout tailgating
Or a pair of painted-on jeans
I wanna do it like my heros done
They could take you to church with the songs they sung
I aim to tell yarns that deserve to be spun
Wanna be on the Opry one Friday night
Playing for people dancing holding each other tight
My name up in Nashville’s neon lights
Be a favorite down at Robert’s Western World
Really give this music thing a whirl
Live out the dream I had when I’s a girl
Live out the dream I had when I’s a girl
